Having smart meters a couple of weeks ago has triggered me to de clutter. As I had to clear a space for the installer to work. I have been listening to the The Minimalists on you tube. I wont be going that far to basically having one chair in the middle of a white roomBut so far I have cleared out excess drinking glasses, coffee mugs, a whole dinning set that I have not used in about 4 years. At the moment I am going through cupboards/drawers and getting rid of stuff so it doesn't look like I have done much. But 2 crates so far to the charity shop and one to tip. Another full crate sat in the living room waiting to go. And another crate started for the tip. Does not help that my partner has stuff in my tiny office. While he has the second biggest bedroom as an office/computer room. And its stuffed to the rafters with stuffHope for everything and expect nothing!!!

Hello all, sorry to have been MIA this week but I have been busy, honest ! We have been taking down a dilapidated garden fence and then painting and putting up new posts, rails and a replacement fence, 6ft instead of 4ft. Took us ages 😲 so we must be more feeble than we imagined in our old age ! I have persuaded DH to use the half fence left over to make a narrow gate to go between the fence and the shed. He now thinks it's his idea and will be a good security deterrent. It will be when he eventually puts a padlock on it 🙄.
I decided to clear the side of DH's shed of the weeds and brambles which had come over from next door (hence the taller fence) and they are in the green waste bin. The house is empty at the moment but the back garden needs attention. It's on the market for buying or renting but so far no takers.
Underneath the weeds etc I found some old broken tiles, 2 plastic sides from a x trainer, lots of used bricks and a small piece of carpet (Sadly they all belong to us) They have all been put ready to go to the tip plus some thick wire mesh, small pieces of corrugated roofing material and bits of old wood. The old panels will need breaking down then they can go too. The side of my house is looking like a mini tip !! 😠 I keep telling myself I must have patience as I don't drive and rely on DH, but it's very hard to do and I don't have much patience when I have a bee in my bonnet, but he can only do it when he has good days with his health.
Today I decluttered a load in the wm plus another wash consisting of our outdoor work clothes, think I had more paint on mine than the fence 😂 I have recycled 3 caravan mags, several bits of paper and a plastic fruit container. The few flyers that came through the door have joined them. I binned 2 stiff paintbrushes and the jar they were in has been washed and recycled, goodness knows how long they had been there 😧 My fault guilty as charged m'lud.
Right I'm off on the hunt for more gems to declutter although I'm supposed to be having a rest day.
Take care all

Hi all, I have been listening to the radio and an amazing young man, Joseph Roberts, was talking about his poetry. He recited a poem about mental health and the " luggage" we all carry around. If anyone wants to listen to it apparently he's on all sorts of social media. He started writing when he was 16 and now aged 19 he is making a living by doing recitals etc. I love that he has been able to follow his passion and make a living from it
@dND, good luck with the move, hoping you find somewhere to live soon and you let us all know how you get on
Done nothing so far this morning except drink tea and listen to the radio. We are off to visit the baby in a bit so I am not expecting to get much donethough the freezer and food cupboards will be decluttered when we go
Thunderstorms threatening but not actually arrived here yet
Take care everyone

Just a thought on "loo seat gate "...this initial package of home aids has been put in place to assist a discharge but there is nothing to stop Florenceem contacting her local social services department responsible for adult services and getting them to come and survey what assistance they can provide be it grants for wet rooms , additional raised seats etc.
It takes time but work with them and there is more help out there than you expect!
Now I have decluttered that ..must crack onSuccess is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.Thats what I keep telling myself :-)18 -
The toilet frames come in various guises. Some are quite light simply being a framework that has arm rests that you can push against to help you stand upright. It doesn't look much different to a zimmer frame.
Others are more like wheelchairs being a rolling commode which can be locked into position over the toilet so that there's a higher seat (so easier) and again armrests to help one down and back up. Heavy and awkward to move.
We've had both for MiL as well as a simple clamp on higher toilet seat (waste of time if you don't have the strength in your legs and inconvenient for anyone else who wants to use the loo).
If I was @Florenceem I'd be asking for 2 of the first type as otherwise it will need to be shifted down stairs in the morning and back up for the night.

Feeling a bit flat after family visit so took myself off to a beauty spot I've been meaning to see. Well worth the effort. Decluttered some gardening when I got back and an ice cream from the freezer. 2 hospital appointments this week, I'm a bit off kilter decluttering wise but will try to catch up a bit as sitting about feeling glum isn't helpful.Magnolia Stellata17

THere are two toilets on differet floors which mean it's less straightforward than one. She is concerned and should be advised by those in the know in those circumstances.pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Not to be picky but that's exactly what you both said and implied.A concern for the NHS is all well and good but I'm sure that their troubles can be laid at the door of politics and insurance companies wanting to make more money for Tory cronies so let's just assume Flo will have what Mr Flo needs and leave it at that?Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi17
