@Soontobeoap your understairs cupboard sounds beautiful with its fresh new wallpaper. It must be so satisfying to have achieved that!@Florenceem I loved the way you made your cards. Such a great way of recycling pretty cards and making something individual for someone.I got the cordless vacuum cleaner emptied out and cleaned the filter. My house must be filthy as I just can’t believe how grim that filter gets. My main big vacuum cleaner has bags thankfully and the other is useful for upstairs so I don’t have to carry the big one up there.
Today’s task is either going to be the bathroom toiletries cupboard or the desk surface. I’ll see what I feel like. I have been doing well at keeping the kitchen table and the coffee table clear each day. My husband is enemy number one here, with my son a close second. They both just come in and dump everything on the kitchen table and leave it there. We don’t have a separate dining area so I am determined to keep this up as I hate having to sweep stuff aside to sit down to eat.21 -
Morning All, Well finally got home at gone 2am due to 1.5 hour delay with flight and over an hour wait for baggage. Never seen Bristol airport luggage belts so packed. Then DD nearly lost favourite fleecy scarf ( I had as an Xmas present but she has adopted it) so a sprint back to the bus and driver had kindly handed it in.
Will be taking it fairly easy today, still got a food shop, unpacking and washing to do. Back to reality tomorrow with work and school.
Had an amazing holiday though and will definately go back. The temperature was just right for us.

Hello can I join in too please? I am aiming for 100 large moving boxes of stuff gone. I have been selling on v!nted since January 2nd and so far have sold 4 things and made £9.25 which I will use to overpay one of my debts, (it stands at £7000 so a long way to go on that one). I am running the London marathon in April, (couldn't get into the actual race as space was limited so am running locally) and hoping to get top part of house decorated. So aims for 2023:
* 100 moving boxes worth of clutter cleared.
* run marathon.
* decorate 3 bedrooms.
* complete garden sort out.
Need to do all the decorating and garden jobs myself as funds are tight but I love a project 😁2024 decluttering Campaign

Yesterday was successful, although mostly a net neutral for decluttering.Mr Puppy's wardrobe is being picked up tomorrow, and a new, smaller and lighter wardrobe is being delivered in it's place.Also managed to find a comfortable recliner chair for the reading room, and a little table which I am super pleased with.
2 bags to charity, managed to release 2 more dresses that I do wear, but don't really think suit me. Also included 3 books, but brought home 2 books so that's a net positive.18 -
Well, the photos went down really well with the family and that means I've been able to get rid of the shoebox that they were in that was falling apart and pop them ALL into a made for purpose photo box, happy days and great catching up with the family.
Decluttered a cupboard on the upstairs landing today and got rid of loads of paperwork from an old job from 15 years ago!and also moved some craft stuff elsewhere so like is with like ( crafting supplies are crafty, they multiply all over the place).
Happy with progress so far x21 -
Just a quick check in as I've been rather remiss at reporting. I continue to be ill (thinking I was over the worst last weekend was rather optimistic). I'm now totally exhausted by this 'bug' (multiple bugs).
I have continued to 'declutter' only because of plans and actions done before the festivities. I prepared for going to DS1's for 6 days by deciding which clothes I wanted to wear and putting them to one side as they cleared 'processing', (including using the TD which I never do) and wearing what was left (the shabby, the painting clothes etc) in the few days before I left. I had clean dried clothes to come back to, emptied my suitcase into the WM when I got back whilst waiting for my emergency food delivery (I had a long planned delivery due ion the Saturday and enough things to get by for a couple of days but the bug meant I had to rethink that and order 'easy to eat' stuff - ice cream, fresh berries, yoghurt, lots of soft drinks to get me through.
Similarly, to prepare for going away, I set aside the pills and toiletries I needed and continued with the 'use ups' . I continued to use the 2 small clear toiletries bags I took away and everything else fits into part of a top drawer (the box of boxes has been emptied and the small boxes broken down). I've been mostly resting, reading and watching my latest serial (when not coughing/ sneezing my head off or trying to find a comfortable position to lie in). So my bathroom is very clean (except parts of the floor although on better days I moved the smaller items of furniture one at a time, collected any stray bits and used them to scrub other bits), the kitchen floor is nearly clear, clothes and pots are nearly all clean (last 2 days have been more challenging).
I've abandoned my 12 Days of Christmas but filled in the gaps of Day 3 and 4 with my Friday morning list (actually got down the yard to the bins) and stuff done since - 5 sacks of rubbish and can recycling (cans are still in the yard as DS3 missed the collection last time and the town centre recycle point has been reduced), 6 laundry - sack of clean clothes upstairs and put away, next load in the TD, next load in the WM, any remnants gathered and bagged in readiness), 7 Use up toiletries and cleaning products (mostly toiletries, including cutting the tubes open and scraping them out but cleaning stuff doing nicely and more to come - bathroom was squirted and left to soak including lots of less noticeable spots, now doing the same with doorframes, where I hold on to get around the house, 8 small boxes and carrier bags of paper into the paper bin, 12 - another 7 small boxes (mainly used to sort different categories, no longer needed) and 5 large boxes (emptied but strong useful boxes so flattened and saved for moving DS3 and his Beloved (I've got to have something to look forward to). 9 all the random other things I've done (brisket and chicken breasts were cooked and used for meals/ frozen, lots of bits used up, some drawers (roughly sorted before I went away) gone through properly - I was just trying to get stuff away and it had been sorted by category but needed fine tuning and arranging as neatly as possible. When I've emptied a drawer or a significant part of a drawer I've given it a designated purpose and put things that belong there away until there are enough to 'arrange', then again if any oddments turn up later.
So 4 days completed (think 12 days of Christmas is a good target for next year, probably just after I've done the reverse advent calendar or in tandem for a few days) so my current total is 312/ 2023. My big target is Tuesday when I hope to declutter a bungalow (DS3 has agreed to come with me and he'll walk back with the 3 remaining pieces of polytunnel frame that wouldn't fit in my brother's car). I'll check the post box, do the final meter readings and then (everyone keep your fingers crossed, I'll cry if there's a further delay) get a taxi to the EA to drop off the keys - I know where the keys are and I think I left the book of boiler instructions and the bin schedule there in December - and I really don't think the buyers deserve flowers, wine, a pair of glasses and a welcome to your new home card after all their messing me about.
May not post for a few days (depends on the bug). My next 'outing' is to a funeral in Blackpool on the 24th (I will be going the day before and booking into a hotel for a couple of days, no need to wear myself out doing it all in a day), want to support the deceased's daughter, especially if some of the toxic relations show up. Will go and attempt a shower now.21 -

I haven't been on here for a few days but reading the past couple of pages it seems like you have all been busy!
All my donation bags and pictures were taken to the charity shop, on Thursday, I think.
I still have to book the bulky waste collection and call the charity shop to see if they will take the fold out bed and chair. I will do that next week. I was thinking of seeing if they would take a couple of our garden chairs too as we never use them.
I do have 3 large sofa cushions that I don't want. I'm not sure whether a charity shop would want them as they are missing the sofa! It seems a shame to put them with bulky waste, though. If anyone has any ideas what I can do with them?..
I did declutter the kitchen again last night and threw away a couple of OOD food items. I reorganised the fridge as I tend to lose things if they are blocked by other jars as I don't want to waste money by throwing away any food.15 -
Two magazines read and recycled- magazine rack is no longer stuffed to bursting point 😊
Gift bag - added to stash
