The vibes must have reached DS2 because he completed emptied his room today and a large bag of tat was binned. DGD4 also cleaned the room she has here after a sleepover last night which involved three 10/11 year old girls. I put my head round the door once and didn't look again. I cleaned my room as well. Decided to CS some things that weren't selling but taking up space.

Hello!
I think the few days left of January are trying to cram in as much nastiness as possible from looking at some of the posts…….big Welsh cwtches to all who want them! I was a forces child so lived everywhere but married a Welshman and have picked up a lot of sayings! And no - I can’t say the name of that village that has the really long name 🤣🤣
Decluttering wise - sorted the drawers in one of my bedside tables. Several bra pads have been turfed out, odd socks, manky socks and have a plan for bras and knickers…if they are uncomfortably or are trying to kill my boobs after a days wear they will be flung!!!!!!
Caught up with a friend - she has a very mischievous 2 year old lab who sounds like my dog 2 at that age. I was laughing so much I was crying 🤣 I consoled her with the fact her dog will calm down in another 2 years or so…..
small amount of shopping done and got a bit or ironing so onwards….might look at the bathroom drawer or I might not….🤔⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Been to Church this morning and rescued some of the books that were going in the SA black bin - destined for landfill - they don't have recycling facilities. Some of the books are now in bags to the charity shop. The remaining books are in the garage and will be taken apart to go into paper recycling.
I am going to the afternoon service so may rescue more books.
No decluttering has happened here today but not surprising as it is a busy day.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Shopping list written & third beanie sewn up. DH has set off 2:00 p.m. & was back again about 30 minutes later as he had forgotten his wallet - he was very cross at himself 😬 Round 2 of cheerleading 🙂
A very enlightening monologue vulpix 😊 Not only useful for all of your fellow declutterers but also a record of how far you have come on your Decluttering Journey. You must be so proud 🥹 Thank you for sharing your experience & observations 👏 one medal 🏅 on its way. Re the book restoration, do any of your children/grandchildren have very fond memories of this book? If yes, then perhaps you could look at as an heirloom 😊 I can imagine picking it up & the memories washing over me 🙂 Had a rueful smile at your observation that “you couldn’t muster up enough emotion to make it to TV” Sadly I think you are probably correct - most of the stories are tragic although occasionally, like the story of the chair that JFK sat on in 1963 when in Ireland, it is a happy memory & of historical rather than just personal significance 🙂 I can well believe that you have retained your ‘girlish good looks’ 🙂
Floss, I was missing the ‘summer’ in the colours conversation but within a couple of posts we have had 2 summers 🙂 I am with you on the observation that sometimes the colours one likes are not necessarily the colours that suit 😉 You have been more ‘measured’ in your actions than I would have been 😅 so I admire your restraint 😊
What a fortuitous purchase Brie 🙂 Occasionally ‘Justin’ proves his worth 😅 Hope you had a lovely time at the party 😊
Wow that was brave Soontobeoap 🤩 not sure I would ever attempt such a huge task 😂 We have a CofD, a 3 drawer bedside cabinet & two wardrobes 😬 there would be absolute chaos if we ever tried it 🤣 Excellent decluttering 👏 worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way.
Floss, my preferred method when sorting clothing is by item of furniture 😉 Not as efficient way as sorting by category 😔 Good luck with your coat/outerwear decluttering 🍀
stellata, embrace the sadness because it is also a chance to bring all the happy memories into focus 😊 Your mum will remain in your heart forever 🥰 I remember classified ads & slightly off topic I once went on a very strange date from replying to a lonely hearts ad. I was in my mid to late twenties & we went to a pool with water slides 🤔 Oh my goodness, the light bulb has just come on 🤣 - it was obviously the nearest he could get to seeing me naked 🤢 - how embarrassing 😳 Great news about your job being safe for another year 👏
Dfw38, it is very sad that our families can cause us such grief 😔 Your children seem to be pushing boundaries - perhaps they should be put on the naughty step whilst you retire to the TLC Carriage for a few days 😉
Welcome back Rootle, lovely to see you 👋 What a good start to your 2023 decluttering campaign 👏
Nice to see you back joanie 👋 the TLC Carriage is such a wonderful place full of magic & wonder 😉Your decluttering mojo coming back is a bonus - it was obviously feeling lonely without you 🙂Excellent work in the cupboard of doom 👏 The filing is probably your job because you are so good at it 😅
Everything crossed that the last piece of furniture from your current round of decluttering is collected on time, QueenJess 🤞 Do pop into the TLC Carriage, you are definitely in need of some rest & relaxation 🙂
Sunday has still not brightened up 😞 Taking another break to potter about & will be back shortly to continue cheerleading 🙂

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger we all spent time on the naughty step 😂. All friends now, although boundaries have continued to be pushed today. A raised eyebrow did the trick!
Yesterday dh came home from work and told me that we should spend some of his unspent Christmas bonus on decorating. He knows me well enough (20+ years) to know that what I need is a project to occupy myself with so that I don't dwell on what is happening at the moment. So yesterday evening the 2 dds and myself went to b&q to get the paint for the bedrooms but disaster....they had no tins of lavender. Much to-ing and fro-ing up the aisles, and sibling disagreements, exasperated sighs from myself.... counting to 10 repeatedly in my head and the dds decided on a colour: dusted fondant. A pinky version but not too pink and should be suitable for a number of years yet. Ds is having Norwich skies and we have denim drift 🎉. Have to go back for ceiling paint, wood paint and any other bits I need (going to raid the stash tonight) tomorrow with ds and I am hoping to start very soon. Decluttering wise I have been running through the children's tall boys (dds share 1, 3 drawers each and ds has a smaller one) and have pulled out anything that isn't worn often, will not fit next winter and observed that after Easter they will probably need kitting out almost entirely for summer! I try to keep their clothes minimal but they seem to have duplicated 🤣. Going to put in my 'measurement' box and aim for 4 boxes by tomorrow night and start February off with double digits!
Well done everyone for keeping up the hard work! Think how much clearer our houses will be by sproutmas day!2024 decluttering Campaign
