Missed a call this morning - it was from a disability aids company. They are delivering a perch stool and a toilet frame on Thursday - I have 2 toilets - what am I supposed to do - carry it up and down stairs - ridiculous. Going to have some ice cream to cool the steam coming out of my ears!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Mrs. S_D: I have jade plants growing in the front yard, backyard, and on the kitchen window sills. They grow really well front just a piece broken off. Our handyman likes to get pieces to take home and pass along to family members. Supposed to bring good luck moneywise.16

Mrs SD. I have to make an appointment for a blood test so I will ask about the shingles jab. Going away Friday with DD and family. Dropping boys (SIL and DGS1) at Fort William for a weekend of climbing including Ben Nevis then DD, DGD1 and I are heading to Skye (the home of my MacLeod ancestors) - been to Scotland many times but never across to Skye. Then we pick the 'boys' back up and head to Northumberland lodge for 4 days. Looking forward to it very much.
Spent silly amount of money at shops although Mr S had lots of reduced meat which we put in freezer. Had coffee and cake out and later DS2 cooked some steak for tea.

It may be worth discussing the two toilet situation with the disability company Florence however years ago Occupational Therapy in our local health dept lent me a perching stool when I was in severe pain with sciatica I couldn't sit down anywhere it was my GP who contacted them.{t's probably worth you contacting those at the hospital who have been assessing Mr Fs needs however there is probably a lot of demand on disability aids . I had to buy my youngest dds transit wheelchair when she was attending a hospital on the outskirts of Liverpool whichhad an odd latout two buildings with lots of upward slopes tio navigate then a long walk across to the other part of the hospital. I struggled myself and it was almost impossibel for her. The lifts were always full . Only once did the door open when I pressed the button. There was a porter inside with a covered trolley. He said I can make room foryou both I'm just taking this poor man down to the basement. I looked at him and the penny dropped so I said you're very kind but we don't want to delay you. DD asked who was under that cover ; I didn't want to panic her so just said come on we can walk this.Iwent on the Big River site when we got home and ordered a lightweight transit wheelchair with a comfy cushion and that was with us in the car boot when we went to various hospitals. It wasn't expensive so I wasn't sure if it would be ok. it's still going strong after many years and was sometimes used to go to her 2 weekly gp appointments on the days the walking stick wasn't helping .I would ask how heavy those toilet frames are you may be able to try liting one. You've carried many .bags up and down stairs so it may be something you can manage. We need to bear in mind the NHS is under a lot of pressure and it may not be able to fund two of the frames.I think you need to try lifting one you may find they aren't as heavy as you fear.pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Back again 😉 DH & I have mostly packed our bags for our Round Britain Rally jaunt to Cornwall. Leaving tomorrow morning & staying 2 nights in an hotel just outside Bodmin. Back on Tuesday. I have also done a quick tidy of one area of the kitchen worktop & am now sweating cobs 😅 Temperature has hit 28C but the sun has vanished 😉
1533 - 1535 Kitchen recycling & detritus + lr detritus disposed of appropriately
1536 - 1537 Newspaper & magazine recycled
Blue_Doggy, lovely chatty post 😊 Unfortunately DH is not currently available for hire 😔 I will let you know when he is 😉 He is reasonably priced - just the odd snack, lots of hot & cold drinks & a shady area to rest in 🤣 Fingers crossed that, should you decide to employ a cleaner (at some unspecified time in the future), you will find one quickly 😉 No need to apologise for not name checking - it is hard enough keeping up with the EDT 😂 Wow, very impressed that your Reading Group has lasted so long 🤩 Shame about the hall - and I imagine it is more expensive as well as more complicated 😉 Now that the remaining members have decided that they should take it in turns to host it is a great incentive to declutter 🥲 either that or hope the weather is fine & you can sit out in the garden 🤞😉 (providing ‘blinkers’ at the door 🙃) Does the History Group have different members? Well done on supporting an independent greengrocer 👏 I hope you had a lovely lunch with V & N 😊 Excellent & eclectic decluttering Blue_Doggy 👏 So impressed with not only how much you have done but also by the extra information you have shared about your thought processes, that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ I am still using the Jack Frost method of dealing with paperwork - notes/reminders on scraps of paper littered about the place 🤣 so you are well ahead of me 👏 I look forward to reading your next post 😊
Excellent decluttering of partially used notebooks GrannyKate 👏 - I am in the opposite position - nearly all my scrap paper has been used but I have partially used notebooks “coming out of my ears” 😂 I am trying to come up with an idea to get you to your 1012 target by Thursday 🤔 🤔 …………. Do you have a large stash of pens that could be checked? or maybe a huge stack of books that could be thinned out? Sorry, not doing very well for ideas - I think the heat has turned my brain to mush 😅 So I will wish you good luck instead 🍀but also tell you not to worry about it & start looking forward to your holiday 😊
Crazycatlady2, lovely post 😊 I am especially enamoured of your suggestion & recommendation to get the largest shower cubicle possible in the upstairs bathroom 👏 The 3 of us in our house are all of larger size 😂 so it makes sense 😊 One medal 🏅 coming your way & I have added to my Bathroom Project Notes 😊
Floss, well said 😊 & hopefully Crazycatlady2 will investigate further & be able to get a cleaner 🤞
Great work roundtuit 👏 Your mantra “IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONS FOR MAGIC TO HAPPEN” is definitely working 👏😊
Another break as time to make dinner 😉 DH & I are using an HF recipe card 🥳
Back later 👋

I cannot think of much more dangerous ,if you fall and injure yourself it will not help anyone

DS's room is now decluttered. Just need to get a few bits tidied away and reorganise the clothes drawers (can't be bothered with that at the moment; it's too hot).Digital:Almost halfway through the 17,000's now! DD's room is up next, along with the rest of the toys in the dining room. Shouldn't be too much there (in theory..).

Hugs to those in need and poor Elmo. What a sweetie.
Amazing amounts of decluttering going on- especially with the heat. I can't do anything when it is above certain temperature.
@Florenceem I have hired equipment for a donation from the local Red Cross for a donation in teh past. If you can't get it any other way this may be an option.
So a swift review of posts completed. DH and I cleared a few frogs off the list by checking how the campervan electrics and gas worked. WE bought it a feew years ago and we took some bits out leaving a mess and so we haven;t used it to live in. An expensive shed with occasional use for moving stuff. So that is done and DH has mad a drop down bed. Got to order a matress now.
In other news we worked tog ether to clear boxes from the shed and garage. Some have been repurposed, some save for DSis and the rest have been torn up and put in the recycling. I am counting 2 large items there were that many.
Finally a bag out to MiL of party stuff for her to store (paper plates, plastic cups etc. I store the greetings cards which she adds to and take away from sometimes.

Helloooo I’ve been awake for a while, too hot. Thank you for your input on cleaners - I am def going to look for one. I know what I want doing and that’s cleaning shelves, wiping worktops and cupboard doors, wiping walls and hoovering. The jobs that I basically find difficult bending over. Plus when it rains the tail of dog2 is so long he can decorate 2ft in height the entire house in mud 🤨
gardeining I love as you’ve probably guessed from my photos and when the weather is cooler I want to get back out walking again.
Really enjoying my new job still 🥰 mentally tiring but that’s heaps better than mentally stressful exhausting!
