Don't forget 3.6% cashback from Qiudco.
I always forget Quidco. Last time I booked more than 10 nights. After finishing all bookings, my OH reminded me about Quidco. I nearly kicked myself.0 -
The email says they will be releasing them AFTER Christmas so you won't be able to book one until then. Everyone who is signed up to the email gets a day or 2 prior notice of them going live so best to sign up to it.
stayed in the battersea travelodge on 25th Dec -
pros
dirt cheap £19, good sized room, bathroom had a bath, comfy bed, warm, plenty hot water, staff freindly
cons
minor probe really - it was very basic, had to ask for extra duvets, cups, pillows, no phone, no cupboards, no breakfast as expected (what do you expect for £19), carpark £5 extra (which we knew), not so comfy sofa bed but ok
Personally its what do you expect for £19...superb value! its great for families who are constantly ripped off by hotels....for those that have not had kids you are in for a shock.....family rooms, if available are usually TWO or THREE times normal room rate (eg 2 star hotel in isle of wight wanted £196/night for Aug bank hols...pulished std room rate was £80/night - I told them to get stuffed)
Ive stayed in £200/night hotels and some are rubbish - like the crowne plaza, brum - prob worst value hotel i have ever stayed in - dated, facilities paid for not available, food only ok and overpriced, room small, 1/2 bath a joke, checkout took eons-so didnt bother and they had to chase me for the money, chewing gum on headboard, lighting poor and no single switch to turn all lights on/off, tv and decor from 1970s, etcStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
Ooh I used to love the £5 rooms. Had my first holiday as a single parent by using the £5 offer
they were great!
i had a couple of nights using them an all.
when i working for a multinational i used to stay at these lavish Intercontinental type hotels for which the comapny paid an extortionate amount.
however as a parent/wife i never pay OTT for any room, these hotels in the UK are just so expensive in eygypt i got a room for £5/night last year and this was in Sharm El Shiek!
In the UK the prcining is often per person (rip -offs!).
Travelodge is the one of a few decent hotels who offer a room deal and bring out special offers frequently.
Had it not been for the £5 deal my family would have spent our money in Turkey instead of Birmingham!
family of 4 in a hotel in the UK at a cheap hotel in London £50/night for two for 4 people thts £100 for two nights (which you would need to see most things in London) thts £200. factor in the travel costs, eating out costs, rip off costs to get into say London Zoo £15/person, London eye £15/person etc
total trip cost to London for 4 people - £500
Turkey/Eygpt
3* £125 AI /person 7 nights including flights /food and transfers. Plus lots of sunshine and a beach!0 -
I remember getting 3 nights at £5 together at Traveodge a few years back. Was quite good. And good to see them back at this price, hopefully it's not a ruise and rooms will actually be available, maybe even for a few nights in a row.0

I complained about my last stay as they would not let me have a room until 15.00 (it did state it on their site, so was fair enough) However, I was there at 14.00, I explained to them that I wouldn't be returning until after 23.00 (they wouldn't even let me leave my luggage,) upon returning they then spent 10-15 mins finding me a room.
Anyway, I made a complaint to their head office and was sent a cheque.catch220 -
If these £5 rooms are to be booked at least 180 days ahead (as was mentioned somewhere),that takes us up to the peak summer months,June,July,Aug,Sept.,so I can`t see any £5 rooms ¬til about next October.0
