Sorry I'm a bit behind in updating my figures. #66 with:
October 107
November 120
December 100
I've slightly changed strategy as I'm now paying £200 into a regular saver paying 8% interest each month with an aim of making a lump sum mortgage repayment next year when it matures.
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and here's to more mortgage overpayments in 2024.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30002 -

Thank you Becky for that reminder, I remember Martin Lewis mentioning this and now my 1.54% rate has ended and I've moved up to 4.01% with Halifax. I'm going to do the same and put money away instead of OP.
This forum has been such a great help.
I'm still going to use it and put away £200 a month from December's pay packet onwards. Is that ok?
So happy for you Flower of Scotland. Every mortgage free story is such an encouragement to me.
If ok, please sign me up next year Julicorn, same number or any is fine.2 -
Just to say. I did not meet my targets this and last year but your forum made me make a big dent nevertheless whilst I was on a lower rate.
My mortgage, even though it is still 64k is not such a big noose as if I'd done nothing.
Thank you so very VERY much for your commitment to us forumites. It must eat up a lot of your time Julicorn and I truly wish I could really show my heartful thanks for motivating me and removing much stress. x3 -

Mortgage_Minimiser said:#13 - not making a payment yet as we are going through redundancy at work so I am finishing on the 31st December (Merry Christmas!). I had just got to a point where I could plan for regular meaningful OPs so it has knocked me sideways quite a bit and the last few weeks have been really hard.
However I am sooo close to my target i want to try and hit it - anything not spent over Christmas will be paid to the OP target.
It's really made me realise that i need to get rid of the Mortgage and debt though, so as soon as I get a new job i shall be planning my escape properly and release myself from being tied to these people. I have £164.27 in my 'free money' pot, .thanks to HSBC account, selling a toy that isnt played with and prolific - so that's the plan to get to target. I think i need £434 ish in total.
Wish me look - this really is the spur to get me to pay this thing off now. Might start my own diary......
