How long to wait for delivery in current Royal Mail situation

Apparently we are been told "this is what the customer wants".
Thanks for the insight. With regards to the CSP closing I think the reality is that it is impossible for staff members to look through so many parcels to find the ones they are looking for. My sorting office customer service desk closed for that reason after a previous strike. They didn't announce it. They just said they had to close as it was impossible because they were taking so long to find each customer's parcel.

I appreciate the fact that buyers will turn to the seller when a package doesn't arrive, but I fail to understand what they would like the seller to come back with?? Remember, the current situation is not the seller's fault either. Seller's do not know what to do or how to respond. The seller can try contacting Royal Mail, and sit and wait on the phone for an hour or so to speak to someone, but the only response will be 'it's delayed due to the backlog from strike action'. So I'm not entirely sure what buyer's would like from the seller, unless it's just a straight refund, after which the seller will lose out once the package is delivered a week or two down the line (unless you are honest and re-pay for the item, which, let's face it, most won't bother doing).
It's an awful situation for everyone. No-one wins - it's the sellers that lose out, some in a big way.1 -

What is the latest I can leave it before I have to start an INR to protect my position? I've got 45 days from expected date in my mind - is this correct?
Wish I had more buyers like you! lol
Note that it's 30 days - not 45.
"You have 30 days from the estimated delivery date to inform the seller that you didn't receive your item. Once you've told them there's a problem, the seller has 3 business days to provide a delivery update, offer a replacement, or give you a refund. Note that not all sellers offer replacements."0 -

I'm very pleased - my package from eBay was delivered by Royal Mail this afternoon. It was very well packed. In my feedback I mentioned that the delivery delay was owing to the Royal Mail strike..
Let's hope the strikes will be resolved and things get back to more normal soon.1 -
My outstanding ebay/etsy items of 4&7 December both came today.
I didn't chase sellers as not their fault at all.
Definitely looking at February instead of January to return to selling on eBay myself!4 -
