Morning allI've just decluttered a pint of tea. Planting my stepson and my ex-husbands ashes went well yesterday. They're in a beautiful spot in the woodland part of the Crematorium. Now to sort out entry in the book of remembrance for both and the stone. I'm a great believer everything needs to be done properly. I don't know what I would've done without the funeral directors, they're a local family firm and they were fantastic. I know you can do your own funeral but this was a sudden death and really traumatic. Luckily I stayed good friends with my ex and knew what he would have wanted, including his old regiment being there and a bugler playing the last post.
Plans for today are general pottering. I've got a tea dress to make from material i already have, so I shall trace off the pattern. I think I'll make a mock up first to check the fit. I was gifted some duvet covers from freecycle and they're great for that.20 -
@vulpix absolutely love your fluffy cat 😻
I had 3 items of clothes come into the house but put 4 in the charity bag.
Work have asked my to organize the cleaning supplies, also the colleague lounge and lockers and I’m looking forward to it 😂 how sad am I ! I spent ages awake last night trying to decide how to do it.
Need to go and put washing out on line though it’s looking rather grey out there.
Hugs to all that need them.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.16 -
Hugs to all on here. It sounds like some of you are going through a tough time of it. I was bullied in my first year at secondary but I got moved up to the top class so I got away from them. I also had a boy at university make rude comments about me. He was such a loser, lol. Bullies are pathetic people in my opinion. It is weird as one of his friends tried to hit on me a few times at uni (I had a boyfriend back in London, now my husband) and he lives near me now. I have seen him a few times since I moved from London to the seaside. He didn't recognise me but I remembered him because of who he was friends with.2025 GOALS

love the blanket dfw38Love the 'room of doom'. my spare room is one of those and that is the main area to tackle.Haven't managed anything much for the last few weeks as work etc has been busy and it is so hard to keep up with this thread but I'm now off for half term so hoping to make good progress although I do need to spend some time with DM. She isn't a horder unlike me.I'm hoping to fill the large box for the jumble sale and maybe book a dump trip for the end of the week.
Actually you lot are motivating me and I can't sit here any longer reading the thread so I'm going to get on with my day and clearance kitchen up even if that counts as 'normal' stuff and nothing to my 2023 although I hope I'll find something to add later.#13 2025 Cash Envelope (or online) Saving Challenge

Hello lovely people, some uplifting and encouraging posts since I checked in last night. Madbat, how satisfying for you to be able to give your ex a send off he would have wanted. x
Dfw, hugs for you and your daughter. No consolation but it is the experience of so many children. Both my girls endured previous friends not speaking and never knew why. Horrible for them and worse for you as the parent. I wouldn't wait to speak to the teacher, do it again. It may be too late to repair the friendships but an easier atmosphere could be achieved.xx
Wort, I could declutter Fluffy to you no problem. Could even do a 2 4 1 and throw in Fomo. Fluffy is so sweet natured.Even getting Mr V up at 1:30 today to give him a biscuit eating demonstration. The cats are brother and sister and he is so soppy, always trying to be her friend. Hard nope from her. Not sweet natured to him at all.
So an unexpected declutter yesterday when the plumber was here. Last year one of the cats brought a live mouse in. I threw them out but couldn't find the mouse again. Moved every stick of furniture out, I eventually forgot about poor mousey. Plumber took the skirting board off and found poor mousey literally petrified. Poor thing. He had squeezed through the smallest gap.
Well! today the road is being resurfaced by who knows as a Thank you for the roads patience when the culvert that goes under the road was renovated last year. I thought they were just going to chuck some stones in the potholes. Noo proper job.We will be posh with our fancy private road. No more craters filled with rain water for us.
We have a lot to do today. The sitting room needs scrubbing and everything putting back, curtains etc. But... before that I want to empty the storage shed and bring some bathroom renovation things to the front and put DS' big chair at the back as it now blocks the newly positioned radiator. I also want to empty my shed and put the garden furniture in that was in the outside loo. Somehow I need to also fit in DD1's BF road bike which we are storing whilst they live in The Shetland isles! Coming out of the shed is the Ercol alike rocking chair that I am going to renovate or paint for DIL.Tetris. Also need to go to my Mothers and do some clearing there before her tenant moves in. So in preparation I am snuggled in bed with 2 cats.

Morning, sending hugs to all who need them.
Yesterday didn't quite go to plan, dd3 went to school after her chest infection but dd2 got up with just a slit for an eye and absolutely refused to go 'looking like this' the swelling went down through the day but was swollen right up again this morning, think it's possibly a sty.
I did make the most of it and made her do another hour in her bedroom with me. We have a bin liner of rubbish and a large gift bag of things for the recycling bin. It's sat in their room at the minute as not sure it will fit in the bin this week. Will update the list once it's gone. She then made chocolate buns for tea (school refuser trying to convince me to home Ed her, it's not something she would usually do).
Ds2 is still poorly but just sleeps on the sofa, definitely not as demanding as the girls were. No-one else has come down with it yet so hopefully we will soon be bug free.
DH is now off for 2 weeks, it was supposed to be our bedrooms turn but at the minute the plan is just to finish the boys room. Any extra will be a bonus. I'll be back later once DH is up and we've made a start.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday was quite a good day - I finally got around to cleaning the items (from DH’s office) for the CS & they are all bagged up ready to go 🙂 Will count when delivered. Also I managed 2 tasks from Wednesday’s pub visit list 😉 Checked which books missing from The Shipyard Girls series (took all of 2 minutes 😅) & DH has ordered them. The second task took longer - the side panel of DH’s office desk was still covered in the old sticky back plastic so I peeled that off in bits as it kept tearing & scrubbed it clean 🥳 DH needs to check if it needs any adjustments, then we will stick on the new covering & put back in place. A small frog off my own list dealt with - the odds & sods of old style postage stamps have been gathered together, form filled in & DH posted when he went shopping 👏 (I am still waiting for the new style stamps from the first form I sent - fingers crossed they will arrive soon otherwise I will need to buy a few 🤞) Dealt with my mail. Dinner was the 3rd HF meal - rump steak & Dauphinoise potatoes with garlicky green beans - ok but nothing to write home about. Wudupa. One more task completed before bed - sorted out fridge los 🙂
544 - 545 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
546 - 547 Kitchen detritus, broken ear buds - binned
Saturday is dull & overcast. I was up before 9:00 a.m. but am still in dressing gown 😔 Started the cheerleading catch up but for some reason feels like I am wading through treacle - cannot seem to really get going 😔 So I will watch a bit of TV, drink my 2nd cuppa, get dressed & come back later 😉
Excellent decluttering of both physical items & frogs donna73 👏 Good luck with your Vinted listings 🍀
Brie, of course you are allowed to blame him indoors when you can’ find the scissors you want when you need them 😉😅
Dfw38, it is such a shame that there is a need for food banks in this day & age 😔
Blue_Doggy, I like that theory “little pools of cleared space gradually spread and become lakes as the bits in between get cleared” - thanks for sharing it with us 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 & well done on reducing the chaos to 5 piles to deal with 👏 Surprising really how quickly 23 minutes passes so you are probably doing more than 23 minutes on your forays into the garden 😉
Now, now vulpix - you are having so much work done that it is no wonder you cannot keep the dust from settling 😔 Now that you are on the final push I am sure that cleaning will become easier 🤞Atleast you can have lots of cuddles with fluffy cat 🙂 Hope that your MiL is doing OK & can enjoy seeing MrV 🤞Don’t work your new plumber too hard 😉 after all you do want him to come back 😅 Re the scissors, MrV probably needs 2 pairs in his studio 😉
Blue_Doggy, an excellent number of scissors 😊 Perhaps the spare pair of nail scissors should be kept in your handbag 😈
Dfw38, your MiL sounds like a lovely lady 😊 Perhaps you can concentrate on just one of your DH’s ingrained habits - the one that ‘troubles’ you the most 😉 Once a new useful habit is formed it might be easier to tackle a 2nd one 🤞Pleased to hear that 2nd DD is feeling better - we under estimate the healing powers of a double chocolate cookie 😉 Hope you managed to get into the kitchen BEFORE you started laughing at her impression of you 😅 Good luck with wallpapering 🍀
QueenJess, well done on leaving the comforts of the TLC Carriage and doing such a large amount of decluttering 👏 Isn’t it great when the ‘ruthless’ declutterer gets free rein 😂 Excellent work all round - your hard work is paying off with tidy rooms all over the house 😊 Enjoy your time in the TLC Carriage & hopefully you will feel a lot better & able to come out & enjoy the weekend with your family 😂
Mail has just been delivered but no sign of my replacement stamps 😔

Havnt been on here for a few days but have been reading along. Decluttering and cleaning has been going well bit had slowed down as having to walk everywhere is slowing down momentum. Bullying is just so damaging..
I spent years being the “butt” of jokes due to my size (being a big girl in the 80’s was really no fun) even the P.E teacher joined in! 🤬 Still, like it’s been said, I am the person I am today because of my trials and tests and I now am immensely proud of ME.. (That’s taken a whole heap of time/therapy to feel that way too!)
Anyhoo.. sending so much love to those who need it and may you find the best solution for you/yours to overcome the meanies (my old nana used to call them this) as no one way fits for all.💕Oops.. meant to say that I’ve decluttered a large heap to the tip, two giant bags to the charity shop (including a friends contribution 😉) and posted out two mahoosive parcels.. whooop.. I have floor and garage space again!
Have my eye on some other bits to fling, they’ll have to wait till in the week..
Only thing in was 3 bags of shopping, needs must as the boys seem to have eaten the toilet roll this week 🙄😆
Hope everyone gets to find some kind of peace/calm this weekend.. 🙃"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇18
