  • Last check in for 2023, it’s not been a great year mf wise. The rate rises have hit us hard. Plus massive home improvements that were long overdue. And next year might be the same.

    OP:
    August - £627.27

Thank you, as ever, @julicorn for everything you’ve done to support us
Small OPs are better than no OPs

Hi @julicorn. Will hold my hands up - I've been terrible at maintaining the regular op's, I did however manage a

    November op of £2580

when a fixed savings account matured - this was my last op of the year, so my total has fallen just short of the £3k target at £2810

Will post on the 2024 thread now!

Hi there @Julicorn#57 reporting in for END December

OP (savings) for Dec = £0

My total this year £9817 /£10800

So missed target for my savings but happy with what I've done.  My focus next year is retirement so I won't join next year's challenge until I have worked it all out.  I still have 2 years mortgage to go so not out of the woods yet.

Thank you so much for running the challenge

Hi everyone, #38 here with a final OP for December of £2,333.17.

This takes my total over payment this year to £13,242.13!!  I had initially set my target to £6000 but half way through the year we had a lightbulb moment that we should try to throw whatever we could at the mortgage whilst we were on a low rate.  We're still on that low rate in 2024 so we'll be doing the same again.

Thanks to @julicorn for taking the time to run this challenge and look forward to seeing everyone's progress on the 2024 thread.

  • #65 here with a December OP of £7906.14. This is largely due to a work bonus that I wasn't expecting. It brings the total for the year to £11,614.50 for the year! I've taken over 2 years off the term since I started this challenge. Thank you so much for running it @julicorn it really has helped me focus and mad a massive difference.
