While we're on the subject lets add bar staff who think that beer served in an 'oversize' pint glass (the ones with the line on) should have at least 4 inches of froth on top.

Go back to having ice buckets on the bar so you can help yourself, and provinding mixers in little bottles so you have control of how much you get.

Oh and when I drink Newcastle Brown I only want a half pint glass so I can drink it as it should be drunk according to the instructions on the bottle and Guiness should not be so cold it sets all my fillings on edge.

I am all for equality but ladies should not be expected to go to the bar when they are in a mixed group.

Cigarettes should be available in packets of 20 behing the bar not packets of 16 in a machine.

And finally, for the moment, when I order pie and chips with gravey I really don't want a salad garnish.

Get rid of background/mood music.

Provide juke boxes with a decent selection of tracks, come on guys we're in the CD/computer age now.

Decent bar food, I don't always want to eat in a restaurant area.

Soft drinks at sensible prices for when I'm driving.

Beer gardens that aren't right by the car park (why are pub car parks so big anyway? to encourage drink driving?).

Good point maybe we could go back to having a public bar with the games and music and a lounge bar with no music then everyone should be happy. The only problem is beer used to be 2p a pint more in the lounge bar!!!!

I used to work in a biker's pub. Loud, loud music every night and a rock band on saturdays. Fantastic ;D

I hate it even more when aforementioned salad garnish has been microwaved along with everything else on the plate - warm lettuce - yuck!

My uncle (who was a  pub landlord) once gave me a tip about those syphon dispenser things.  He advised me to always buy bottled soft drinks at a bar because the syphon version can be usually is diluted.  It's a way for the pub/landlord to increase their profits.

I always ask for soft drinks without ice too.  This always causes problems for the waiter/tress if I'm in a fast food establishment.

I read somewhere that if your drink is loaded with ice, apart from paying heavily for frozen water, it helps to speed up the rate at which you swallow your food and so you finish your meal and vacate the table faster.

gotta say i love asking for no ice in mcd or similar, the staff always look confused.

Depends on what the lady expects - I quite like going to the bar and don't want to feel like 'the little woman'. Why don't you agree with it? Do you mean you don't like a lady spending her money or the physical act of going to the bar ???

I have no problem with ladies spending thgeir money but I was brought up to act as a gentleman and in crowded situations ladies (and the emphasis is on LADIES not females in general) often get ignored or barged around at the bar.
