Dozy Barpersons!

Any other G & T aficionado's out there?
This is a rant about getting more than I want!
Seems to be the trend now for bar staff to serve G & T's in tall glasses filled to the brim with tonic, usually from those syphon-thingies so is flat anyway! It should be (IMO) 1 part gin to 2-3 parts tonic only. When ordering for myself I always insist on a bottle of tonic and pour it myself but can I get bloke to do this ....noooo! You would think he would learn cos I keep sending him back to get another shot of gin put in but doesn't happen.
Any bar persons...why do you do this?????

For the same reason that they insist on putting half a dozen ice cubes in your drink when you only want a couple. Most things in life are easy it's just doing them well that's difficult !!!!!!!!!!0 -

While we're on the subject lets add bar staff who think that beer served in an 'oversize' pint glass (the ones with the line on) should have at least 4 inches of froth on top.
Go back to having ice buckets on the bar so you can help yourself, and provinding mixers in little bottles so you have control of how much you get.
Oh and when I drink Newcastle Brown I only want a half pint glass so I can drink it as it should be drunk according to the instructions on the bottle and Guiness should not be so cold it sets all my fillings on edge.
I am all for equality but ladies should not be expected to go to the bar when they are in a mixed group.
Cigarettes should be available in packets of 20 behing the bar not packets of 16 in a machine.
And finally, for the moment, when I order pie and chips with gravey I really don't want a salad garnish. Most things in life are easy it's just doing them well that's difficult !!!!!!!!!!0 -
gotta say i hate ice cold guiness. thats horrid.0

My uncle (who was a pub landlord) once gave me a tip about those syphon dispenser things. He advised me to always buy bottled soft drinks at a bar because the syphon version can be usually is diluted. It's a way for the pub/landlord to increase their profits.
I always ask for soft drinks without ice too. This always causes problems for the waiter/tress if I'm in a fast food establishment.
I read somewhere that if your drink is loaded with ice, apart from paying heavily for frozen water, it helps to speed up the rate at which you swallow your food and so you finish your meal and vacate the table faster.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. What puzzles me is if Allexie knows blokes won't buy a bottle of tonic and she has to send them back to the bar for more gin.... why doesn't she ask for a double G&T to start with?0

oh and another thing.......
those over-attentive wine-waiterpersons in restaurants that keep filling your wine glass before its empty....how on earth do you keep track of how much you've drunk ::)♥♥♥ Genius - 1% inspiration and 99% doing what your mother told you. ♥♥♥0 -

it also means, that if you have ice in the glass, you dont get the full measure you are paying for.....!smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
