@2Scratters the diamond fell out of my engagement ring when I was a week overdue with DS. Needless to say, many tears were cried! Then a few days later I was very busy! I had a replacement ring two years later, but because I'd lost loads of weight at the time it hasn't fit for years. I need to declutter 5 stone really
Didn't check in yesterday as I was so busy with the passport errand. Two passport applications decluttered, as well as 7 books to DNiece. I'm presently her favourite visitor, so lots of cuddles gained. It's a bit tough sometimes as secondary infertility meant I didn't have change to have another baby (primary infertility of 11 years to have DS too!). I'd have loved to have a daughter too.
Started in living room today, wiped down the skirtings I can get to and cleaned the table and chairs as well as the fronts of furniture. Want to crack on this week in this room, decluttering and deep vacuuming under furniture, will tackle remaining skirtings then. Next month needs to be carpet washing throughout house, radiators defluffed and bled. Definitely blustery and autumnal today.
Counting down the weeks til DH does Oxford half-marathon and the following week is Disneyland. I'm more excited than DS is, but at 11 years old he's a bit grown up. Youngest nieces will love it though!
My 40th birthday is coming up on SaturdayMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

We really enjoyed the BBQ yesterday - it was the best weather of the week. Small garden but lots of chairs and a great mix of people. A invited the whole corps and friendship club - so we had rough sleepers/long time soldiers and new worshippers plus Wednesday lunch folk. Left over cakes were handed out after the service this morning to be enjoyed with tea or coffee.
No afternoon service which is good as a tiring day yesterday.
I have quite a lot of tables booked for the sale on Saturday. Going to be busy on social media advertising this week.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Just a couple of bits to declare for today. I had someone round yesterday and I was surprised at how quickly I could clear up most the house (my bedroom and the library were not done). Yay to decluttering houses! Now it is maintenance, using things up and getting on top of a load of stuff that takes a long time but has a lower impact than a big declutter. I'll have to just use Sort Your Life Out as my decluttering hit instead! My immediate tasks for next week are:
- Continue decluttering the freezer (and baking cupboards where possible)
- Fill a big bag tomorrow with the pile of clothes to get rid of in the charity box. The school are doing a collection to take in Tuesday, so that makes it easy.
- Book open evenings for DS for his next school
- Continue tidying in other areas
I also bought myself a couple of glass jars for flour storage. Mine are tins and are lovely, but they aren't sealed and I want to switch to using the flour from my zero waste shop, so I decided to replace them. The old ones I'm sure will go on Buy Nothing once I get the new ones in the post.Digital:

It's been an unusually busy week since I last posted. Worked Monday and Tuesday - both very busy days. Then attended a course (in person!) Wed-Fri - it was a fantastic course but exhausting travelling up to Town every day (90 mins each way!) and all that sitting! It was based up at Little Venice which is a bit of a schlep for me but what a beautiful place to be - some lovely lunch hours walking along the Grand Union Canal. (see pic below) Then attended another course on Saturday morning & Church this morning! Rested both afternoons.
Virtually nothing in or out - my mind and energy was completely taken up by the course. House is reasonably tidy and have caught up with laundry. I have also been keeping up to date with my "Artist's Way" course - completed 4 weeks!
Day off tomorrow thankfully! Lots of rest planned - I still ache from tiredness....
Tasks:
0IN (running total 171)
172. Pack of cupboard organisers - has transformed my "over the cooker" cupboard.
173 & 4 - 2 x books from course

Two old school photography books to the charity shop pile. Mr Flamingo tried rehoming to his film photography buddies, but no takers, so chazza it is. Apart from that, not really decluttered much today, it's been more a cleaning day than a decluttering dayMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

@Liverpool_Anne thanks for the link. Bit of bed time reading for me. OH has threatened to apply for sort your life out. 🙄 I feel a bit of a failure tonight, hormones are playing havoc (hate pmt) and had a massive row with OH over everything. We are ok though but I am feeling a little fragile and overwhelmed tonight.
A fantastic positive family member who had stroke can now walk length of hospital ward either a stick and speech coming back too. They should be home early October.
I had some decluttering of the weeds at the allotment, decluttered half the ironing pile and saw Cirque last night plus cooked a roast today.15 -
Deleted a few more old emails today plus filed a few others. Need to do some chasing up phone calls tomorrow along with some cleaning and more emails.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅15
