Just got an email from Travelodge...............
Don't miss our lowest room rates ever
Here's a great reason to check your email during the festive celebrations. After Christmas we'll be offering thousands of rooms at our lowest ever price.
Right now we're not saying just what a bargain they'll be. But here’s a thought - you'll be able to stay at one of our hotels next year for the price of a stocking filler!
(keep an eye out and if anyone finds out more then let us know)

Looks like they're going to be offering £5 sale rooms, as they've updated their T+C's to say:
Travelodge_Website wrote:Amendments to £5 "Sale" rates must be made at least 180 days in advance of the scheduled date of arrival.

180 days notice- so they must be at least 6 months away- better get the calendar out...0

Excellent news, we did some fiver frency rooms 2 years ago, I had almost given up on them ever repeating the offer.Always on the hunt for a bargain0

Hope everyone here has better luck with this chain than we have. Once it was a good "innkeeper" but in recent years has gone for a business model in which -- as the company itself has admitted more than once -- over-booking is a 'fact of life'. So pay your fiver but don't think that's going to guarantee the room will be there when you turn up. We gave up erntirely on Travelodge last year when in response to our complaint that no fan was working in the airless/ windowless bathroom / loo, the hotel management responded that no fans were working in 13 other rooms, either. I don't regret our complaint to the local council's Environmental health department but I do regret the waste of time and money.0

I'm happy with them, they are fine just as a base, but I would not pay £50 for a room.Always on the hunt for a bargain0

Excellent!
Will definately look into this as soon as the offer comes up, for £5 a night I wouldnt complain if there wasnt a fan in my room, its hard to even get a camping pitch for £5 a night these days (and then you even have to supply your own tent)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
