2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD

Thank you for your kind words Mrs SD. A padded carriage with punch bag might be the answer. I am normally a calm person, honestly!Anyway I cleared out wool shelf this morning whilst on hold to insurance company. A hole bag of clutter cleared and consigned to the bin ( why have I kept a broken hand bag?) and 4 lots of wool and some tulle bagged up for haberdashery sale when craft group gets up and running. Counting as 1 until bags of wool leave the house.
still having difficulty getting courtesy car even though I now have emails confirming one should be being sent. I am so frustrated that I find when I am on hold is the best time to declutter as the angrier I get the more I dispose of.🤣.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

@Radish72
couldn't the vinegar have been used for cleaning at all? OK - clean as a fish shop but still.....
re tarragon - if the BBD is a few months into the future a food bank might take them. Otherwise - you could make tarragon butter (mix tarragon and butter and then make into a log, wrap in parchment or plastic and stick in the freezer) which would be nice on a steak or other meat or maybe veg - just slice a bit off the frozen log. Or make a version of pesto, get a pesto recipe, sub tarragon for basil and half the olive oil with butter. Lovely to use to stuff under chicken skin prior to roasting the bird.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Another round this afternoon. I did a pile of tidying, packaged up the charity bags for DH to take (I do all the work, so his job is to take them which I think is more than fair). Rooms still look horrible, but I found more things to get rid of and cleared myself a tiny space in the library. I am continuing to try and pin down Buy Nothing people as to when all this excess furniture can be collected so I can consider the next layer of stuff to eject.Tidied away DD's next size up clothes. The only thing I couldn't fit in the two boxes was a large dressing gown and a big pile of socks and vests. I've hidden them behind the boxes in her wardrobe. They'll all be coming out in the next few months anyway and then I'll be trying to squeeze in the size above that in. In theory it should get easier as DS has fewer clothes to hand down due to having fewer clothes and more wear and tear. How does the house end up with so much stuff?! I always though I have less than the average house, but maybe that isn't the case.... How on earth have I found almost 900 things to eject in one month? The mind boggles.. if I carried on at that rate I would get rid of 12,410 items in a year848-872 - stationery (donated to school)873-874 - storage boxes not needed (buy nothing)875-879 - kids clothes (charity bag)880 - paper (recycling)881-884 - packaging (used up)2025 decluttering: 3,550🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

SecondStar said:I am determined to start packing/decluttering this weekend! I’ve already taken some brand name clothes to list for sale.
I was thinking about buying something like this, rather than trying to clobber together a mis-match of storage - https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9484964?clickPR=plp:7:20
As an aside - does anyone have top tips for packing?
Wrapping clothes around breakables was a great idea, and one I’ll be using!

Hellooo all 👋🏼
Checking in to say it’s been great to read everyone’s accomplishments & to say that finally we’ve bitten and chomped a mahoosive frog in getting DS1’s bedroom emptied, cleaned, decluttered, new furniture built, shelves erected and stuffs moved back in over the last 2 days.. all after a 24 hour shift at work (another due tomorrow 🫣)
Also a massive black bag of bits taken to the charity shop today.. I’m much relieved..
Just need to relocate the old wardrobe and bits to those in need (DS1’s wishes to gift them to others) fingers crossed they’ll be out of the front room soon!Spoons, hugs and kind thoughts to anyone in need.. 💕"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇15 -

Day off today - started the day by watching Stacey Solomon show on iPlayer - I think I like it even more that the Nick Knowles show - pretty similar formats but I like that they go back and visit. Last night's family's extensive store of toiletries motivated me to declutter the bathroom under-sink storage. It's a tiny storage area and I didn't think I had very much in there but was a bit taken aback. Got rid of quite a bit and organised things better. I got rid of about 8 small wash-in colours for my hair as I have decided to bite the bullet and let myself go grey!
Later on I had a trip to TK Maxx to look for some document storage boxes - they didn't have any I liked so I ordered some online. Picked up a few bits and bobs from the clearance section - I didn't get too carried away as I knew I'd need to report it on here

I also watched the Stacey Solomon show last night and I really enjoyed it. She was so kind and non-judgemental and really helped that family so much. I can't see how they just felt overwhelmed with all that stuff in such a little house. Where do you even start? I did wonder what the contents of my house would look like in the hangar and I'm pretty sure I'd be embarrassed about how much there is!
I took another 23 books to one charity shop and a couple of handbags and clothes items to another.
I've now hit 200/2023 and I'm pleased with my progress.19 -
Hello everyone, after trundling along merrily I’m now stuck in the TLC carriage. I can’t find the door handle to come out. Will someone come and get me? Tomorrow maybe? 🤣🤣🤣Declutter challenge 2023.

Hi all, I haven't done any decluttering today. Went for a 4 mile walk instead. Seem to have lost my get up and go at the moment. Been an upsetting incident at the care home involving my dad that I have found out today (after several days) and I don't know which way to turn. It has already caused arguments between my siblings and the way that one of them is acting is probably going to be the finish of my relationship with them to be honest. Why is it if there is money or a house involved it brings out the greed and underhand, spiteful ways? I wish he would have made a power of attorney and signed the lotnover to Battersea dogs home.2024 decluttering Campaign
