yes but you need to get the stuff from the shop(s) to the boot!!  I've been known to take bubble wrap with me too at times....

I've had a couple of lovely chazzer buys recently.

Carvella wedges, in leather for £10.50 - they fit really perfectly too! I can't find them online but think they must be upwards of £90?? I als picked up a black leather BIBA bag for £4.50 (it's in the back of the shoe pic!) - I think it was £150 new.

I’ve got a banana box permanently in the boot of my car and a couple of carrier bags in my handbag. Fill carriers in shop, decant into box, refill carriers in next shop. When you get home you’ve only the box to take inside. Rinse and repeat

I used to fold the bags for life & shove 5 into a jute shopper then line up a row of jute bags under the back seat. New can backseat less co-operative so I 'nest' the supermarket "tank bags" and throw semirigid shells of 5 baqs into the passenger footwells.
The banana boxes in Lancashire couldn't cope with the kiloage of Denby we used to lug, but then I carried stray copies of the Metro so I could give things a chance... Ponders the drive to Yorkshire to see these green mugs!

From memory, they are like this though I have a feeling there's something else that looks a lot like it.

Says it is dishwasher safe. At £16 per piece they would not go in my dishwasher

I checked with Denby and stoneware is dishwasher proof as well as lasting a lot longer than less expensive brands - we invested in some for everyday use quite a few years ago and they do go through the dishwasher though I can understand treasured pieces being done by hand.

I'm hoping the investment pays off in the very long term: it's headed that way!

They are at the stage now where I scrub them with a very mild abrasive to get cutlery marks off. We had 8 place settings and I've think I've replaced two pieces in five years, which is a lot tougher than the very cheap set we had before. My treasured Homestead pieces have occasionally been through the dishwasher too, but I admit I prefer to hand wash.

Well, the chazzers in 2 directions have been scoured... I came home with several things that will go back on Tuesday, but also a cream cotton & lace sleeveless shirt (ideal for hospital appointments and radiotherapy 😉), a pair of M&S wide leg linen trousers bnwt, a couple of t-shirts, a lovely sleeveless loose linen dress, a summer floral king size duvet set bnwt and a Next Broderie anglais top bnwt.

I think of all the things that have been broken over the years I don't think the dishwasher (machine) was to blame.  The human dishwasher, yes.  Or the human unloading a dishwasher, yes.  Just about the only thing that I wouldn't put in the dishwasher are dishes with gold trim (silver too if I had any), sharp knives of any sort and any cutlery with those bolted on handles.
