I hadn't planned much decluttering today, but DS said he really wanted to do some just now
So we went through testing all the felt tip pens and then sorted out the pile of stickers and activity books. More stuff gone and the box of plant pots went back to the garden centre this morning.
DS is terrifying in his immediate decisions and ruthlessness. I think I should start hiring him out as a decluttering professionalDigital:

A lazy Saturday for us 😉 Down to breakfast at about 09:30 French time. Lots of coffee to accompany the croissants & pastries. Sat around chatting for a good while. Groups of people headed off on their bikes, DH & I returned to our room got our jackets (very overcast & looked like it was going to rain & headed off to the town square. There was a market selling various food stuffs & hundreds of flowering plants, with a bouncy slide set up for the kids & even someone selling candy floss 🙂 More importantly for me there was a van selling sweets - so I bought 5 x 100g - jelly snakes, sour cola bottles, gummy bears, milk bottles & fried eggs 😉 I had forgotten to buy old fashioned sweets before leaving England & everyone was a bit upset Friday night that there were no sweeties 😂 We wandered around for a while, had a coffee & returned to our room. I watched the 1st half of England v France ladies Six Nations. Then we went out again for another wander - had coffee & shared a pate & cornichon baguette. Back to our room - I watched Leinster v Toulouse rugby match for the first 40 minutes, then DH & I both fell asleep & woke up about 18:15. Quick wash & change & down to bar for a couple of beers & when everyone got back went into dinner about 19:30. Another leisurely dinner which finished about 22:20, lots of laughter & chat & all the sweeties went 😉 About a dozen of our party decided on one more beer but everyone else retired to their rooms & packed ready for an earlyish departure 🙂
Just writing this & hope to be asleep within half an hour 🤞
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend 😊

Hi all, yesterday I did messages and booked my blood test, picked up the blood test form, collected my meds from the chemist and did the shopping. All put away as soon as I got home. Then as the weather was pleasant I had coffee over the fence with ln and then some minor pottering in the garden.
Today has been a lazy day just pottering around in the house and have been putting things away or in the bin etc. OH has had a pupil on test so the car had to be cleaned resulting in the hoover, extension lead and various cleaning cloths just left in the hall. I went through a shelf of the large kitchen cupboard and got rid of some of the plastic tubs that have been breeding again
I gave the bathroom a clean and tidy. I struggle to understand how it gets so messy
The kitchen recycling bin emptied, lr recycling emptied and the kitchen bin emptied. New toothpaste into the bathroom. I have started sorting some clothes for my holiday. I know it's a couple of weeks away but I don't want to take loads so I am trying to sort them early. I usually leave it until the last day then end up taking loads of things I don't wear. Also I won't have a mad hour ironing before throwing it in the bag
. After my conversation with the Dr it reminded me to do a self care session so that was done as well.
@roundtuit glad I have helped. Yes it can be surprising when you start to write things down and prioritise them. What I did was just looked at my top priority and then wrote down what I needed to do to achieve it, or what needed to happen. Then I prioritised that list. Then I looked at the top priority of that list and broke that down into really small actions. I hope by doing this I can keep the overwhelm under control, actually do what really needs to be done rather than flitting around from one thing to another and tick a few things off my to do list. Good luck with what you have to do, hugs
@Mrs SD sounds like you are having a lovely time

Already had a shower & washed my hair + eaten breakfast. Put out in drive a plastic crate and a weights bench + a cat litter tray - I have lived here 25 years and never had a cat! Also put out a cutlery drainer + a draining board drainer + 2 lampshades + length of wood + length of plastic.
I have offered a pair of vintage sun loungers on Freegle.
My back is still hurting so no gardening today.
Had to charge my new Shark but had a little play with it before going to bed last night.

Florenceem where has all the clutter accumulated from? For example, if you've never had a cat, how did the litter tray arrive in your garage? And all the booze you've poured down the sink - I know you & MrF have signed your SA Pledge, but could your daughters have passed it onto friends as gifts over the years?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Who knows where the cat litter tray came from - no idea. This is stuff from the garage of doom - Mr F's domain - he would bring stuff home and put it in the garage - Justin. The booze - my Dd has taken what is okay - the rest is no good - clients and friends gave Mr F booze as gifts and he was in business organisations where they had raffles. Two people have asked for the sun loungers. I am busy going through bags of stuff that Mr F brought here from Mil's flat - he didn't like to throw stuff out - Justin again.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I've retrieved the third, and final, Sudoku book from the TARDIS. Apparently I started the book in 2005! (I wrote the date on the first puzzle completed.) The book I've just recycled was a Sudoku Diary for 2008. Hoarder? Me? Hmmm. More of a 'put it in a cupboard and forget it'er in this case.
@Liverpool_Anne I screenshot part of your original post to remind me that I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with myself as I know it has to be done, and then sticks my head in the sand. You really struck a chord with me. Right words, right time. Serendipity 😊
