It’s only Wednesday but it feels like a month has gone by 😊
I have been throwing stuff out as I go along and done a bit here and there as I was finding it overwhelming concentrating on one room. I don’t have that much to declutter to be fair as I tend to evict things that haven’t be used for 8 months or more. A couple of things I picked up and thought “no you can stay” as they bring back good memories.
The biggest thing this week - well today - I went to cadets having let them know I’d be leaving and promptly burst into tears! The staff were wonderful - well good friends actually - and said I really didn’t need to leave or regularly attend as they understand I’m ill and would be thrilled just to see me every now and then for a cuppa and a chat. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do anything cadet wise and got myself all worked up - but that odd evening is my release from work and home. So I feel much happier now! They are truly wonderful people 🥰🥰🥰🥰 and because I was worked up I haven’t eaten properly and was starving so got a curry and rice on the way home…..and ate the lot!!

@Wednesday2000, hope you find somewhere for the cushions, its frustrating about the labels. I got a sofa from a charity and about a year later wanted to donate it back but they wouldn't take it as no label - I assume came off in my house at some point!
Love hearing how people aren't keeping things for best. I am trying this.
I did use my best wine glasses on nYE, pressies from ex 30 years ago from the conran shop, hadn't been used for decades. I managed to knock mine over, and instead of being upset, just thought how lovely having my friends round. one of my friends was upset on my behalf as she'd been saying how lovely. I was just glad to use them as they could have stayed in the box for another 30!
@Florenceem I love all the old brochures, and have boxes at my dad's including some food and clothes coupon from rationing. I did ebay some vintage pharmacy bottles but do find it time consuming.
Broken pen out - I stood on itno idea how it got on the floor, some paper out, arranged new bank cards (others must be somewhere in the house), and finally ordered carpet for the office - being fitted 2nd Feb and then I can move PC and files out of my bedroom... think I'm now on 155.
Some big frogs to get out tomorrow fingers crossed!

Hi all,, not much more done today except I had to have anothet sort out of the bedside cabinet draw where I keep some of my meds. They have doubled up on the prescription for one tablet but that meant 5 boxes rather than the usual 2. Normally by the time I have taken the book of paper out of the boxes I can get it down to 1 box but I could only get it down to 2 boxes today so had to make room in the draw for the other box. Paper and cardboard packaging into recycling so that bag should be full tomorrow and some other bits into the bin.
I have caught up with the NK programme but for some reason I couldn't get SS on the player and this evening we were catching up on last tango in Halifax, which I think is hilarious, while knitting so will try to catch it sometime tomorrow.
215 uu hand cream, empty tube in bin, counting because I keep finding half used tubes everywhere as I tidy up and am on a mission to use them first
Take care everyone

Today was class on zoom, getting one roommate ready to be picked up to go to the dentist (love that they are picking him up now), and then drove to physical therapy. While the roommate was at the dentist's, his doctor came in to see him (they are in the same big office) as he had the results of the x-rays taken last week. Seems roommate has broken his shoulder in some way. Tomorrow he will need to go into emergency room to get it set somehow. His room is upstairs - I foresee many more trips up the stairs as he won't be able to carry much and still hold onto the handrail. We just bought him a microwave of his own two days ago - it will make getting meals up there easier. On my way home, picked up his medications at the pharmacy along with getting a supply of dog bones and groceries for the week. Took everything home and managed to put it all away. Spent several hours at the library sorting books again. Emptied four carts there by filling in the spaces on other carts where books had been sold. Afterwards, spent time working on book and family history today. Then made two birthday cards - one for nephew and the other for his daughter. Have to mail them tomorrow on the way to the emergency room for roommate. Tonight we are having a high wind warning. Fortunately managed to convince one of the roommates who smokes outside to clean up the area where two of them do their smoking before the winds come. Major decluttering there. Makes a big difference.17

My sympathies and understanding @bit_by_bit for your family situation. I've been in similar scenario for last 9 months. I try hard to concentrate on DGCs and keep out of the issues but it had been a stressful and expensive time. DGCs just seem to accept their 50/50 lifestyle now.
148 Committee papers done - 23 minute frog plus struggled with internet yesterday so had to resend things
149 Shredding cleared - if I try to do too much shredder keeps needing a rest in TLC Carriage
150 Banking sorted again and lots of emails deleted.
Another committee froglet to eat up today and I've still not rung dentist. Better tax car today.2025 Decluttering Campaign 665/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Wednesday got darker & then drizzled on & off from about 2:30 p.m. onwards. I did get dressed & headed off to the CS in Lewisham about 2:55 p.m. Dropped off the 2 bags of DVDs from DH’s office & enquired about the knitted items I took in last week. The last of the items are in the middle of the shop on their own hangers - a couple of beanies, a couple of ear-warmer headbands & a couple of pairs of wrist warmers. Whilst I was sneaking a quick look, one of the volunteers came over & thanked me, saying hand knitted items were always popular 😊 I left with a warm glow & a determination to knit more items 🙂 Then popped into card shop & bought April to June birthday cards. Thought I had plenty of time so headed off to Canary Wharf to Bank some cheques. I was mistaken - counters only open to 3:30 p.m. & I arrived 4:15 p.m. 😔 Got home about 4:40 p.m. Whilst I was out DSis vacuumed downstairs & the stairs 👏 DH & I cooked the 2nd HF meal selection - Serrano Ham wrapped chicken breast with cheesy roast potatoes, tender-stem broccoli with a creamy sauce 🤤😋 DH washed up 👏& I dried & put away. I finished a 2nd beanie & started a 3rd 🙂 Thoroughly enjoyed watching Stacey Solomon’s programme 🙂 & the house still looked good after a month 🙂

What a positive & inspiring post gettingthrifty 😊 You are definitely gaining momentum as evidenced by starting years old Frogs & having such an encouraging response from all parties 👏 I see from your post that you have adopted both the ‘bit by bit’ & the ‘23’ methods of decluttering & both are working really well 👏 The shredder plugged in next to the kettle is a genius idea & is worthy of a medal 🏅which is on its way 😊
Excellent work Brie especially the piggy bank emptying 👏 That was a nice chunk of change to bank 😊I must confess that I probably/definitely have various non-sterling coins stashed in various places so yet another task to add to my To Do list 😔
Wow bit_by_bit, you have been busy 👏 Can I ask, is it proving easier to declutter MiL’s house than declutter your own? It seems from your post that the work you are doing in MiL’s home is inspiring & encouraging you to deal with your own clutter - another instance of success breeding success 😊 So in that same spirit I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 Well on the way to completing February’s minimalist challenge 👏🙂
Excellent decluttering Millie2008_2 👏
Excellent work clearing your sewing machine area Florenceem 👏 & thank you for posting pictures 🙂

Nice to see you retiredinfrance 👋
KeithsMum, I remember Ann Maurice 🙂 Great work shredding & decluttering clothing items 👏
vulpix, I got a headache just reading about your son’s colour combination 🤣 That was certainly ‘a moment’ vulpix 😥 - not necessarily selfish you just got caught up in your mission to declutter 😔However, now you know that MrV does notice the interior design & will consult him in future 🙂
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 I have to agree that sometimes it does feel like there are 91 Tuesdays in January 😱
Brie, what a beautiful & unusual glass 😊
daisy_1571 do let us know what you decide to paint in kiwi crush 😉
Off to bed now & don’t fancy my chances of getting up before midday 😉

I am determined to start packing/decluttering this weekend! I’ve already taken some brand name clothes to list for sale.
I was thinking about buying something like this, rather than trying to clobber together a mis-match of storage - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9484964?clickPR=plp:7:20
As an aside - does anyone have top tips for packing?
Wrapping clothes around breakables was a great idea, and one I’ll be using!‘When you only have two pennies left in the world, spend one on bread and the other on flowers. The bread will sustain life, the flowers will give you a reason to live.’Frugal living in 2024.

Morning declutters, the sun is just trying to peak its way out and brighten up this dull morning, yey! I cant wait for the days to get lighter, it is on its way!!So Im on it this morning after a few days of crazy busy, seem to go like that here!!I have a huge to do list and little jobs and some frogs to tackle, moving money around and trying to work out best way forward to pay a rather large bill! And then its the understairs area to declutter/ sort out and clean up. I did do 2 drawers of the chest of doom, but left the top drawer as tea was ready. (that was a good excuse, and certainly didnt want to tackle if after tea!!)Plus the lounge needs a reset, its getting cluttered, but that wont take long and then hopefully i can get on with some gelli printing, I am really hoping to set up a little side line business making these and mounting them on recycled pieces of wood. I have a plan, now i need to see if I can make it happen!HAve a good day peepsFlowersx♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025
