I've editted my OP, showing an actual image of were I am positioned after I was hit mind you and what options on the insurance website I should click if not a roundabout collision

    OR:

Is this the right option: https://ibb.co/jVdJGsS

  • Personally out of those two options I would go with No 1

I swapped details, reg details, insurance with a few. Some seemed happy, straightforward and pass the details onto the insurance.

However their is a man saying it's my fault that he hit my stationary car and I should accept liability. I don't really wish speak to him, I have text. He swerved into me.

The police said my hazards were on, their is enough space and clear view.

My car could be a write off.

1)On the what happened section https://ibb.co/TLvY1CB

What option should I pick on what happened? Image in the link

If I click on a roundabout collision, what option shall I click after this: https://ibb.co/xH37CS0

    OR:

    2) Is this the right option: https://ibb.co/jVdJGsS

Two people have said option two

This is where it gets difficult, you are liable for the front wheel damage you did yourself, other cars are most likely liable for the other damage done to your vehicle. In theory each collision is its own accident as it wasn't one continuous event.

If your car is a write off then someone will have to try and work out after which collision it became a write off as any one after than was just damaging scrap so no further claim from you on them. If your own damage to the front wrote it off then no claim against any of the subsequent vehicles.

    Cheers

A man told me to ring him regarding the incident yesterday which his mirror, left hand bumper sort of did minor cut damage as he collided into mine

He said I should accept liability. I had my hazards on which the police said and they had enough space and view.

I don't wish to speak to him since I said I'll contact him after, what should I say? Unless I text I don't wish to talk

He is saying I should accept liability. He said yesterday my fault if you see actual real time photo taken, he is saying it's my fault due to how stationary I was.

Ignore any other driver who says you are to blame for them driving into your vehicle which wasn't moving.

If they can't see over a ton of metal with hazards on should they be driving?

Don't worry about detail of what exactly happened, it started with you losing control, so tick that box.  The whole thing will be an insurance mess so sort your own claim and let insurance companies sort liability.

Pass him your insurance details. Its your insurers job to deal with other parties and determine liability. There will most likely be a condition of your policy not to admit liability so don't.

Regarding the options you keep posting about just choose the most appropriate option, dont overthink it. Its not a hard choice and ultimately you will be given a box most likely to enter what exactly happened.

The insurance will take it from there.

Aslong as your are honest and open with the insurer then there's no need to panic.

Worse case, if your found liable you will lose your excess and most likely a portion/all of your no claims bonus.

If your not liable you will still have to admit this claim in the future when taking out car insurance policies.

    1) From the options it seemed like the most appropriate choice was "collision with parked/stationary vehicle'." They told me to phone with ref number

    2) I haven't done one for my own fault of losing control and having the left wheel smash into the curb.

I could just tell him sort it out with the insurance? If I don't speak then text, I haven't given him my policy number.

He has my reg number, phone number

    3) ALSO the storage place needs my claim number, I'm fully comp so they said they can claim off my insurance

    It's down to these three

Liability is worked out by the insurer.

An obstacle on the road doesn't mean another driver can drive into it.   The other driver failed to take the necessary care and attention to avoid their car hitting a stationary object.   They are just trying to get you to agree it was your fault so it makes them feel better.

You just tell them that you will leave it the insurers and that any correspondence should go through them.  Forward any communications you get from those involved to your insurer.

  • You lost control on ice and a number of other cars did the same but instead of hitting the corn they hit you. You won’t get away with a no fault claim and all insurers involved will deal with this as cheaply as possible so the likely outcome is that each insurer will handle the damage to their clients car and all will go down as a fault claim. Had you come to a gentle rest with no damage you might have got away with a no fault claim .
