Anyone with British Gas (for electric) actually had any £200 additional payment yet. Seen lots of comments that payments are filtering through from other companies but nothing seen from BG yet.
    Thanks
Yep, me. I've seen nothing yet either ( I checked my account online this morning). My postcode is included in the off-gas s/s, so I'm hoping it's just a case of needing to be patient.

Along with a few other recent posters, we received a payment of £200 automatically from BULB. I would hope other relevant users should receive soon. This came as a credit to our slightly in debit account. We live on the side of a street with no gas connections. Our elec usage is astronomical as we have no CH boiler, only a log burner in one room and storage rads in others and an immersion. All this in a very drafty 1700's cottage. Oh well, Every little helps, to coin a phrase.
However you knew that when you bought or rented the property so must have had a plan for the future?

    I found this https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/housing/articles/census2021howhomesareheatedinyourarea/2023-01-05
There's a tool to check which type of heating predominates in your area (England and Wales only, unfortunately).  It will be interesting to see if the results correlate with who gets the payment automatically - in my area it says only 4.8% use electricity for their central heating, so I'm hoping we might be some of the accidental benefactors.
That explains why we got the payment only 1.9% of households have gas in our postcode👍
Not quite, go through the different heating types and see what the highest ones are - it'll be because it's not predominantly electric.
  • BG customer here, just received email stating that I will receive my £200 AFP as a credit to my BG account.
I live in a rural location with no mains gas in our postcode.
Email says payment will be made in February, no date.
    Cheers
    Nobby.

A short time after writing my comment re British Gas low and behold an email popped up from BG like the rest of you (think they must have seen my comment on here😄).
My £200 will be credited to my account this month, however doesn’t mention whether or not it will then be sent on to your bank, so presuming it will stay as a credit on the electric a/c unless anyone has been told different. All the best
  • Received £200 credit in my Octopus account yesterday.
  • No notification from Bulb, but £200 credited to my account earlier this week. Emailed requesting that money be transferred to my bank account which will be done next week. All good.

No email from BG yet, but then I'm with BG Evolve, some online business setup around July 2021 but they're now BG again.
