1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
16:00 The hm vegetable soup was delicious 😋 DH has managed to do it again 👏 Enough left for us tomorrow 🤤 Sadly it can never be recreated as it was one of those ‘what can we chuck in’ soups. This one was based around a whole celeriac. The temperature is starting to drop & I have been resisting the urge to put the heating on 😉 Oops, I forgot the washing 😬 TD now on with quicker drying clothes, several tops draped over the banister, the jeans are waiting to be dried. One good thing about playing catch up on the cheerleading is that the TV is staying off until dinner time 😉 17:10 - DH has just gone out for a shorter second walk - wrapped up warmly as it is now getter bitter outside 🥶 17:30 DH is back & has hit his 11,000 steps target 🥳
Wow you have been busy grandmanerd 🤩 Not only excellent decluttering but also a great deal of tidying 👏 I am very relieved to hear that you are sitting down to do the bulk of the & then standing up only if required to complete a task 😊 Pleased to see that DS3 is still pitching in, even if it is not quite as much as you would like 😆
QueenJess, it might be time for drastic action 😉 Can you do some ‘stealth decluttering I.e. open the box of shoes & get rid of a couple of pairs 😂
grandmanerd, you have made me blush again 😊
Thanks for the advice wort 👏 Although I still haven’t watched him yet as I am trying not to get distracted 😉
GrannyKate, please let me know what you think of Joshua Becker 🙂 Sorry to hear that your innards are still causing you problems - possibly a little to do with the drastic change in diet 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck banishing the croaking 🐸 from your dining room table 🍀
EnergyShifter, all this praise has made me blush again 😊
vulpix, I wish I had known about the ankle exercises before grandmanerd mentioned them 😉 I fear it is way too late to do anything about my very thick ankles 😔 Maybe I just have really, really, really big bones 🤔😂 Dfw38 will be pleased - I think there are now 5 of us in the MMiM club 🙂 I rather enjoyed the ‘Tale of the Portly Dog’ & at least it had a very happy ending 😊👏
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne 😊 I do know that my DSis was/is pre diabetic & was told by the nurse to cut down on her sugar intake - mind you in DSis’s case it was probably good advice as she was having 3 teaspoons per mug of tea. I will give her her due - she has completely stopped taking sugar in her tea 👏
QueenJess, loving the shirt conversation you & Liverpool_Anne are having 🙂
Dfw38, perhaps DH can take a photo of each years uniform & make a small album 😉 leaving you free to dispose of the actual ‘wardrobe hogging’ uniforms 🤞That is a beautiful piece of work 😍 I am so impressed that your DS helped you find your sewing machine lead that I am awarding him a medal 🏅
Liverpool_Anne, ironing, the devil’s work 😱 I used to love ironing which reminds me I have a big pile to do 🙂 Looks like I won’t be getting into heaven then 😉
retiredinfrance, you are welcome 🙂 Might be time to resurrect Aesop’s Tortoise & The Hare fable. Yes, I did get distracted & just read it - I had forgotten how short it was 😂 As to your new attitude to cs books, I well remember the days you used to drop off a few items & return home with double the quantity in books - you were more a 1 out, 2 in declutterer 🤣 I am very proud of you 🥲 & am awarding you a medal 🏅 to add to your Gold star 👏
Welcome aboard the EDT Craving_space, lovely to see you 👋 Never too late to join the party…..hang on a second & I will beam you aboard 😅 Now we are comfortably ensconced in the TLC Carriage, I can note down your target & give you a pat on the back for a great start on your decluttering journey 👏Good luck 🍀
QueenJess, well done on getting your DH to do his own ironing & washing 👏 Hope it doesn’t take too long to dissuade him from hanging his shirts on door handles or have you given up on that idea 😉 Very impressed that you are tackling online account decluttering for the first time - a new skill 👏 & a medal 🏅 is coming your way 🙂 If you can keep up the pace of 26 per day you should be finished in about 10 days time 😉 Not just you - I agree it is terribly irritating to fold & then unfold socks 😉 - I just lay them together & fold them in half 😅 In all honesty, I think I would find watching paint dry more useful 🤣
Nice to see you MadamMim2013 👋 Wow you have been busy with your decluttering 👏 I might pop round later for a bowl of leek & potato soup 😉 Kitchen & garage decluttering is worthy of a medal 🏅which is on its way 🙂
GrannyKate, very well done on cutting down or should that be cutting out sweets, cakes & biscuits for 2 weeks 👏 Hopefully you are noticing a difference & now that you know about oranges you might be able to cut down on leafy green vegetables 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 So sorry to hear about your BIL’s stroke ☹️ I wish him a speedy & full recovery.
Dfw38, your DH was obviously feeling in a generous mood allowing you to pick the colour in your bedroom 😂 What a boon, that all 3 of your children are such good friends - long may it continue 🤞Well done completing your MMiM today 👏 I had visions of you getting the sewing machine out & abandoning all other task 😉😉 I am joking 🙃 Yippee to car being fixed 🥳 You are going to busier than usual next week what with Tip runs & decorating 😊 Although by the sounds of it your DS might be reluctant to return to his own room 😂
The best laid plans are always subject to the whims of furry creatures weenancy 😅 Sorry to hear that you are still so unwell ☹️ Hope yesterdays coughing hasn’t drained you too much 🤞 Hopefully everyone is up & about ready to set to with ‘operation moving things up & down stairs’ 🤞I am putting on my stern sorry pleading face & requesting that you stick to supervising proceedings 🙏
Well said Dfw38 😊
And breathe - I have caught up at 18:55 & hopefully I can get this posted quickly 😉

Mrs SD - I watched a couple of Joshua Becker videos on tube. I particularly liked '15 little changes you can make in your home to help it serve you better'. the parts about clearing dining room table and the concept of 'calm a space for reading.' I liked his ideas about the house serving you not the other way round.2025 Decluttering Campaign 672/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Another week of odds and ends, but once they’re cleared I may be able to tackle Areas of Doom. (Actually I try to avoid making plans of the “This is the week I’ll do X” as something always crops up to prevent its being achieved.)
23-minuters:
- paperwork (it breeds!)
- emptied, wiped, and rearranged dog food cupboard (under canine supervision 🐶)
- emptied, wiped, and rearranged one shelf of my food cupboard plus two door baskets
Decluttered:
- 3 side plates
- 1 part used bag of dog biscuit (causes a flare-up of a health problem)*
- 1 ditto of special veterinary food (manufacturer has changed the formula and it’s no longer effective)*
- 2 magazines
- half a pack of green lentils (BBE 8/2019)
- a quarter pack of brown rice (BBE 6/2015)
- 2 tins from emergency stash used up
- several miles (felt like!) of ivy pulled off fence - filled garden waste bin to the brim
- various self-sown, squirrel-sown, or intrusive saplings cut down to ground level (many thanks to @regenbue for the hint about ratchet loppers)
- uncounted-but-lots of emails from two ids
- 12 texts
*it was hard for my frugal mind to get rid of these, much harder than binning the lentils, as the vet. food is expensive, and there was a lot of the biscuit.
Best wishes for quick recovery to all who are poorly.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Evening All
I'm back after my brush with Covid, yes Mrs SD it was the first time having it, which is surprising as I'm a patient facing NHS worker, I was beginning to think my T-cells were Ninja warriors. But now I can join the 99.9% of my colleagues who have all had it some point over the past 3 years, some more than once. It was a bit of a harsh but I have survived, lost some weight as well despite doing nothing for over a week. Back to work today and keen to get on with some more decluttering this weekend. I have been trying to keep up with all your posts and everyone's doing so well, now just need to find a couple of projects for the weekend.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

My day did not go as I planned - I was going to do crafting - make some more bunny bags.
I got a call from a SA friend - could I go along and be in the hall as she needed to leave and there has to be a key holder there. So I left home just after 11 - expecting to be there maybe 2 hours. I got home just after 5.
It was hectic - door bell ringing - a woman so upset after a bereavement, someone had been arrested and wasn't allowed to use the toilet in time so wanted trousers. Another chap wanted socks and someone else a food parcel. Then there was a Ukranian English lesson and I was asked to do photocopies - only the second time of using the office machine.
Someone donated/dumped stuff outside - I think they do it to avoid a tip run. So I had clothes and stuff to sort plus I volunteered to prepare a huge pot of broccoli - to help the officer.

I had placements in Perth,Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Fond memories of a pub on the Perth road whose name I forget and sunrise on The Law, with baked goods from the bakery which was open about 3am.
2 exciting bits of news re the decluttering. first i have stuck with the rather dull 23 minutes a day focussed email declutter and have managed to get inbox down to 1200 (was well over 2000). 2nd bit of news - DS today exchanged so now we're arranging to hire a white van to drive his stuff down - it's been in my house since he moved to his new job in July. Stuff includes cat. and the days are getting lighter. life is goodMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Thank you Dundeedoll,it was Mennies . 🍻
MMIM completed but took an hour due to dropping the frame into the gap and in the absence of a tiny lady in her pj’s. (Forgot that detail earlier) Mr V had to squeeze himself into the gap to retrieve it!🐶
I have finally finished the curtains. It feels like a big job completed. When I was poorly the other week I spent the afternoon tidying my Pinterest boards. I have gained some pleasure from deleting the kitchen and the bathroom boards. Decisions made so no need to keep them.I am sorry to hear that some people are not well. Feel better soon.Have a lovely weekend. Vx:15 -
Just been speed reading and want to ask what MMiM is? Lots of you seem to be doing it.
My ex from decades again was a failed account but worked in the City wearing double cuff shirts that very quickly he was ironing them himself but had a good collection!
Up early today and having read all the 23 min efforts did an hour or so before work. Tidied top of chest of drawers ( may post a before / after) , dd2's floor of airing room/ study and then hoovered. Reckon 50 things put like with like , bits and pieces out , old masks, papers,
Meter readings done, checked appts and updated diary , I'm sure there were other things but forgotten:(
@EnergyShifter please be kind to yourself , dont underestimate the impact of all you and DS have been through - hugs15 -
Remember other things
Magnifying mirror broken - usedbon rare occasion I wear make up! Will need to be replaced
Fabric scissors returned - bought for my sewing course but tutor said they were rubbish and I bought more. Shop kindly accepted returned .
Huge frog for me moved forward. 1 hr 20min to get through on phone to court contact center of about 2 years emailing- apparently my case may have been over looked! Been going on for years with ex and been avoiding chasing up in person as emails acknowledged but no action.
Going to write my list for weekend.
New total - rounded
