I have got some frogs out of the way. I had a man come here to give a quote on the bulky waste collection and that is booked in for next week, I had the workman here to look to see if we had a burst pipe (we didn't, but found out where the manhole in our garden was) and I booked my chiropodist appointment for next week too.
Not much decluttering done apart from the bulky waste and usual bins and recycling done.

My new (reglazed) reading glasses have arrived at long last - what a difference - no eye strain! Also a friend dropped off a a mirror and some trainers . Sadly the trainers are too big so will donate to the CS. The mirror has a copper frame and is incredibly heavy - it's currently propped on a chest of drawers but I need to think of a more permanent solution. Looks nice in that corner though!
Tasks:

IN (running total 67)
68. New reading glasses
69. Mirror
OUT (running total 295)
296. Old pound-shop reading glasses
Nice paint job @vulpix
@Liverpool_Anne: As requested - photo of my Easter Tree - it had some larger eggs at the bottom which I took off and strung up across a mirror!

Hi all, got some things done today. Various text messages to arrange to see ex line manager to celebrate his new job. Coordinating several people can be hard work
. Hopefully we will meet up on Thursday. I have contacted the place where we are doing the hawk walk just to check it is still happening, they did say to do this when they emailed confirmation of the booking. It is forecast to be drizzle and the lady said wear weatherproof clothes, as if you would go anywhere in this country at this time of year without weatherproof clothes
. I then had a search again for some accommodation and there is some quite close but I still haven't booked it as I wanted to check with OH who was out and after tea promptly fell asleep 😴
. So that will have to be done tomorrow come hell or high water. I decided to check my meter readings as I am only getting estimated bills and I don't want an even bigger shock than I already have
. Considering the time gap between the date on the bill and today they are pretty close but as we have a smart meter I don't understand why they are estimated. I will try to contact them tomorrow to ask the question
Anyhow I emptied the gas cupboard so I could read the meters and had a sort out of the rammel in there. Much dust and carp and 1 box into the recycling, 1 dead torch and the front from the old fuse box, left hidden by the electricians when they rewired, into the hard plastic bag. I also found a few things like an aerial splitter that will be useful when we set up the 2nd tv and will save us having to buy onenow I know where it is
.
I tried to phone my niece but couldn't get an answer. She did text later to say sorry she had forgotten to call on Sunday and we are trying to sort a time when we can have a chat, hopefully before Easter.
@Siebrie, what a great system that allows you parental leave. I am sure your family will appreciate having you around a bit more and I imagine there are lots of people here who would love to be able to do that.
@Florenceem, please take care of yourself, hugs
@Vulpix I love the rocking chair and I can understand why you would want one. Good news about the bed company and what great builders. I wish they worked near me
@Mrs SD I doubt it will be the last stationary I find. I had a lot when I was working and I am sure I will find more in the other deferred decisions bags and boxes that came home with me when I left but they will be used as I still keep notes of things I need to remember, love a list and OH is always on the hunt for a pen
@bit_by_bit sorry to hear your MIL is still unwell, hope she is on the road to recovery soon
@EnergyShifter that Easter tree is lovely. I have never done any decorating for Easter but it is inspiring. Love the fruit bowl as well
Hugs to everyone who would like one, off to bed now
562 gas cupboard sorted
563 meter readings taken, task that was turning into a frog
Take care everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks to include MMiM - do this before I go to bed
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off -
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with ‘Urgent’ daily mail immediately & the rest at the weekend
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH went out for a 2nd short walk at 18:40 whilst I did the prep work for dinner - chopping, grating etc. We had the 1st HF meal of cheesy BBQ pork burgers with potato wedges & a rocket & apple salad with dressing 😋 After dinner DH made a soup using up onion, carrot, garlic, fennel, parsnip, swede, sweet potato, los of mash, cabbage, chicken & lentils & a chicken stock cube. Wudupa.

Liverpool_Anne, hope Thursday’s celebration of your friend’s new job is well attended 🤞Seems very, very odd that you only receive a bill with estimated usage especially when you have a smart meter 🤔Hopefully you will get a comprehensible answer 🤞 Excellent decluttering of the gas cupboard 👏Lovely 2nd half of your post 😊
Night, night everyone. Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep 😊

I’m another member of the Hard-to-Adjust-to-Clock-Change population: it’s nearly 9 o’clock and although I’ve had breakfast I’m still sitting about in my dressing-gown drinking tea and cuddling Canine Doggy, who is snoozing: we should be putting on our macs and going out for our walkies at this hour.I’m in absolute awe of all the clever, creative and artistic people on here, you are brilliant!
Sending all very best wishes to everyone who is unwell themselves, or has unwell family members, or both. I’ve been there and know how very tough and exhausting it can be, so I wish you and your loved ones all the strength and courage you need to get through it.

Lovely Easter tree. I have a box in the pantry of doom with Easter decorations. I may possibly look for it later. Thinking about them, quite a lot could go to the chazzer with a chance of being sold as it is the right time of year. This house has much less scope for seasonal decorations.I have decorations for everything, that's what comes from working at a school. I took a box of eggs from MIL's in various guises to the church shop so they might be able to sell them in the next couple of weeks. FIL made amazing Faberge type eggs from real eggs.
I am pleased your old colleague has found a new job LiverpoolAnne, not as easy as one might think, and that his family support him and are willing to relocate. Mind you living in the Lake District can't be much of a hardship. Absolutely horrendous news item recently about the Head teacher taking her own life after an Ofsted inspection. I have been part of them, some ok,one absolutely awful. The same school, same staff, same dedication, just someone on a mission to "unearth" flaws. There are so few poor teachers about anymore as the workload alone makes sure people wanting a cushy job don't even consider it. By the way,my builder does travel for a decent size job. We are not too far apart from each other. He keeps asking us to buy a property in Spain so the lads can spend a few weeks in the sun! I imagine a la auf wiedersehen pet.
Thank you for your kind words about the furniture. I love to bring sad old pieces back to life. I have seen something else now! I need to measure up the space before I commit. Then honestly That's it. I don't need to change any of the furniture I have. I need to concentrate on making things with my craft stash. My thing is always to make things from my own ideas. I don't enjoy a pattern or instructions or a kit. I do love Pinterest, see an idea, adapt to the supplies I have, voila.
Soontobeoap, we seem to have similar interests. You will have to come to Vulpix towers for a guided tour. Mind you do you live at the coast? I live at the furthest point from the coast as just about anyone in the country can be!
Siebrie, I just couldn't get the wording right, but great idea for parental leave.
I am going now before the laptop shuts down of it's own accord.

Morning All, a grey and wet day here. Even walked the school run instead of jumping in the car. It's only a 10 min walk but sometimes I'm lazy.
I am still decluttering in the back ground and keep a running total on my phone. Now up to 275.
I'm still off work and will have a telephone appointment tomorrow to review and extend my time off. Last week was rough, hormonal and anxiety went through the roof and over emotional. I kept plodding and got through it, but was horrible. Things have settled down a bit and I feel a bit more like myself this week. The state of the house is annoying me and I've actually got some motivation to tidy and sort it a bit. But will pace myself.
One exciting thing we are going back to Tenerife in 12 days to the same place as before but less than half the price of last time. We had such a lovely time and was so chilled.
Off to crack on with washing, ironing and chores.17 -
Just a quick post as I seem to be going round in circles and not getting anywhere. House looks like a tip. DGS4 a bit emotional this morning so just concentrated on getting them to school. Called in about my new glasses and they were there. They sent me a text before they were ready and said I probably wouldn't get a second one when they actually were ready as system wouldn't allow it? Hope that makes sense.
453-455 Three lots of ten things put away in ten minutes
456 Seedlings moved to bigger pots on windowsill.
457-458 Two bags of plastic to Mr T
459 All April birthday cards bought and ready
460 Last March card delivered by hand
461 Parcel posted for DS2
462 Contacted energy supplier by email as suggested on their letter - no response so far
463 New parking permits in car (NT and EH)
Spent some time doing family history - almost finished reviewing letter V so not far off my first recheck and cull. I have next stage of DS2's legal frog to do today - we may be seeing the light at the end of that tunnel and it is not a train coming the other way. Weight loss is slow but it's not going back up. Love all the pictures.
