I just spoke with GreenEnergyUK (my electricity supplier) and they confirmed that I was 'on their eligablity list' and would be receiving the payment direct into my bank account at some point this month. They couldn't specify exactly when.0

Forgot to say: I double checked whether the money would be a credit on my account with them, or a payment to me, and they said that as they had my bank/direct debit details it would be a payment directly to my bank account.0

I just checked my electricity supplier (again) and although nothing was immediately obvious I found a page by searching through their site map.
The bit I have not seen before (and it might be just ScPwr) is that they intend crediting your [edit to include prepayment] smart meter if you have one, and sending you a code if your smart meter does not talk to them automatically with meter readings.
Prepayment users will receive three credits, two for £75 and one for £50, all at the same time, they can use them when they like but they must be used by the expiry date (not specified).
Direct Debit payers [edit to strikeout my mis-read] not on a smart meter will receive a bank credit.
They will start paying mid February and complete by the end of Feb (but it might take 5WD to reach account).
If you think you should have received it and have not, wait until March before contacting them (good luck with that, their pre-determined messaging does not mention AFP, and their phone lines are obscure for contact numbers)Save £12k in 2023 - #50 target is £5000 with £3221.11 submitted so far. Suffolk Lass, that sounds decidedly odd. Why would Scottish Power credit the electricity account for the £200 Alternative fuel fund, when they (Scottish Power) decided to give the £400 EBSS as a direct payment back to individual bank accounts? They have a working system in place, surely it would be much simpler just to continue with this, especially since this cash is specifically to help with the non-electricity portion of energy bills?0

I have received an email from SSE regarding this payment for my now deceased friend for whom I had POA.The email states the payment will be made in February and will differ according to the way you pay your bills and which type of meter you have.Interestingly my late friend didn’t use any alternative fuels - his home was all electric.I have no idea if his estate will actually benefit from any payment as his bank account was closed 8 months ago, and the executors took control of the estate. His electricity account is still active as the house sale is just going through.0
