DH got home about 14:50. He had managed to find a Farm shop so I now have 3 large leeks, 3 very large potatoes, a proper sized cauliflower & a cabbage. He also treated us to a packet of chocolate covered ginger biscuits 😋 & a jar of grapefruit marmalade. He is now lying on our bed with his leg up 🙂 My 3rd frog was to clean my rings, earrings & spectacles using my new toy - an ultrasonic cleaner (which has been in its box for several months ….unused) 😉 I now have sparkling jewellery AND I can see properly 😊 Spent the rest of the afternoon watching TV. Dinner was a new to me recipe Tuna Pasta - using garlic, chilli & ginger 🤤 DH definitely approved 😊 so it is a keeper 🙂 Wudupa

Morning all. Haven't been here since June so have missed a lot but I have hit my decluttering target for the year 🥳 Well actually I think I've gone way past it because I stopped counting the other day when I was working my way through all the shredding that we had (it was all in one of those boxes that fit in the kallax units 😳). I also sorted through all our travel stuff and have decluttered the things that we don't need and a couple of bits of clothing as well. So I'm calling it 365 and I'll just count everything else on top now.
Hoping to get back on track and keep up to date here a bit more - although the next few months are very very busy for me and I'm already struggling to keep everything together but we shall see!
Hope everyone is doing well, hugs to those that need them.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201724 -
Still no joy getting rid of rabbit hutch/run 🤷♀️
having a sort out in our room due to a new bed coming so will probably try to sell current base and headboard as very good condition but mattress will be a bulky waste item along with old sofa still in the shed but as they in same category I get second item collected cheaper 😂
have declutted 2 eldest teens to my mums for a week along with 2 cases full of stuff….which will come back wanting washing unless my mum does it while they there 🤞19 -

A lovely sunny Tuesday but I completely missed the morning as I have only just got up 😔 DH set off just gone noon to visit his niece M - he is taking down the last set of curtains which he couldn’t get to last Friday 😉 M’s moving date is now the 25th. DH got a message from my DSis that she has had to go to the doctor to get tablets for an infected mosquito bite - poor DSis 😔 but other than that is having a lovely time visiting friends. I will dive straight into cheerleading as after a short lull in speed the EDT is now charging along again 😉
QueenJess, I have serious cupboard envy 😉😍 That cupboard probably has the same square footage as my downstairs cloakroom 😂 It just goes to show how different we all are when it comes to describing areas as being ‘messy’ 😉 as I saw the photos & thought how well organised & tidy it was 👏 From my perspective all that needs doing is folding & maybe bagging the duvet 😊 Good luck with your final decisions on both the cupboard & living room 🍀 Excellent decluttering as usual 👏
Wednesday2000, not sure I would visit a psychic even now in the autumn of my years 😉
florianatwobob, I agree 😊
applepad, I am also enamoured of that medicine box 🙂 Excellent decluttering & I especially like the decluttered fly 👏 I too have an integrated fridge/freezer but have a couple of hundred fridge magnets (I buy them as my memento of places visited) that haven’t seen the light of day for years 😱 DH did try to design a display system but it didn’t really work - although we still have several frames & metal sheets for another attempt in the future 😉
~FlowerPot~ congratulations on almost disposing of your “huge toad” 👏 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ as I just know it will have been posted off this morning whilst I was still in the land of Nod 😊Hope you have a lovely holiday with great weather 😊
vulpix, how very spooky but at least you were brave enough to try it 😉 It would seem that there are people who do have the “gift” it is just a shame that there are so many fraudsters in the world 😔 That jewellery workshop sounds absolutely amazing & what a great present 🥳 Your car seems to have become your home away from home whilst the renovations are ongoing 😊 Everything crossed that the plastering will be done soon & that the weather is kind so that it will dry quickly 🤞Looking at your lovely photo I was imagining ‘the fellowship of the Ring’ 😂
whiteguineapig, another great idea for how to declutter old jewellery 👏
Lovely to see you leftatthetrafficlights 👋 The EDT has so many carriages now so no wonder you couldn’t find your way to the computer room 😅 Well done on keeping up with your decluttering 👏 I have noticed how well you are doing with the Grocery Challenge (GC) so I am awarding you a medal 🏅Btw your list is on page 468 of this thread 🙂 If only I was as organised with my decluttering 🤣
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 What a beautiful advent calendar - so much work 😍 Reminded me to visit the crafting thread - so many talented crafters 👏
Excellent decluttering stellata 👏 So sorry to hear that you are having issues with getting a date for your operation 😔
Brie, toe rings 🤔 now that is weird 🤣 I am really enjoying the conversation about psychics 😊 so interesting 🙂 Btw did your brunette brothers end up with the blond ladies 😉
QueenJess, you inspired me to look at Medicine Tins & I have to say that I agree - lovely but overpriced 😉
retiredinfrance, “declutterati chums” is such a lovely description so I am very pleased that you are keeping it alive 😊 One of the many things I love about this thread is how often someone will mention a decluttering project & it sparks someone else to do the same 🥳
applepad, what a great idea to make your own Medicine Tin 👏
Thanks for the extra info TC77 👏
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Remember the quality of decluttering counts just as much as the quantity 😊 I will be round later for some plum crumble 😂 Sending lots of get well wishes to your DD for a speedy recovery from the after effects of Covid 💐
Floss, great suggestion for stellata 😊
I am taking forever to cheerlead, so will post this & come back later to finish 😉 DH not home yet so it gives me a chance to do a couple of things without disturbing him 😉
Hope everyone is having some good weather for a change 🤞

I watched a Joshua Becker (a well known US minimalist) video today and he was talking about tips on how to declutter when you are moving home. He said one good tip is to look at each object quite a while before you start even thinking about packing and see if there is dust on it. That is a sign that you don't use it and probably don't need it.
I saw on Instagram earlier that Sort Your Life Out has been nominated for a TV award (2023 NTAs) along with the Martin Lewis show. I assume Paul O'Grady will win it, though. Paul O'Grady receives a posthumous nomination at the 2023 NTAs

oceanspirit said:OH decluttered a huge spider from bedroom earlier. I suggested it might like to go to the pub, but OH didn’t want to carry it that far so put it in the front garden. I expect it’ll be back in tomorrow.
reminds me of the time my dad was visiting a friend who was cleaning out his chicken enclosure and was complaining about the huge number of squirrels he had to deal with. Dad watch him pick up the live trap with a squirrel in it and, wanting to not be cruel, then took the trap and emptied the squirrel over the fence into the next field. The squirrel, of course, hit the ground, scampered back under the fence and headed to where the chickens and all their lovely feed was scattered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. A quick burst of activity - my sofa & cushion covers are now in the wm. I have vacuumed the sofa & the whole of downstairs - only had to empty the vacuum once 🥳 DH is home (14:49) with the news that M is being messed around by the solicitors as she still hasn’t exchanged contracts, so moving date is not the 25th as we all thought/hoped 😔 DH has filled the bird feeders & water bowls. Just making himself a sandwich & coffee before heading to his office.
Wow, you had a busy & successful Monday evening betasam 👏 Excellent decluttering of kitchen cupboards 👏 Shame about all the food stuffs that had to be binned BUT this means you are starting with a clean slate & will only buy what you will eat & drink 🥳 with the knock on effect of cheaper grocery bills 🤞Btw, don’t forget to take photos of the empty or almost empty shelves 😊 Very pleased to hear that I have inspired you to WUDUPA 😊 It is always nice to come downstairs in the morning to at least one clear space in the kitchen 🥳 Hope todays decluttering is going well 🤞 Congratulations on such an excellent weight loss - now that is what I call decluttering 👏 So impressed that I am awarding you your first Gold Star ⭐️ Keep up the good work with your decluttering 😊
oceanspirit, excellent decluttering especially the humongous spider 👏
Liverpool_Anne, sounds like you had a marvellous time at the birthday party 😊 I agree that persuading other members of the household to declutter means that you can count items out as your decluttering 😉👏 Very impressed that you have been resisting the temptation to “buy items that are not quite right” 👏 Your patience & persistence has been rewarded by finding the exact items you want 🥳 One medal 🏅 coming your way for dealing with 2 frogs 🙂
Lovely to see you ruby_eskimo 👋 Excellent decluttering & well done on reaching & passing your target 👏 A Gold Star ⭐️ is winging its way to you as I type 😊 Hopefully the next few months won’t be so busy that you can’t allocate time for some TLC 🤞
Crazycatlady2, sorry to hear that the rabbit hutch & run are yet to find a new home 😔 Good luck selling the bed 🍀 Did smile at “have decluttered 2 eldest teens to my mums for a week…..” I will join you in crossing my fingers that your mum returns the teens with bags of washed clothes 🤞😂
Wednesday2000 I am quoting your entire post as it is so relevant “I watched a Joshua Becker (a well known US minimalist) video today and he was talking about tips on how to declutter when you are moving home. He said one good tip is to look at each object quite a while before you start even thinking about packing and see if there is dust on it. That is a sign that you don't use it and probably don't need it“ Showed this to DH & he commented that niece M’s entire flat contents could have fallen into the “don’t need it” category 🤣
I saw on Instagram earlier that Sort Your Life Out has been nominated for a TV award (2023 NTAs) along with the Martin Lewis show. I assume Paul O'Grady will win it, though. Paul O'Grady receives a posthumous nomination at the 2023 NTAs Seems such a shame that they don’t create a new category 😔
Brie, well I suppose the psychic got it partly correct then 😉 I fell off the sofa laughing at the squirrel story 😂 🤣
All caught up 🙂 DH has just put his leg up & I am about to tackle a frog 😉 I will report back later 👋

Hi everyone.
I finally slimmed into 2 pairs of jeans I've had in the wardrobe a few months and 1 pair I bought cheap in the sale in a charity shop.
I've been able to declutter a winter coat that'd become at least a size, if not 2 too big, plus 3 pairs of jean shorts and at least 3 pairs of jeans that I've slimmed out of.
I've 1 pair that's in the washing to also go to the charity shop.

Thanks @Mrs_Salad_Dodger but since typing this my mum rang to say they arrived safe but she tested positive for Covid so now hoping we don’t all have that so washing is least of my worries….just stripped bed she slept in as wasn’t going to bother as my stepdad would be sleeping in it next week and was only used 1 night….fun never stops here14
