I scored a Misguided lace top - bnwt - rrp £18 - in my £1 charity shop today - I am going to cut it up for my raggedy rag doll's hair. I also found a Primarni top - sheer polyester - another garment destined for my scissors.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I spotted a cookery book in Age UK today - the companion volume to one I bought a few months ago, and mine for £2.99. I think I mentioned the original on here - Riverford Autumn and Winter veg: I now have the spring and summer version too.
Oh, and Sue Ryder has started their sales, as has somewhere else (I don't remember where). I've done so well for clothes recently that I'd better not investigate too closely.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Oh no, @Miró! I will try to note other charity shops with sales in case that helps.
I went into the Cancer Research opposite the old post office today and came away with a couple of books. You know how it is: go in and look at the novels and come away with a Sewing Bee book and the Good Housekeeping Crochet book. £4.60 for the two which isn't particularly cheap but they're both hardbacks.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. That's a bit of an unusual USP, @Rosa_Damascena! My husband loves art and buys a lot but I have generally dissuaded him from displaying portraits as they do appear to watch you! Of course that's because the subject's eyes were looking at the artist so they then seem to 'look' at anyone else.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I can sort of see why she might not be easy company - she looks a bit too intelligent & inclined to correct then complete your crossword puzzle. However, if people are willing to pay for "haunted", then as a charity shop assistant I'd be happily spinning tales!
