TV damage - honest question

Thanks all for the replies.
I suppose part of my question was about the "quality" issue (and why I was considering being honest) - if a small knock can have some damaging effect then it's very concerning. Might have just been very very bad luck in terms of the impact angle etc.
It wasn't a super- "expensive" one (sub £500), but still a bit sickening.0 -
Anything on the toy that could have been a bit harder/sharper? A bell, for example? There's the possibility your kids haven't been entirely honest with you, of course...mikeylpool said:Thanks all for the replies.I suppose part of my question was about the "quality" issue (and why I was considering being honest) - if a small knock can have some damaging effect then it's very concerning. Nah it just one of those typical "EOAS" the soft felt body and the slightly harder face.Aylesbury_Duck said:

And like all kids, they should now be paying out for this out of their pocket & Christmas money 👍MalMonroe said:
But your poor kids, just doing what kids do and silly things we've all done, I'm sure in the past. Accidental damage would have covered it.Life in the slow lane2 -
Yes, I thought the whole point of the Elf on the flipping' Shelf was to blackmail the kids into good behaviour, not give them a tool to smash up the house with....born_again said:

A TV isn't designed to have things thrown at it.

Can't help thinking a few TVs would have had things much harder and possibly wetter thrown at them last nightpowerful_Rogue said:mikeylpool said:Thanks all for the replies.

Obviously, it would not be right to tell Currys the tv arrived damaged. Just because a mate of mine did that and got away with it and got it replaced as he had 28 days to reject the tv and told them he received it faulty, this was not the correct thing for honest Christian folk to do.
Currys have never been dishonest and tried to re-write the consumer laws to suit themselves, most definitely they have not.
So let’s please do the honest thing here, throw the tv in the bin and just go and buy another one and sleep easy at night.

You are indeed correct - however, it should be able to handle soft toys being lightly thrown* at it. I'd say that they should have a threshold that allows for small accidents.
(*based on testimonials from the offendors!)
Anyway, just going to have to see how it goes anyway0 -
The highlighted bit why have you brought religion into it?Al_Ross said:Obviously, it would not be right to tell Currys the tv arrived damaged.
