@QueenJess, hahaha, yes it must be endemic and they were such a b*gger to iron. I eventually refused to do them as I think ironing is the devils work15

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday is quite dull but feels a little warmer. 11:38 & it has suddenly gone from dull to dark necessitating turning the light on 😬 Up & dressed before 11:00. DH is up & dressed & is trying out his first pot porridge 🤞 I have selected my MMiM 😉
Here goes
dND, thank you for allowing us an insight into your struggles with anxiety. I would like to commend you for taking the time to research & find a way forward 👏 What a great idea “……grazing, shaving little bits off at a time ……”
You have made an excellent start not only clearing a kitchen drawer but also a dresser - as well as making the decisions of what is happening to the contents 👏 Excellent work on the under sink bottles & another good idea to assign a basket for the ‘no idea’ items 🙂 Sounds like a lovely chat with your son & I bet it would have been longer than 2 hours if you had not decided on getting out the sledgehammer 😉 As you say great exercise 🙂 Skimming ahead to other posts, I can see that your question about ‘frogs’ has been already been answered by both GrannyKate & short_bird 🙂 Keep up the good work dND 👏
Thanks for the explanations of ‘Frogs’ GrannyKate & short_bird 👏
dND, I laughed out loud at your comment “Sometimes I eat the frog and sometimes I think it eats me!” 😂 Re the emojis - I use the ones on the keyboard rather than the MSE ones 😉
Dfw38, only for the dcs 😉 Has your DS made his choice of wall art yet or is he a unicorn lover as well? I don’t know what to say Dfw38, your so kind comments moved me to happy tears 🥹 & thank you for the 💐 & 🏅
Great decluttering vulpix, especially the 2 🐸🐸 👏 I too love the ‘memory jogging’ but I add to a list rather than dealing with it immediately 😔 I need to take a leaf out of your book 🙂
Thanks for the MMiM reminder Dfw38 especially the ONE 23 minute part 👏 If I can stick to that I should manage quite a few 😉 Well done on sorting DS clothes 👏 although not so good news that he needs everything apart from t-shirts 😥
skogar, MrSD has just eaten his porridge pot & all he can say is that “it was there & should do the job of providing useful carbs” 🙂 Apparently once the Walking Challenge is finished he won’t be buying any more 😉 You are a card - “stealth move upstairs” 😅
Florenceem, you definitely decluttered any cobwebs that might have been lingering 😉 Very pleased to hear that you managed to carve out some time for your crafting in between going back & forth between home & SA hall 👏 As you so generously spent your time helping out at SA & forewent your visit to the TLC Carriage, I am awarding you a medal 🏅 Those bunnies are gorgeous 😍
I have reached a perfect place to stop as DH has gone on his first walk (12:45) & I need to do a wash load 🙂 Will be back once I have completed my MMiM for today.

Love the bunnies, Florenceem!
Thanks so much for my gold medal, Mrs SD, it is much appreciated and makes me realize that plodding along does work. I am resting after my lunch having been out for groceries, petrol and a visit to my favourite CS.Took all the accumulated books and stuff to them , had a chat and got some more books……..
I am keeping a tally this year of how many I buy and how much I spend. This concentrates the mind and stops me overspending. An example today- time was I would pile up the books and say what do I owe you. Today after I had got my 3 for 2 euros I saw another one …… went back to the pile and swopped it.
dND- I’ve given up on goals too stressful and tended to lead to anxiety for me. Now I think…. There’s always tomorrow!
Hugs for those of us with troubles and keep safe everyone.15 -
Hi everyone
Bit late to the party, but I definitely need to sort my home, and I really need someone to hold me accountable!
I think I'll go for 365 things this year, hopefully I can catch up on the journey I've missed so far, then build on it.
So far:
3 magazines to work colleague, 1 more to find and hand over.
Aiming to declutter 365 in 2023
Current total: 3615 -
Liverpool_Anne said:@QueenJess, hahaha, yes it must be endemic and they were such a b*gger to iron. I eventually refused to do them as I think ironing is the devils workOoh... now I haven't ironed for 25 years. I always told DH that if he wanted his shirts ironed he can do it himself (and he does!). He also washes his own shirts these days and annoys me by hanging them on all the door handles so they fall off every time you walk through! Not feeling productive in an active way (in my defence I got back from the gym at 10:45pm and was wired before being woken up by a 6 year old at 6:30am wanting to get into his costume for World Book Day already
). So sat down for delcuttering today and managed a huge load of online account decluttering. I've never closed a single account ever, so this is an epic task. I'm below 250 now and although it's mind numbingly dull, I am determined. It will be finished this month. May get round to some tidying, washing and changing the beds later.
2,806-2,826 - online accounts deletedEdit: I keep meaning to ask, but keep forgetting.. but on the Sort Your Life Out episiode from last week, Dilly was putting socks inside out then folding the top over so it can be put in neatly and still see the pattern. Is it just me that thought it would be incredibly irritating to have to turn both socks back the right way everyday before you can put them on?!2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Whooo.. it’s fab to catch up with everyone’s hard work.. also great to read some excellent tips for keeping the motivation up and I now have new areas to declutter on my list!
Massive black bag out to charity along with 7 small carrier bags (one done every other day).
Decided to use up oddments in the cupboards/fridge so made an apple crumble, leek and potato soup along with a carbonara pasta bake! I’m on a 24 shift tomorrow so hoping it’ll feed “the boys” with less grazing on snacks 😆
The kitchen work surfaces have been blitzed today as OH will be putting in more sockets and a light switch tomorrow, figured it made sense to give it all a good clean off and sort any clutter so it doesn’t go back when he’s finished 😇
Found the tile adhesive/grout.. now to dig out the spare tiles from the garage.. will have a quick tidy/flinging session while there!
Apologies I’ve read so much that I’ve pretty much muddled who I wanted to say what to 🫣 so massive hugs, spoons and sticks to all who needs them..
Off to the garage I go.. 😵💫"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇14 -
@Liverpool_Anne - it was doctor who told me to cut down on sweets, cakes and biscuits - I think my biggest issue is I am 3 stone overweight and I love chocolate. No sweets etc for 2 weeks now. Doctor said to eat fresh fruit but not fruit juice. I will get some oranges for the folic acid. I think I need to cut myself some slack on the sugar - had a small bowl of ice cream with some stewed plums (from my tree last year).
322 Fridge emptied, wiped out and re-arranged - a few bits to recycling pot (DS2 used most up in his veggie stock yesterday)
323 Papers downloaded and read for tomorrow's meeting
324 Large quilt washed and on line
Agree with you about the socks QueenJess and the ironing. I stopped ironing years ago but late DH liked doing it whilst he watched TV - I have few things that need it so probably only get the iron out once every three months. GCs were up and bouncing around in the WBD costumes - they rarely get dressed with so much enthusiasm. I've done quite a bit today pottering around although the frog is stilling hopping up and down on the table. Clothes sorted and all put away. I had to wash a large quilt and was surprised that it fitted in my washing machine - fairly new machine so it must be bigger than my last one. Dreary but dry so it is out on the whirly gig to dry and air a bit. Window cleaner here now so money to pay out. My sister in US just rang to say my BIL had had a stroke - speech and one foot slightly effected so waiting for more tests and any treatment. She has been concerned about him for last few days as he seemed off balance and talking oddly.2025 Decluttering Campaign 665/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

14:00 I completed my MMiM - writing a shopping list of birthday cards for July to December which I pruned by checking the small stock of cards I had already bought on a previous shopping trip. Now have to plan 2 trips out next week as I try not to go out at the weekend (too many people not wearing masks indoors😉) DH has just phoned, feeling fine & has just visited Mudchute Farm - he seems to be particularly enamoured of the large hairy pigs 🤣 Will do a lap of the park & possibly treat himself to a coffee before returning home. DSis put in an appearance earlier to make herself a cuppa but has retired back to her room 😉 DH got back about 15:00 - didn’t treat himself to a coffee so I made him one when he got back. No more worrying episodes, just his bad knee hurting as he did 8,400 steps 😔
Dfw38, I think Denim Drift is a lovely colour & the curtain colour seems to be reflected on one of the walls when the sun shines through 😍
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Already well ahead of March’s target 🙂🙂
Excellent decluttering & sorting of paperwork & storage short_bird 👏 You are definitely making MMiM work for you 😊
Lovely cheerleading TC77 👏 Well done on sorting out your stationery 🙂
Liverpool_Anne, well done on catching up 👏- the EDT is moving very fast this year 😉 Your poor friend, RL can be so grim 😔 Sounds like your coffee/lunch date was just the tonic M needed especially with E there knowing the right things to say 😊 Hopefully you can find them to make this a fairly regular event 🤞Glad the footie was enjoyable 🙂 Sorry to hear that the lurgy has moved to your throat but very pleased that you have tested negative again 🙂 More excellent work on clearing your emails 👏Your cane toad must be shrinking rapidly & should be just a frog 🐸 in the not too distant future 🤞Lovely 2nd post - great comments & excellent cheerleading 😁 I must admit I totally agree with you about the parlous state of the NHS ☹️ & like you I am rather annoyed as well as bewildered about the TV adverts 🤬🫤 No wonder nurses & doctors are striking - they have enough to do without the extra pressure of people inundating the system because of the TV adverts 😖 Not quite sure what the answer is but I do know that privatising the NHS is DEFINITELY NOT THE ANSWER. I have jumped off my soapbox now 😉 Really looking forward to seeing Teddy 😊
Dfw38, you might not be an interior designer but you have a ‘good eye’ for colour 😊 I imagine DS is getting quite excited about getting back into his bedroom 😉 Good luck with your MMiM today 🍀Fingers crossed that you get the car back soon as I can tell you are chomping at the bit to make a Tip run 😅 Not sure what to say about “I miss spending evenings decluttering!” 🤔but in the scheme of things decluttering is probably preferable to decorating 😉
SuffolkSue if you cook and/or bake then you are crafting 😊 - I looked it up 😉
I have reached the end of another page & just realised I am quite peckish so will post this & treat myself to a bowl of hm soup 🙂 Back later.

Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, I love the colour too and just went with my heart 😁. I have wanted a blue bedroom for about 15 years but always went with what dh wanted which was grey, greige, beige etc so I think it was a bit of a shock to him how blue it was. I told him if he didn't like it he could repaint it (knowing his reaction) and he said along the lines of "not likely...." 🤭.
Ds is loving being in his sisters room, especially as he gets to be cheeky with eldest dd... last night both awake until 9 giggling 😬. Youngest dd has told me that she is going camping in ds bedroom when he moves out because she loves him and is going to miss him. All 3 really are the best of friends 🥰. Completed my MMiM today - sorted my trousers, t shirts and smalls. I am getting rid of everything that doesn't fit me for the summer. So have a pile of things for vinted or cs which I will allocate over the weekend. Just need to do dresses, might do that later if dc cooperate at bedtime. I am not left with a lot of things to wear but it is a more realistic approach I think. I have also got rid of all my dark colours. I have gravitated towards them, not consciously, since my mum died nearly 5 years ago. I don't like dark colours (will stretch to navy or dark brown), they don't suit my colouring - think Boudica- and I sat down yesterday and had a brainstorming session and realised that the stuff i have in my wardrobe isn't very 'me' for the most part. So out they go, because if they aren't helping me be 'me' then they have no place in my life.
I am going to have a look after Easter with 'real money' and see what I can get to fill the gaps.
Dh has just called to say the Car is fixed 😃 oh boy the tip isn't going to know what has hit it next week 🤣. I love both decluttering and decorating - I currently have a charmed life 👍. Going to work on 3rd make tonight- saving my energy for ds room decorating next week.2024 decluttering Campaign

Was planning on sleeping in a little this morning. Biggest cat had a different idea - all 20 pounds of him landed on me at the time my alarm usually goes off. So up to feed the cats - 2 indoor and 2 feral outside. Temperature 4C. In the 1950s, my father used to have the radio set to hear the frost warnings. Apparently had a cold spell then too. We lived between two orange groves. One grove was still there when we moved, but became a shopping center within a year, and the other had a housing development built on it. Very few orange groves left.
Also fed the dog. She ate the roast beef and the cheese. But if it says "this food is approved for dogs", she doesn't like it. Her favorite thing to chew on is plastic bottles. Trying to get her veggies in is a problem. She has refused to eat 20 kinds of dog food so far. Even if I leave them for her for several days. Maybe I can disguise it in a lidded plastic container?
Today was payday such as it is. Paid several of the bills.
Yesterday was coughing so much, didn't want to go anywhere. They would probably have run me out of the stores. But I got two roommates to go buy stuff for dog and for me. They went separately and didn't coordinate their lists, so bought extra of some things (lots of facial tissue and dog bones). But they will be used this month. Only major shopping to do this month will be TP and dry cat food.
Going to settle in and work on indexing a parish in Switzerland (where my great grandfather came from) until everyone else wakes up to help with "operation move stuff up and down the stairs". Still trying to get room ready downstairs before other roommate is out of hospital.
Hope everyone has a great day.
