Hello everyone.
I've had a little bit of a mini lazy day for a change. Didn't have to be at work. Done a few loads of laundry, dishes, making the food, and a mini declutter. To be fair, I've spent most of the day watching rubbish and reading in the living room with the youngest DD. My DW was at work...
Today's decluttering was: Old Duvet set, Old broken jeans, and a Haynes car manual (for a car I no longer have).
In work tomorrow, I have things to tinker with, and stuff tackle 😬.
Have a good Sunday for me 😂.😇 Sealed Pot Challenge: Member No: 20: 2012 = £92.14; 2013 = £45.27; 2014 = £54.70; 2015 = ; 2016 = £70.38 2022 = £10.58 2023 = ???? 🍀 2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD 65/365 so far. 👾 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 🍀 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 201216 -
Evening All
The good news is that I have now gone through all 6 boxes of paperwork and there are now just 3 1/2 in total. Now I've gone through all 6 of them and faced all the sensitive things that were holding me back from doing it I think the next round should be easier and I already gave in mind what I should keep and what should go. I think should keep all pension stuff, all p60's, all council tax, 5 yrs bank and credit card, not sure about utilities and mobile phone. The paperwork from my parents is about half a box, but I intend to shred all of it if my brother doesn't want any of it. The paperwork from my Uncles death earlier this year is still ongoing. I shredded 66 pieces and recycled 2. I took a large bag of recycling out also.
The bad news is I have not started on decluttering the desk or the bottom of the coat cupboard, but to quote Scarlett O'hara, 'tomorrow is another day'.
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can

Hi, Thank you LiverpoolAnne for the dolls hospital info,I will look into it. I remember my Grandma taking me to the dolls Hospital in Manchester when I was about 4. I was very disappointed that there were no rows of dollies in bed.
I tried to do my colours but I can't get past page 3! I think I am Autumn though.
I feel wrung out tonight,it's been an emotional day. I am slinking off into the TLC carriage for a bit.

@gettingthrifty please speak to the PALS team about your experience - if things aren't raised with them, future Drs will be learning bad behaviours from people like that registrar.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

thanks @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I finally managed a bit of recharging today. Didn't manage my 23 minutes Tues - Fri but today have well and truly made up for it. My office is down to 2 bags to sort, 1 box to put away. Absolutely thrilled. 2 boxes for the CS tomorrow, lots to the recycle, some back to original owners, and my bedroom (where i do my sorting) is back to tidy whoop whoop. So this was beginning of the month. The white tables are now in mum's office (she moved in late last year bringing the 2 white tables with her) and she is very happy, the bureau desk is from my bedroom making my bedroom less cluttered and the table is from my old office (now mum's), the two big bags are the ones still to sort, the plastic box in front is the one with things to put away in the office, the small chest of drawers is from DD2 as she also has the declutter bug

@DundeeDoll that's fantastic, hard work has paid off,
I remember my doll going to the doll hospital in Leeds around early 70s!
So, bag to cs and some rags (may have posted this already)
DD2 agreed to let me help with her room, or rather take out cod she never uses and put in a rail. We made a pathway and cleared that corner of her room, 2 rubbish bins filled, I hung up clothes and a bag of things she didn't want, a duvet and scarf for CS so a new bag to be started. We decluttered some peach schnapps (think a friend gave it to her) and we played golf on her nintendo switch was fun and decluttered some stress for everyone.
Think all the card folder (from decades ago) will be recycled.
Have made space on shelves in my office (A little) as empty folder put in another place (keeping with DDs both still studying).
Decided some things will wait til the summer, but going to take photos of costume duty and post on a whatsapp group with DDs so they can say yea/neigh without me having to go and ask at a time happy to be interrupted. Also sorted some packaging and final bits of Xmas stuff away and lid found for a box. Hoping I've started turning a corner on attitude. Thank you all for inspiration and support.
Going to make a list for tomorrow - counted
Also abit more filing - counting as 10
Also moving things out from 'office' where carpet will go down thursday. Apparently £10 for every item moved for me so will ask DD2 to help with last few items when I get there
Putting like with like - why a tablecloth in the hall. Found that some storage boxes fit in hall to corral things so that's a good use for them. Gloves put together, - probably around 30 things so counting as another 3 so 18819 -
Hi all
@Millie2008_2, yes the B12 jabs generally are for life though it might depend on why you are deficient. I am veggie and the main source of B12 is from meat. You can get it in marmite but I don't like it. OH loves it so we always have it in the house and I keep trying it but my taste buds haven't changed yet
@SecondStar, great start, and good luck for Monday
@gettingthrifty, a doctor with students present? That's terrible, he's just showing off for the audience. I have encountered a few like that and honestly I take no prisoners with them, I think I have a symbol on my medical records that says don't try to bullsh1t this one or she will eat you alive. How dare he when he must know how vulnerable you are feeling. If you have to see the same man again I think I would say that to him and maybe suggest he goes on a course to learn how to deal with people. Try to picture him in your mind dressed in something ridiculous and remember he's only a person not a god and you are a much nicer person than he is. Mentally camp on the high ground and don't give him an inch of it. You may find if you are seeing different people next week they will be much nicer, don't let this one horrible person put you off getting the treatment you need. If you would like me to come with you my battle armour is ready, just say the word
lots of hugs
@nu1isit? I remember those Haynes car manuals, I had one for every car I owned when I first started to drive and couldn't afford much, all the cars were sheds and broke down fairly regularly.
@DundeeDoll that's brilliant and you are right taking a before and after photo really shows how much you have done
A few bits in the bin in the kitchen and the last food xmas gift finally sorted so a biggish cardboard box into the recycling that I would have previously kept for justin as even now I can imagine uses for it, so much packaging for 6 smallish treats, honestly. Found some ribbon and bows that have been put where they live. After tea I just did some knitting but I am sure it will be finished tomorrow and I should be able to get them posted off on Monday or Tues. Then I will have to buy some baby yarn for the baby blanket I want to make for OHs niece as I have nothing suitable in my bag of yarn, but it will be used fairly quickly
So
250 cardboard box, counting as I know I previously would have kept it
Take care everyone

Hi, today has been somewhat good. The repairman was only about 10 minutes late - but he fixed our phone and was able to speed up the Internet with a better connection as well. So after 22 days, my phone is back. Immediately (less than 10 minutes!) followed by a robo-call! So far, just the one though. Only other call was my sister saying she would be home from Mississippi tomorrow - just in time for another batch of rain.
I then called our previous phone and Internet provider who fell down on the job - and I will get all of the last payment back.
Watched a funeral on zoom. It was in Mississippi which is a two-hour time difference from here (1,912 miles or 1.61 kms). Good service. Learned a lot about him and got to see his son, my sister's brother-in-law, on the screen.
Worked on my book on the computer. Working on Chapter 6. Have the basics down for 24 chapters, but adding to it and making sure it makes sense. My goal is to finish it by the end of April. I actually have too much information so may be turning the extra information into books of their own.
One bag of trash out (about 50 items) and another to go out tomorrow.
Picked up the cans in the roommate's bedroom(the one with the broken shoulder). Filled in a large kitchen bag. Now out waiting in the garage with our other cans to go to the recycler's.
Retrieved the pool filter basket from the pool. At least the dog can't eat it when it is in there. So far she only stands on the steps. Hasn't started swimming yet. It was 6C out there this morning, glad I didn't fall in.
Hope everyone is having a good time decluttering.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ I have an acronym - I.R.I.S. being Identify, Re search, Implement, Sign Off
3. Implement a new sleep/wake up regime - start going to bed earlier (target before 2:00 a.m.) get up earlier (target by 9:00 a.m.)
4. Deal with daily mail immediately
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. If I spot a mini task deal with it immediately e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
7. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
I have spent some of my time away productively 😉 I emptied the fridge, wiped it down (decided to use wipes from the specialist fridge/microwave packet - not many left now 🙂) & then restocked it. Sadly there were a few things to be binned - 2 ood dairy products (washed & recycled plastic pots), 2 tins of meat products (no intention of eating & no idea why we bought them 😬), the contents of a couple of bags of unusable green stuff added to compost bin, 3 small plastic sauce pots - emptied, washed & put away. Stopped for a bite to eat & a cuppa - toast with marmalade (used up the last of the two opened glass jars of marmalade (washed & recycled) Most of the fresh vegetables have been left out & will be washed & prepped ready for tonight’s dinner or the freezer. DH is currently doing some DIY in his office 😉 DSis is watching TV in her room BUT has done a bit more decluttering - another bag of detritus & a pile of bubble wrap & 3 cardboard boxes 🥳 She is obviously channelling her inner Stacey 😂 Almost finished another beanie. The only other thing I did was transfer DH’s paper supplies from a dented filing cabinet to an undented filing cabinet. The dented one is going in the shed (once it has been decluttered 😉) - it has shallow drawers so perfect for seeds etc Dinner was takeaway - DH had a kebab, DSis had fish’n’chips & I had pie & chips.
368 - 377 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, 2 plastic pots, cardboard packaging, 2 glass jars, 3 cardboard boxes - recycled
378- 383 Kitchen detritus x 2, large bag of bedroom detritus, 2 tins of meat product, bubblewrap - binned
Another busy Friday weenancy 🤩 You are amazing - constantly learning & adding even more skills 👏At this rate you will soon be a computer genius & a cell phone wizard 😊 Quite frightening the amount of information that is out there especially if you are even slightly famous 😥 (I don’t think there is anything about me as I have never subscribed to Facebook or any other social media - my only online presence is MSE 🤞) Hope the phone company turned up on time 🤞 Spring - eternal youth & renewal 🙂
Surely you should be counting phone calls & texts etc Liverpool_Anne 👏
Excellent decluttering Fizz2015 👏 I checked back and you had 12 items + 3 appointments booked - so 15 to add = 107 Well done on resisting the lure of clothes buying 👏
Wednesday2000, we are just missing a ‘summer’ 🙂
Well said GrannyKate 😊 Sometimes it just helps to know that you are not alone Love it - waking up with glasses on & phone in hand & feeling like a teenager 😊 Hopefully the decorators will turn out to be just as good as the floor fitters 🤞 Excellent decluttering & well done on reaching your £100 for January 👏
TC77, great work dealing with so many frogs 👏 Sorry to hear that you are struggling to find your decluttering mojo at the moment ☹️ Although I have to say that I think you are doing well 👏 - you are keeping in contact with friends and renewing contacts as well, dealing with frogs & still decluttering 🙂I have yet to have my BIG lightbulb moment but I have had a few little flashes 😉 Btw I am keeping everything crossed that your address book reappears soon 🤞
gettingthrifty, your post is definitely not off topic 🙂 The more we are aware of how our mood affects our ability/motivation to declutter, the more likely we are to find a work around 🙂 Just one item decluttered or put away is a success & should be acknowledged & if you can get into this habit it is easier to raise it to 2 items 👏 First though I think you should return to the TLC Carriage 😊 + accept a large hug from me 🤗
More useful information Floss, thank you 👏
Thanks for the reminder about libraries, mehefin 👏
Well said Floss 🙂
Lovely supportive post TC77 😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences Soontobeoap 👏 A kind & considerate post.
wort, thanks for reminding us about both The House Doctor & minimal mom (both American I believe) 👏 Thanks also for the tips on moving 👏
Off to bed now - still not quite getting the hang of going to bed earlier 😅
