Evening All
Well my morning started well, the cat woke me up at 5.00am by patting my face with his paw, because he was hungry and it was an emergency, apparently. But at least i was up nice an early to get on with things, silver linings and all that. I finished my second round of paperwork decluttering, shredded more than 300 pieces, recycled about 30, now down to 1 1/4 boxes from 6. There will be a third round and I'm hoping for less than half a box. Which I hope to review on a yearly basis, so I don't end up with 6 boxes again.
I decluttered the bottom of the coat cupboard finally, organised all if the tools and DIY stuff, threw out a carrier bag full of rubbish. Decluttered 4 catch all baskets on my shelf, reorganised into 2 baskets. A large olive wood rosary, a piggy bank and 2 new keyrings to the charity shop. Another carrier bag of rubbish to the bin.
Batch cooked, I know its not for everyone, and I can't eat like this when my partner is here as he calls it leftovers! But it stops me eating takeaway, or worse cereal for tea when I'm too tired ro cook. It keeps me eating healthily and this week it's helped me declutter 1kg or 2.2 lbs.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Had a busy day but managed 9 items decluttered.
Church this morning then I came home - Mr F walked home with a Church friend who had fallen near our house.
I brought home a jacket and repaired it for a Church friend.
Back to Church for Cafe Church - I went early to help prepare the food.
Busy clearing away after the service when someone came in to say one of the elderly members had fallen on his way home. So I went with another First Aider to find J sitting in a Chinese take away - bleeding from his accident. Seems he had tripped over a rubbish bag - the sort that are tied on - seagull proof - black and he hadn't seen it in the dark on the pavement. Bless him - we tidied him up and I waited with J while my fellow First Aider went to get her car - taking him to A & E as he had hit his head. Think he will have some lovely bruises and a black eye tomorrow.

@GrannyKate - my aunt Carole used to go to that pool. The diving board is still there - there's been a bit of a rumpus recently about the development of the site around it because it's listed. A neighbour also took Carole to the airport (with her own daughter) when they heard it was closing - just to have a look around while they still could. I've been on a tour - there's a small museum in the control tower.
Decluttered 13 books in the end. I couldn't actually get down to the waiting room where the bookswap is as the trains aren't running and they'd gated the platform off, but the guard I spoke to offered to take them off me and do it later.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 17.5 coupons remaining

Bed time Mrs SD:12

Hi all, go to bed Mrs SD
.
Well I have managed to get some carp shifted eventually. I had to go to Mr M as I had got a 2 good to go box so did a quick list to check after I had looked what was in the box. 3 bunches of bananas, 8 pears, punnet of strawberries, bag of oranges, bag of peppers, bag of maris piper, 4 baking potatoes and a wholemeal loaf. All for £3.09I had maris piper and a loaf on my list so win win. I had left OH at home with the gentle suggestion that it might be a good idea to have a look at that pile of stuff and if the other glove appeared to please put it with the 1 on the coffee table so I could put it in the cs bag. I am not sure how much was done but by the time I had unpacked and put away the shopping the recycling bag in the kitchen was full so something must have gone. We did have a conversation about a dead CO2 detector along the lines of does it need new batteries? No it's dead, I tried new batteries and it didn't work so I bought new ones. It has been binned but it was a struggle
I also brought home some nice coffee and we went into ln taking a bunch of bananas as I know she likes them and 3 bunches was too many for us even though we both have at least 1 every day. After tea I had a care session and tackled what I think was the start of an ingrowing thumb nail. I had caught it in the handle of the secateurs a while ago and it was starting to be painful. I had to grit my teeth but I just couldn't face the thought of waiting to see the doctor and then letting someone else poke around
. Then I just did some crochet while watching tv. Is anyone else sad that Happy Valley is finished? Didn't send the emails so they will be done tomorrow. So
302 kitchen recycling bin emptied
303 bunch of bananas to ln
304 care session
305 uu hand creamlast one of the half used tubes and I can start on the new ones I got for Christmas
Off to bed now
Take care everyone

6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was delicious 🤤 All cooked perfectly (usually something is over cooked 😉) - beef, roasties, carrots, swede, cabbage, kale, sprouts with bacon & chestnuts drizzled with maple syrup, Yorkshires & finally hm gravy 🙂 A couple of hours later we had trifle that DSis bought on her shopping trip 😋Wudupa. Another beanie (Boysenberry & black) is 3/4 knitted. Watched a 2006 animated film for the first time - Flushed Away - thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂
450 - 456 Kitchen recycling, 3 cardboard boxes, plastic bottle, drinks cans, paper packaging - recycled
457 - 458 Kitchen & DSis bedroom detritus - binned
I will catch up on the cheerleading & then go to bed 😉
Excellent work Madbat60 👏 Very impressed that you conquered your fear of the overlocker 👏 Now I need to borrow some of that courage to learn how to thread my sewing machine & get some practice 😉

Great work painting nu1isit? 👏 and your 10 minute decluttering session was very productive 👏 The only trouble is I now have ‘All That Jazz’ running around my head 😉
Dfw38, I always find the sewing up of anything the most time consuming 😉 & tend to put it off 😔 Nice to hear that your DH was pleased with his medal 🙂 How very wicked of you not to mention 100 boxes 👿🙃 probably way more than 2023 items 😂 Excellent work Dfw38 especially the decorating prep & ceiling painting 👏 A nice relaxing bath on top of all that activity should definitely mean you get a good night’s sleep 😊 Thanks for the reminder 😉
Not quite caught up but as several of you have reminded me to go to sleep, I will post this & go to bed 🙂

Morning All, up early as DD decided to wake me at 5am asking for breakfast. Was promptly sent back to bed. Then OH was up at 5:45am for work. Going to be a long day and plenty of caffeine!Busy weekend, I am trying to declutter little and often now. So many areas in the house that need it but will face one at a time. Work pressure were very stressful last week, along side my MIL breaking her wrist on Wednesday after falling down our garden steps.
Focused on my wellbeing at the weekend went for a lovely walk in the hills and on Sunday spent a few hours in the garden planting bulbs (Better late than never), followed by afternoon shopping for birthday presents for daughter and stepdaughter.
So let's see what this week has in store, I'm focusing on my wellbeing, saying no and pushing back where possible with work. Will aim to move more, walking, swimming and eat well. Will control the things I can and let the others go.14 -
Morning all - catching bad habits from MrsSD as I didn't go to bed until 2. My home phone has died again completely - DS2 will check it out tonight - I don't know which plug is which but he may have to ring provider. I had a nice restful evening starting a new jigsaw - very therapeutic. I have one of those jigsaw cases that zips up so sure I could spread myself over a table in TLC carriage.
I dropped off all the things I counted out yesterday except the CS bag which I may get to do today. I have a small but frequently put off frog 🐸 to tackle so that will be my first job today once showered and dressed. DD asked if she could have towels I was getting rid of for her dog so will put those in a bag for her. When I had house to myself I used to have a drawer in spare room for things to give to children and grandchildren but lost that now. Will need to find a new home so I keep them together. I realised I can put swimming towels back where they belong in top of airing cupboard so that is a job for today.
@diminua - my mum told me that my dad dived off of the high board at Purley Way and landed badly and she never saw him dive again. He was a very good swimmer and the one positive thing he took from 6 years away in the War was swimming in the Mediterranean Sea - he was not so keen on the English Channel and North Sea after that.
A bit cold here this morning but not as bad as a few weeks ago. DD planning a UK holiday late June which includes me so something to look forward to.
207 Porch cleaned out, things put where they belong, windows cleaned, tat binned etc
208 Old doorstops from kitchen (those springy things) binned - new ones sitting on side for DS2 to fix.
209 Item found from Christmas game returned to DD
Onward. Don't sleep too late Mrs SD then you will be ready for bed earlier tonight.2025 Decluttering Campaign 607/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟
