Been at SA today - done 7,500 steps - feel tired. No cooking to do as we ate there.
Mr F is still sorting out the bags of recycling that he brought home from SA. I will go and run some water and tackle all the stuff that needs to be washed up for the recycling bin.
I have been asked to do the catering for Sunday's afternoon service.Day 1 –

My mission for today was to clear the space from the middle door (bottom of the stairs, in the middle of the house between the front room and the kitchen) to the chinchilla cage in the front room and if possible move the drawers and bureau (both ex m-i-l's) to their new places.
Started in my room as DS3 was downstairs
New month so new toothbrush and new eyedrops (2)
Had a shower + washed hair + folded the clean tarp and used it to line the bath
2nd visit a pair of turquoise curtains bagged and labelled, put in the bath, wiped the sink, some of the floor (droppedd the wipe) and most of the stool, put mask in soapy water to soak
Set up various bags - paper, bottles to go to the bin, recycling that needs rinsing, washing up, rubbish, cs (more clothes on far side of room when I get that far)
Dressed, strapped up my foot and slackened off the laces on my trainers to get it to go on over the bandage
two bedcovers (i duck egg, 1 deep teal) bagged and put in the bath
Set up 2 more bedding bags and labelled them
Changed mask water, rinsed and left top soak, picked up 2 sheets from my trolley, folded and put in bag
1 White bedcover, lap throw, pillowcases and duvet cover bagged, taken to bath and emptied mask water and wrapped it in a towel to dry
2 couch cushions and 4 pillows added to bath pile
Clean t-shirts and other items into drawers, spare coat hanger hung up
Went downstairs with 2 bags and a box (bag had pots, recycling for rinsing, some small food items, box had diy/ gardening and useful bits which need to be in the kitchen (and a pair of oven gloves?)
Moved my couch forward about a foot
Clothes from WM to TD (curtain hung up to dry)
Next load into WM
Sat to rest
Started by the chinchilla cage, did the cobwebs (fur clings to them so they look awful'
Brushed fur off outside of cage and a big lump off the couch
8 empty food bags collected and swept top of filing cabinet (used for chinchilla food, bedding, sand (they have sand baths)
5 shovelfuis of litter swept from under and around the cage and the ledges (not done inside the cage). Black towel they put under the cage went outside draped over the legs of the garden table (it might go in the WM when it's been rehabilitated)
Old throw binned (not worth the effort). Luckily the litter is not very smelly and not wet like cat litter (and my skirting boards and the floor have not been damaged)
Bottles out. Bag of litter taken straight to the bin, crammed in the top and weighted with 3 bricks
Monitor and two speakers moved to top of cube shelves
DS3's drawing bag and some other things put in spaces on cube shelves. Numerous key rings and badge into spaces in and on top of cube shelves
Bits from top of desk put in a basket
2pm stopped for lunch
Things that were on top of the drawers put on the couch
Box of 6 bottles of wine into the kitchen
Incinerator lids, bags and other bulky items put under the table
Desk swept and all the rubbish swept nearer to the door
Desk moved across, drawers moved into the space
Things moved from the top of the bureau
DS3 appeared so asked him to move the desk into the kitchen (space leading to under the stairs). I was fully occupying the couch so he picked up his laptop and went to work upstairs
Swept rubbish, attacked dirty patch on the floor (something vegetable but undefinable died there but was buried under three other bags when I found it) using cheapo squirty stuff and a scrubby pad (sat on a chair and rubbed with my foot) and a rag
Moved bureau across
Went in the kitchen, emptied and scrubbed small cube shelves (garlic paste with the lid not screwed on properly in one cube - binned the pen, will work on the storage boxes another day
Used a tub of bicarb and half a box on the moss in the backs, binned containers
Brought the bin back
Got the cube shelves part way under the desk and the insectutor fell off and behind.
DS3 will fish it out later but was in the middle of something
He says I've done loads today so I'm back upstairs. Trainers and bandages off. I have food, drinks and books to read. I have a space downstairs to sit and work. The drawers and bureau are empty so I'm planning on moving most of the craft stuff and some paperwork down there. By my count that 56 so now on 679/ 2023. I've exceeded my targets and lots of things used up or nearly used up.

I've been through some art materials - eight tubes of oil paint gone (used or dried up to nothing, others still seem to be ok, it's just the neck of the tube that's blocked, so they got a reprieve). I really need to use some of this stuff up before I buy any more, I've got a whole storage box just of paints and palettes. Also out was one pencil with a lead that broke every time I sharpened it, a handtowel I was using as a paint rag, old lip gloss and foundation, and a broken clothes hanger.
I did buy some earrings and another lipstick at the weekend so at the moment it's 107 out to 17 in. I've also finished a couple of books off my shelves and started another bookswap bag.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining
July Grocery Challenge £115.57 of £250 spent
Declutter 7 things (net) in 2025. Done, now trying to keep it even (5 over at present).13 -
It's miserable when you know you have to get on with cleaning and moving furniture and you are so sick you can barely move. Several of us here are at the point. We can't even ask for help to come in while we are sick. But have to totally declutter two rooms and switch them over the next couple of days. The mattress and the bad frame of one room have to go out for pickup later as they are in terrible shape. Will need to get new one somehow.
Trying to clean kitchen and bathroom at the same time. Have discarded twelve items in bathroom dated 2018 or before.
To top it off, the weather here is playing games with the Internet. Has gone out over the past couple of days. Will pop in and then out and stay out for a couple of hours. Lucky if it works for a half hour before going out again. Tried to watch a zoom class this morning and was cut off eight times. Will have to watch the video later. Have another zoom class in an hour. Will see if it works.
The rain is supposed to stop and stay away for a few days. But the cold is expected to stick around. About 15 degrees lower than normal here.
Can't give up now though.15 -
Feeling very stiff today after my swimming marathon (well it seemed like one to me). Rushing around today and didn't fit lunch in - so hungry I ate a dry bread roll and half a punnet of grapes from my shopping whilst waiting for DGCs outside school.
310 Phone call made about new history group
311 Helped DGS4 with this homework after taking pictures of random hazard signs and printing off
312 Confirmation received for my voucher win from photo/printing company. It had been delayed a couple of weeks so they doubled from £75 to £150. Account set up tonight and I have a year to use it up but don't have to do it all at once.
313 Some old raffle tickets found and recycled - I guess I didn't win
Time to get small people to bed. I have tidied my large box of unused postcards away somewhere but no idea where - I use them for competition entries2025 Decluttering Campaign 672/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

2ood sanitizer gel
1 pile tat from sewing drawer- I’m rationalizing all sewing and haberdashery supplies.
2 bundles of ribbon
1 uu face cream
1 ood face mask cream binned as too off to use.1 uu travel shampoo
2 birthday cards- using up stash where possible
1 pile used wrapping paper- no more being saved as I don’t use it any more and if I need done I have a new roll.
1 pair pants- I have a rota of five pairs which I am trying to wear out and this is slowly working as I am now down to two of the original set and hand to add from my stash.
3 piles of admin paper which I use to line our kitchen compost bin. This is working well as I am working on our annual tax return and every time I work on it I select admin papers for recycling hence three pile.1 big pile of cardboard. We used to put this in the compost bin or in the recycling but now we put it in Commune cardboard store which is then sold for extras for the primary school. Only snag is we have to store it in the garage until I have a big pile.So the reductions in stash of cards, pants, haberdashery , confidential documents and toiletries is going well.
20 books- here great progress as more out than in so far this year.
Totals 36 + 76=112/365
Congratulations to Mr SD, on achieving all those steps at this time of year. Hugs to you all and keep safe everyone.14 -
Just wanted to say Foofoo, if you can still access your succulent you can make lots of new plants. Cut a bit off. Leave the cut to dry and scab over. Replant. Free plants.Thank you Grandmanerd for the advice with the heavy curtains. It is my fault that they were measured wrong. It hurts my feet on a ladder. I will live with them for a little bit. The 3rd curtain is folded up on the foot stool until I am in the mood to tackle them.Vx:14

First 2 23 minute sorting sessions completed - I'll be concentrating on the "doom bags" generated when I was sorting out for the carpet cleaners. Hopefully away for a couple of days this month weather permitting so might be 2 23 minute sessions 1 day and 0 on others..
Resulting in:
1085-1103: items to bin
1104-1107: items to recycling
Deferred decision 187: belt to charity shop bag and some underwear to bin.
