Average usage is zero (well about 50-100w) - or would be, I suspect it will be bumped up a bit by prepping for the saving session today.
I believe (but am not certain) that previous saving session days are excluded from the calculations.
Do you think that is for the on the day adjustment though as well as the saving period baseline?
    I think....

I believe so, but the wording of the technical document is pretty vague. You can decide for yourself (from pg 25) https://t.co/4JTlugXbtS

I did a little better than that !

    "Hi Eric,

Thanks for being part of our Saving Session on 19th January. Here’s a quick look at the difference your efforts made:

    • You saved 8.395kWh, which earned you 15112 OctoPoints – worth £18.89.
    • Together, Octopus customers have saved 804MWh of electricity so far in Saving Sessions. That’s enough energy saved to watch the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy 1,112,905 times, saving around 190,712kg of CO2 emissions.
Your results from events on the 23rd and 24th will follow soon."

I'm hoping to do even better for those two sessions.

I don't have a 'battery' although I was charging the car battery during the in day adjustment period with a total usage of 25kWh during those three hours and was down to below 0.1kW during the saving event.

  • So your savings were about 1/3rd of what you used during that period, do you know what your average usage was during that period on previous days?

That was my target yesterday but I don’t know yet if I got there. I used 0.008kWh during the 90 minutes saving session all of which was in the first five minutes before I threw the switch. Unfortunately I had an appointment on Monday at 2.30 pm, bang in the middle of the adjustment period.
