    Ok, update:

I've received another follow up email from Liam Fox's PA, who forwarded my complaint to Liam Fox, who subsequently, emailed, and raised my concerns with the business support manager/executive assistant to the CEO and board at Bristol Airport (BA).

Who responded with what I guess is a standard response, by saying that BA monitor VCS' practices, adding that VCS operate fully within the guidelines of the IPC. and also highlighting the problem with vehicles stopping in unsafe areas on our roadways.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, she has, "on this occasion, and as a gesture of goodwill", asked VCS to revoke the penalty notice.

I have now also received an email from Excel parking (VCS) who stated, "we have reviewed this case and considered the points raised in your correspondence and can confirm that the Notice has been cancelled with immediate effect and our records in respect of this matter are now closed."

I would therefore like to thank everyone on the thread who helped/offered advice, whose input has contributed to this Charge Notice being cancelled.

Although I've found the process stressful, I am all the wiser for it, and that's down to all of you.

    Thanks again

    Best regards

    Yeah right!
I'm sure you'll be eternally in their debt for being so thoughtful!

    Congratulations  :D

Nicely done that MP!  And well done you.

Excel are not the same Ltd company as VCS, so the latter should not even be processing or seeing your data at all.

Congrats!  Don't disappear though...we have a favour to ask that's hugely in your interests:

See you back here for the Public Consultation, coming soon.  UK motorists need people like you to help us make a difference forever.

What a waste of your time this is, and why is there such a litigation culture in parking?  We know it's horrible being pursued for £100 plus false 'fees' for no reason, by an ex-clamper aggressive firm.

Join us in pushing to end the PPC and DRA 'added fees' rubbish that pays for the bulk-litigation culture.

There will be one window of opportunity very soon, early this year.

We are being listened to.  I am on the Government Steering Group.  But a group effort is needed.

Together, we can stop the parking industry from riding roughshod over the new statutory Code of Practice and reinstate the lower charge level caps and the ban on added fake fee 'extortion'.

If you are not likely to pop back here every week to check, please set up email alerts for this forum and bookmark this thread (below) as we intend that one of us posts on it when the Government opens the Consultation:

Read the latest (2022) posts there.

PPCs have blocked the new statutory Code with Judicial Reviews.  Stopped the much welcomed parking code from February 2022, which stated that added £60 or £70 false 'DRA fee' extortion was to be banned and that parking levels would start at £50.

It's all on hold.  It needs to be law asap.

This is your chance to make a difference, plus other drivers you know (family, friends) who are also fed up with greedy and unscrupulous parking firms and the stranglehold they have on honest people.

This upcoming Consultation needs high numbers of real victims to make a point of responding.  Coming soon....and it will be all over the forum, you'll see.

Nice result. I rather suspect that having a 'heavyweight' MP (Liam Fox) getting involved might have been the main tipping point. I think that any young, fresh-face MP might not have had the same influence.

Whatever the reason, well done @MyMSEName, a real nasty little monkey off your back.

Please do come back and help with the consultation exercise as it's really going to be the very last (ever) opportunity to boot some common sense and fairness into the private parking sector.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Thanks CM,

Yes, extremely grateful to Ione Douglas MBE and Rt Hon Liam Fox, I received several emails from their office.

I received an email from Excel with a letter from VCS attached that confirmed the CN had been cancelled so they're obviously in cahoots.

The scale of this parking problem is immense, so if I can help, I will.

    Thanks again CM, much appreciated.

    Thanks Umk, yes I concur.

Yes indeed, my stress levels were rising again, as I knew further correspondence from VCS was immanent, so this result was most welcome.

I certainly will, thanks again for your input.
