OH wants to rearrange the lounge and we've been window shopping for a new sofa. He was actually considering paying someone to take away the ercol sofa we currently have rather than sell it. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday is another overcast dreary day ☹️ Up & dressed a bit later today - by 11:30. Todays MMiM is to repair a pair of DH’s jeans. I spent a few minutes hunting for scraps of denim but then remembered that I had binned them the last time I went through my sewing supplies 🙄 Good news, found the old uncomfortable pair of jeans which DH had donated & I had been too lazy to cut up at the time😂 So my MMiM will definitely take longer than 23 minutes 😉 Second bit of good news - the wheelie bin was finally emptied 🙂 (usually Wednesday mornings). DH is signed up to the council website but no explanation as to why there was a delay 😔 Now we just need the recycling wheelie bin emptied, usually Thursday mornings, but of course not so urgent 😉 DH has had his porridge pot & will be off on his 1st walk shortly, DSis is doing her washing & I have wandered around emptying bins. Just had a 5 minute session with my massager 😉 13:15 DH has just filled the bird feeders & is now wrapped up warmly & setting off on his first walk of the day.
759 - 761 Office, lr & DSis’s bedroom detritus binned
762 - 763 Office recycling, small cardboard box - recycled
🤩 you have been busy Liverpool_Anne 👏 one medal 🏅 is coming your way. I am pleased to hear that the sore throat has mostly gone but 😒 to the cough returning. I had a rueful grin about your OH suddenly producing another book of stamps for the swap out scheme after 2 months of prodding 😉 I think you might need to order another Swap Out form just in case OH finds a few more 😅 I am the ‘keeper of the stamps’ in our house so I only had to remind myself for 2 months & if I have missed any it will be my fault 🤣 However, worth remembering that we can use the old stamps until 31st July. You do get a lot for your £3.09 🥳 Thank you for such a lovely cheerleading post 👏 I especially liked that the nurse advised you to eat more vegetables - hopefully she noted down the rather useful information that you are a vegetarian 😉 By the way, I have a feeling we might not be alone on the ‘Do NOT privatise the NHS’ soapbox 😊
Great decluttering oceanspirit especially completing 2 more frogs👏
Excellent decluttering of weight GrannyKate 👏 With such good reports of Joshua Becker’s ideas, I will listen to a couple of his videos (hope I like his voice 😉) whilst dealing with todays MMiM (have already found & tested a pair of earphones) The one minute theme sounds really useful 🙂 Good news that BIL is home 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 Are you sure my lamp wasn’t there with your box of postcards 😉😉
Dfw38, your DH’s response to my idea is not quite what I would have expected but go you for putting your foot down 👏 🎊 With the car working so well & being able to get to the Tip, I can see you scouring your home for even more clutter 😂 I well remember the chaos when our local Tip was reopened after lockdown 😱 I just hope the ‘numpties’ don’t block book the appointments & have found something else to whinge about 🤞 Good luck getting your dc to do their homework 🍀 As an aside, I was generally a good girl & did my homework Friday nights so that I had the whole weekend to do what I wanted 😉
Well said daisy_1571 👏 The only downside with having an appointment at the Tip is when something crops up & you cannot make it 🧐
Muddy_Walker, I was hoping you had been in the TLC Carriage 🤞 RL does have a habit of getting in the way of decluttering 😖 but well done on the mental decluttering & the massive FROG wrangling 👏Congratulations on your fame & please don’t be embarrassed as I am sure it will help lots of people 😊
Great decluttering Blue_Doggy 👏 I was rather spooked when reading your comments about dieting as you were describing me (apart from the good bit about eating fruit 😉) 👻 I agree that dieting programmes always make me want to eat 😂
Dfw38, well done on winning with the homework negotiation 👏 Your DS is a little scamp isn’t he 🥲 Oh cripes - that is an awful lot of clothes - 120 bags 😞 & the fact that your DSis had to bin 80 bagfuls must have been heartbreaking 💔
charlies_tribe, Dfw38 will be pleased to have another Musketeer in the MMiM club 😊 I wish we still had the ‘twirling Martin’ emoji as if anyone has earned it, it is your DS1 👏 However in lieu of that particular emoji, I am awarding DS1 a Gold Star ⭐️ Good luck with DD3 🍀 Excellent work decluttering & tidying 👏
Moorviews, what a wonderful post 😊 I might just have to hand over the cheerleading 😉 …… on 2nd thoughts probably not as I enjoy it so much 😊 Excellent decluttering & tidying 👏 The fact that you only have to do a quick hoover round after having visitors is a testament to how much decluttering & tidying you have already done 🥳 Enjoy your afternoon of TLC & I will be round later to warm myself in front of your fire 😅 Re the gapping in your post, no need to apologise as it doesn’t matter - 10 posts per page regardless of size of post 😉 Very useful for me when I fall behind on the cheerleading 🙂
EnergyShifter, So pleased to hear that getting things off your chest, spending time in the TLC Carriage & getting a good night’s sleep have all come together to lift your mood 😊 You must remember that being kind to yourself is a really good thing to do 😌
😖 to losing your post TC77 😖 A busy time in the TC77 household 🙂 Excellent work on your main food cupboard 👏 and Good Luck with the rest of the tidying 🍀 Such a kind thing for DD2 & you to do - hosting an 18th party for her friend 😊 (my thought was that her parent/s are possibly grappling with clutter hence no party at their house 😉 🤔) Sorry to hear about DD1 ☹️ - everything crossed that the hospital can be contacted quickly & can offer reassurance 🤞 Good luck with your 🐸🐸 🍀
What a marvellous post grandmanerd 😊 First things first - a very gentle rebuke from me - I really do not believe that anyone on this thread would consider any of the tasks that you have done as ‘housework’ wagging finger emoji You are far too hard on yourself 😔 I am always astonished at how much decluttering, tidying, cleaning & gardening you manage to get done, especially when you are ill 🤩 The Gold Star ⭐️ that I am awarding you is not so much for the decluttering etc but for your positive comment “…. the house didn't get in this state overnight so it won't get fixed overnight. I'm pleased with my progress, I feel much more like my old self although I am being very careful about how I do things and when it's time to rest” I am also rather chuffed for you that DS3 is stepping up & helping you get things done 😊
Excellent decluttering short_bird👏
QueenJess, when I type in iPad Notes, I have to remember to just use the return key once, as although it looks like there is no space between comments to each person when it is copied to MSE thread a line gap magically appears 😉
Madbat60, your tea dress is Beautiful 😍 You are very talented 😊 Will we be seeing you on the Great British Sewing Bee?
Brie, I am boggled as well - Ercol is a really good seller 🙂
Crazycatlady2, you ARE making progress as you are not increasing your clutter 👏
DH has just phoned for a 2nd time & is on his way back. Both of us are very happy that he found a food van & treated himself to a bratwurst & onion bun 😅
Now I will start my MMiM 😉

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger well I didn’t mention the new clothes hubby got for starting new job or that DD volunteers at a charity shop on a Saturday and comes home with something every week 🤷♀️ 😂15

Internet going in and out all day yesterday and gave up about noon. Didn't come back on till this morning and has gone out a couple of times.
Good things about yesterday, the Jehovah's Witness couple came by yesterday. I wasn't able to talk because of all of the coughing. She went to the store and got me some zinc tablets and cough medicine and dropped it back as a present.
Roommates actually moved some things downstairs. Still a lot to go. But getting there.
And one of the people I am helping one night a week with genealogy went to the chicken dinner place near us and brought enough food for several days as a surprise for us.
Have been on a "cleaning my own room" frenzy this morning and have binned about forty items, separated out what is to go to relatives, and have a lot more to do. Started about 5 am because couldn't sleep.
Need to post this before the internet goes out again.15 -

After, 90% of jewellery and other things I never use its tidying first and will declutter another time. Did get rid of make up and some things last year. Have more jewellery elsewhere, again don't wear
