Travelodge Room Saver - Lowest Rates Ever

I'd never stay at one of these places. £50/night is just too much. It's OK for couples/families as the rate is "per room". Also, where breakfast is included, others are getting 2-4 breakfasts in their one price yet I could only have one.
When they did the £15 rooms, they didn't make it so you could say "where/when can I go and get £15/night" you had to individually trawl through every town/date to track one down.
For £5/night though it might be worth it, if it's not too hard to find a place/dates I fancy going to visit.0 -
Do they have pet friendly rooms? Can you take the dog?One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0

Searching for the rooms is fine if you have a date in mind, because you just get it to list 'all hotels' instead of going through one at a time. I think there was a room checker on here at one point as well - but have a feeling Travelodge told them to take it off. We have the Travelodge guide book so when we see one at the price and date we want, we check the book for where it actually is which is often the biggest problem because I haven't heard of some of the towns
Never had a really bad one, any problems we did have were reported and dealt with quickly. We've never not gotten the room we paid for either.I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL

We have had lots of great week-ends away at Travelodges for £10 and £15. We have also stayed in other hotels that have cost £50+ a night and haven't been any better. I agree the standard can be a bit hit and miss, though.
If you are just looking for a weekend away, but don't mind where you go, be careful before you book - it is worth checking exactly where the Travelodge is as some of them are on motorways, quite a distance from the nearest place, eg Penrith. Often there will be a Burger king and a Little Thief and that's all. We try to combine Travelodging with (free) visits to National Trust sites - and if you can work in a Tesco/Sainsbury's cafe visit for tea - you can have quite a cheap weekend. Take brioche rolls for Sunday breakfast, then look for a free museum on the way back. alternatively, if you are on a TL site near a retail park with a cinema, there is often a "kid's club" film on at 11am on Sat and Sun morning for £1.50.0 -

Will definately look into this as soon as the offer comes up, for £5 a night I wouldnt complain if there wasnt a fan in my room, its hard to even get a camping pitch for £5 a night these days (and then you even have to supply your own tent)
We take our own fan when it's hot.
We also take a microwave and toaster if we are going for more than a couple of days.0 -

Thanks for this OP - have signed up and hopefully there'll be some rooms in Norfolk (seeing as that's where we're hoping to paddle next year
