@dND Frogs are all those jobs you put off - from a quote by Mark Twain.
If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first2025 Decluttering Campaign 466/2025 🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟

And also, where did all the emojis go? I've been AWOL too long!
doing one of the tasks that's been there for longest or
dealing with something small that has the potential to get out of control.
The emojis are more difficult to find on computer but are easily available on a phone - if you are on PC, have a look at the row above the box where you type your comment, there's a smiley with an arrow next to it and that gives you 16 emojis...‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
DH got back 17:10 having done 8,000 steps. Bored to tears at going round the park even with bonus of squirrels 😉 but I have got his agreement that he will do the same for the next 3 days having eaten a pot of porridge before setting off on his first walk of the day 😊 A sign of the times when you look at the photos I am posting - larger container held 4 large portobello mushrooms @ £1.55, new smaller container = 2 mushrooms @ £1.10. He was also lucky enough to pick up 2 packs of baby plum tomatoes @ £1 each. The mushrooms for tonight’s dinner have been peeled & sliced & I am ready to continue cheerleading 😊
Sorry to hear that you have been poorly Foofoopuppy 😔 but pleased that you spent some time in the TLC Carriage 🙂 Maintenance decluttering is something we all aspire to & I am always inspired to continue decluttering to attain that goal 🙂 As you are proving, if everything has a place then doing the cleaning & tidying is so much quicker 👏 Maybe you thought that the missing chess pieces would find their way over from Italy 🥲 sorry 🙊 One of the great mysteries - why could Cloud the cat not have decluttered something that wouldn’t be missed or was at least unloved 😉
Good work QueenJess 👏
Lovely cheerleading post Moorviews 😊 How gratifying that your gentle prompting has persuaded MrMV that decluttering is a good thing 🙂 although I did splutter at his comment “It keeps us stuck in the past” - we have a new expert in our midst 😂 Saying that, it is a great comment 👏 I so loved your comments to me that I have copied them into Notes - I especially liked your observations on the idea of a book 👏 How bizarre (I am being very polite 😉) that someone felt the need to ‘permanently borrow’ your jacket whilst attending a charity event 🤔
How beautiful Dfw38 😻 sounds like you might have found a new & relaxing hobby 😊
Well done on tackling a froglet florianatwobob 👏 Slightly ashamed to say that I get DH to deal with anything & everything to do with computer stuff 😔
Lovely post QueenJess 😊 Another one here to join you in admiring & aspiring to un-crowded drawers & cupboards 😉 We will get there 🙂 A bit of lateral thinking by Dfw38 has saved money & led to a feeling of satisfaction 🙂👏
vulpix, what a lovely way to look at our decluttering journeys “We are not just decluttering, we are making homes” - thanks to dND & you for reminding us 👏 😖 to losing your post 😖 I rarely type straight onto the thread now unless it is a very short post 😉 iPad Notes is my friend 😅
wort, I have just bookmarked Joshua Becker (rather than being distracted & listening to him immediately as I would usually do 😉) If he has inspired you to do so much decluttering then he might be just the boost I need 😅 Excellent decluttering 👏 and I do like your idea of decluttering certain items from your garage & borrowing from someone else, as & when needed 👏 Thank you for the lovely compliment about my olive tree 😊
retiredinfrance, good luck with your plodding 🍀 - it is always surprising how much decluttering one can get done at that pace 👏
Florenceem, as you were so busy at SA & are tired from all that walking, I think both you & MrF should spend a bit of time in the TLC Carriage 🙂
Taking a quick break to exercise my brain with a cryptic crossword 😉 See you all later 👋

Thanks @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, just going to do it for the dcs bedroom. But it is fun, great not getting bossed by the dc about where to put the colours 🤣. We love having you in our lives here at chez dfw, and believe me you're definitely helping and encouraging us to declutter. Your thread makes a difference to many people's lives whether they are actively decluttering or not. Just having a place where you can meet simarly minded people who have a shared goal and who are part of something bigger is excellent motivation and helps on the days when life gets a little rough. 💐 and 🏅 for you for keeping up with the epic job of cheerleading, inspiring and encouraging us all 😘2024 decluttering Campaign

@vulpix: Mini Missions In March. Using the handy 23 minute method of decluttering/cleaning or organising one mini area at a time. Want to join in the musketeers?
I have just completed #2 organising ds clothes in 2 drawers of tall boy in our room as when he gets back in to his room after i have decorated it his room is too small to have wardrobe etc so we are sharing. ( I have pinched the tallboy from dds as they will hopefully be getting a wardrobe v. Soon) the bonus of this is that I can see what he need for the summer.... the not so good part: everything except t shirts 🙀2024 decluttering Campaign

Hope Mr SD is doing OK and the eating before excercise is working.Little to report here - trying to go for small but sustained improvement in the hope that eventually there will be sufficient decluttering and tidying done. Hall looks OK so a stealth move up the stairs has happened. I decided that as it was a sunny day here - that I would walk into town. I visited the community shop and took a bag of stuff to the charity shop - leaving 2 started bags in the hall at home.
I started to do some crafting only to be interrupted by a friend wanting to collect something. This friend does talk a lot but she wasn't too bad today. So back to crafting - only to be asked to take something to the SA hall. When I got there - I was asked if I had some cake decorating items so I went home to get them. Then the officer came in from shopping but couldn't get everything that was needed. I said - I have that at home so off I went and got it and came back - good job - I live near to the SA.
I did manage to make 2 Easter items before I went back to the SA to lock up so I have done quite a lot of exercise today instead of resting in the tlc carriage.
Decluttering went quite well as I used stuff from my stash in my makes.
