Thankyou @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I know shouldn't think of days wasted but when the sun is shining I would rather be out there in it than blobbing about. Sometimes the desire to do something and the energy to do it just don't coincide.
Hugs re neighbour. Can't imagine why anyone would do that
@TC77 . If you are concerned about whether your local CS can sell your less than good clothes ask them if they want them for rags. Ours gets £4.50 for 7 or 8kg and they will get plenty of clothes like yours they cannot sell. Secondly. See what clothes you actually wear. You may find that you don't wear as many as you think. Let go only of those ones you don't like any more and if you need replacements buy at the CS. Not so much to lose if you do duplicate.
@Florenceem DH obviously needs to be where he is, Maybe kimiting visitors will help him recover faster. It can be as tiring for the patient to be on their best behaviour, maybe advise quick short visits. If it helps you to get rid of the clutter do it, but otherwise get some rest. Take care
Hugs @QueenJess You have done enough this week and what you have done is great. Packing it away was a great idea. When you feel better have another go.
So I have been busy the last few days. Mostly childcare. I did clear the side of the house a bit and so claim a bag for the metal I put out. The metal men cam by within 20 minutes and took it all.
Managed to do some front gardening today plus spent a few hours at the plot having a bonfire and doing more clearing of rough areas. It is starting to look good.
Hugs to all who need them and also those who just want oneKeep well all.

Also love the declutteri !
I am going v slowly ,memories keep getting in the way .
Decided there was no way I need a 3 drawer metal filing cabinet, there’s only me ,the solicitors has the house deeds and I’ve simplified my finances
so I bought a small metal filling box ,
working my way through the overloaded and irrelevant paper work ,having fires in the garden as too much to shred .
started on DH first - and they say women are hoarders🤣🤣
now on mine ,just found ,my mothers and my identity cards !!
will keep them - there are some things my son will have to sort !,18 -
Hi all, lovely lunch and home about 5pm. Ex colleague was chatting about his new job and has invited me and my friend E to visit when he has settled in which we are looking forward to. He is beginning to uncover a few issues but we are confident he will be able to sort them out. Nothing else done today
I have decided I will speak to my friend about the stamp but I am not looking forward to it as I know it will upset her but, as various people have said it does need investigating further.
OH has left the microwave in a mess after heating up some coffee and as I cleaned it only the other day words have been said. Tomorrow I plan to make some veg stew with the veg I know OH won't eat for the freezer so when OH wants meat I will have something easy for tea. I also want to make some carrot and lentil soup and maybe a mixed bean soup if I get time. I am also planning on a quick coffee with ln as I haven't seen her since before Easter though OH saw her today, hence the coffee in the microwave
@Florenceem hugs, thinking of you and Mr F
Off to bed now, hugs to anybody who would like one
Take care everyone

I have never been first in the day on here. Done the ironing and put the aired clothes away already. I slept okay but woke up around 3am and was awake before the alarm went off.
Bright day here.
I am going to take more stuff to the charity shop - call in at SA for some hugs and a chat on the way.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi everyone.
Sending hugs to all of you, especially those who are struggling.
I've not done any decluttering, but Wednesday I put the recycling out and food waste out.
Yesterday I did quite a bit of washing up, put some bits away and managed to vacuum, mop the kitchen and bathroom floor and give the bathroom a quick clean.
I also cooked a chickpea stew with an extra portion for another day.
I've really got to knuckle down and do the work for the functional skills in maths. I've not done anything during the half term so far and I've another week to go and I've several previous exam papers to do as well as online work.
I aim to try and crack on with the work and try to do some dusting and decluttering.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday: DH packed the bike & headed off to the Tip, back at 14:50. I did a 23 minute stint of paperwork. DH now having a bath as he is heading out for the evening to meet up with ex work colleagues. Whilst DH was in the bath I went to P.O. to buy postage stamps to Europe & post a birthday card. I did enquire about forgeries but the young lady was unaware & it seems only main P.O.s have the equipment to detect them 😔 Also picked up my weekly magazine & the last birthday card for this year - which has been written. DH left at 16:35.
DSis & I had ham, egg, chips & baked beans for dinner. Wudupa. DH arrived home about 23:15 by black cab. He had enjoyed his evening - too much to drink & they had dined at a Turkish restaurant 😋
984 - 989 Kitchen recycling, 3 newspapers, drinks cans, broken box file - recycled
990 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Friday up & dressed just before 11:00. Very overcast & dark outside but currently dry. DH up & about by 12:15 feeling better than he has any right to after drinking so much last night 😉
Thank you for your supportive & kind post Brie 👏
Great decluttering Florenceem 👏 So sorry to hear that MrF is still not doing so well 😔 Hopefully the transfer to a different & more specialised hospital will help🤞 I take it that the “looking haggard comment” was dgs way of expressing concern about you & asking you to get some rest 🙏 Sending as many hugs as you can cope with 😊
Lovely supportive post retiredinfrance 👏 What a great word “declutterati” - please thank your husband 😊 & please can you ask him for his permission to use it in future 😉 much nicer word than declutterers 😅
daisy_1571, Thanks for the support for both Florenceem & myself 👏 The noisy neighbour is more to be pitied than anything else although I haven’t seen her for a few days.
I know exactly what you mean bit_by_bit - it does seem a shame when we miss the sunshine 😔especially when it seems to come & go so quickly 😢 Thank you for your lovely supportive post 😊Excellent decluttering amidst all the childcare 👏 I’m curious, did you contact the ‘metal men’ or do they just come around on the off chance?
Excellent decluttering SuffolkSue 👏 You might be going slowly (I hope most, if not all the memories are happy ones 🤞) but the decluttering is getting done 😊 What a lovely find - identity cards 🙂
Liverpool_Anne, pleased to hear that you had a lovely lunch with your friend & that he is looking forward to starting his new job 😊 Hopefully the issues are tiny ones & he can deal with them swiftly🤞Re the stamp situation, fingers crossed that your friend is more annoyed than upset when you talk to her🤞 Am I correct in thinking that if OH had wiped down the microwave immediately only mild words would have been had 😉 Enjoy your soup & stew making 🙂
Florenceem, sorry to hear that you have had another sleepless night 😔 but very pleased to hear that you are taking some time to see your friends at the SA & getting plenty of hugs 😊
Excellent work Pennypincin 👏 Decluttering cleaning tasks is just as important as decluttering physical items 👏😊 Good luck catching up with the ‘functional skills in maths’ 🍀
Yippee, caught up 🥳 Now raining & very chilly.
Just to add to our current litany of ill family members, DH’s niece G (niece M’s younger sister) had a heart attack Tuesday night 😥 She was transferred from the local hospital to a specialist hospital on Wednesday & had her operation yesterday. The good news is that she is recovering well & her daughter is drawing up a rota for visitors 😮💨 So on that happier note, I will sign off & find some indoor decluttering to do 😉

I called at SA this morning and broke down - I am not a person who cries but I did today. Later I popped to the charity shop and went back to SA.
I phoned the new ward and Mr F is refusing to eat and drink. He was 71 on Tuesday and going out every day until recently. It is as though now he has no business - no need to live.
Off to the hospital soon.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
