hugs @Fizz2015
gorgeous day here so mum and I have just cleared the outhouse (houses the washing machine, tumble drier which i now never use and wonder whether time to say farewell) boiler (small combi) wood and tools. It's not a huge space (probably 2 washing machines by 3) and I want the builder to come tell me how to make it more usable - we'll also ask him to put up a shed - but for now what a difference so that is most definitely yesterday's 23 minutes, today's and a bit more. Stuff now in black bin or ready to go to tip or ready to go to community garden.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

just having a break. My shed and sentry box emptied and filled with the garden furniture and my gardening stuff. Large box of storm pegs can go. Don’t live at the top of a windy hill anymore and I am not washing for 5 now either. We didn’t do the storage shed as it started to drizzle. The big wash down in the sitting room begins. From the curtain rails down. Sooty dust is on its way out.Vx:18 -
Just checking in. Managed to put washing out today - just going to fetch in. Went swimming this morning for the first time in ages. Started another puzzle - they are very relaxing. We should have a selection in the TLC carriage. A hospital where I used to visit late mum used to have one on the go in the visitors room and anyone could have a go.
223 Another point for munching the bulk of the big frog today. Just some tinkering then it should be ready to go on Tuesday.
224 Bought two new LED lights for redecorated hall. The old two into the recycling bag
225 Replaced CO alarm with new one as the old one faulty

Finally decluttered MiL's hand made cape that she never wore to an ex colleague that I hadn't seen since last April. She absolutely loves it so that's a nice thing. I was going to charity shop it but didn't think it would be a very sellable item but it suits my friend's style. I've told her to enjoy it and not to think twice if it needs to go to a CS eventually. She cluttered me with a new cat scarf and earrings that look like her calico so that's a bit of balance.
And I introduced her to Macklemore's Thrift Shop. If you don't mind a bit of ripe language it's well worth a view - nicely critical of paying over the odds for designer stuff when you can get something great from a chazzer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I'm still 12 pages behind even though I'm only skim reading through.I have another shoe story. When DH was best man his best shoes that he retrieved from the wardrobe on the morning of the wedding fell to bits as soon as he put them on so had to have a hasty trip to town to purchase a new pair.Vulpix, it was several oafes ago but, beautiful quilt.A bit of stuff collected for the jumble box and also a few items for the small electrical section at the tip.A few of the jumble items may be tried on EBai first but at least they are already in the jumble box if they don't sell or I don't get around to listing them.114-118 5 bits of random envelopes, leaflets, town magazines.119 small christmas pud made with leftover mixture but had a spot of green mold so it went out for the birds.120-126 10, 9, 7 books most with out of date info that haven't been touched for over 15 years. Including 2 on working from home, 2 on computer stuff and 3 for A level Business Accounts. Was nearly 10 books but DH decided he wanted to read the Darwin Theory book and DS 2 others. (Hazards in a Chermical Lab and Analysis of Metal Finishing Effulents!)127-128 Spiderman tin purse & Thomas the Tank money box to jumble box129-131 DH also wanted to keep the TV amp booster that is no longer used so it went in the cupboard but out came an old freeview box, headphones and huge ancient TV remote. there are other old remotes in the cupboard but that is enough for today.#13 2025 Cash Envelope (or online) Saving Challenge

Wow @Dfw38 . I had it easy. That was awful. TC77 has a great point about groups. I did Duke of Edingbugh and also volunteered with several disabled groups. Those people accepted me and gave me confidence. I did still have periods of being a mouse inside until recently though..
I am glad the funeral went OK @Liverpool_Anne
Big hugs @Fizz2015
You arranged a great send off there @Madbat60
So today I have managed to do the rest of the upstairs and it is visitor ready. I won't be doing much more decluttering until March now as we have our Canadian visitor over for two weeks from Sunday. A lot of stuff has gone but more is boxed up and will be sorted one by one until they are all gone.
I will have that tidy house one day but I will be glad just to keep on top of things now.
Take care everyone.

I spent another day in the TLC carriage today ! DS is going away to visit friends in a far flung destination at the end of next week - there was an issue with his flights and he'd forgotten to upgrade his insurance to worldwide and I got dragged into the whole process of resolving it in spite of the fact that I know no more than him. It wore me out so I had a little lie down and ended up sleeping all afternoon. I am still wondering if I am coming down with something as I have a scratchy throat. Normally I wouldn't be concerned its just that my cataract op is scheduled next week & I'd have to cancel it if I've got a cold. I just need to accept that I have no control over it.
I did manage to have a quick tidy round this morning though and took a couple of bags to the CS (mostly to get away from DS' questions).
Tasks:
2 x bags to CS
IN (running total 39)
40. Basket from CS (just the right size for something)
OUT (running total 222)

I was bullied too for a few years in secondary school - "mean-girl" stuff. Not as bad as some have described. Felt miserable at the time though and my hair started to fall out due to stress - which led to further bullying! Horrible to see your child go through bullying Dfw38.
Sending hugs to everyone who needs them

Hi all, today I started at lunch time after a disturbed night so I had a bit of a lounge in bed with several cups of tea and a read. First I tackled a job I really hate, unblocking the outside drain
. It wasn't a frog because it really can't be left. This drain takes all the household grey water and the rain water from the back of the house and the conservatory roof so when it gets blocked it just makes a total mess. I have a drain cover but the leaves from the roofs end up blocking it and this time of year when I am not out there regularly it takes it's opportunity to flood the world
. I only noticed it because I had put a load of washing on and happened to look out of the window at the right moment. So a bag full of gunky smelly leaves into the bin. This is the only job that I scrupulously wear gloves to do. Then I washed the gloves thoroughly with bleach and very hot water, poured some more bleach down the plug hole and then washed my hands and even used some antibac hand Gel justin
On the way in and out I had noticed a largish cardboard box full of I knew not what in the conservatory. Of the 3 boxes I had identified to put the craft stuff for school in 2 proved to be too small but this was defo big enough. So I grabbed it and started to rummage through it. There was quite a lot of cellophane in there collected from flower bouquets. Now I know why I kept it, but I thought no if I need it I am sure I can get more, in fact I probably have more in another box. So the kitchen bin was filled with it along with some other carp that was easily reachable. Also in the box was treasure
. 5 handmade cards bought at a craft fair, along with a pair of earings, lovely glass owl hanging thing and a wooden button that I know what it belongs to
. The real gold was at the bottom though. 2 bottles of very expensive vodka and 2 bottles of blood orange cointreau that I really love but it is not readily available. I got it from my nieces dh who used to work for the company who make it so a very happy bunny here. They have been put at the back of the drinks cupboard to be drunk slowly and savoured until we can get another source, they sometimes have it in large duty frees. I also emptied the big box underneath that had been kept I think because it was very pretty but had been squashed by the box on top so straight into the recycling bin. I then filled the recycling bin in the kitchen and the lr with various bits of packaging. I found a gift bag that has never been used so that was put in the right place along with a small amount of wrapping paper found. Then I took the box upstairs and opened the door of the room of doom. I, luckily knew where most of my card and paper stock were so after a bit of moving things around I brought out 21 paper storage boxes. They are specific boxes that hold about a ream of A4 paper. I did a quick pass through them all, putting anything I knew I wouldn't use into the cardboard box and consolidated as I went along. I have now got 7 empty cardstock boxes. I think more can probably go but it is a start and the cardboard box is so heavy I can barely lift it so it has been put into a giant shopping bag and will go to my friend on Thursday. I will count it when it has gone but I am claiming for the task
Some stuff was put in the bedroom recycling bin. I still have to sort the washing out as I got completely distracted
So
319 dry washing put away and 1 load in the machine.
320 - 321 disgusting drain cleared and bag of carp in the bin.
322 large pretty box in the recycling
323 kitchen rubbish bin emptied
324 kitchen recycling bin emptied
325 lr recycling bin emptied
326 bedroom recycling bin emptied
327 sorting through 21 boxes of craft paper and card
Well I feel much better for that
Right off to sort the washing out and sort something for tea
Take care everyone
