eBay Sellers - do you leave feedback?

Mainly a question for eBay sellers - do you leave feedback as soon as a buyer has paid?
Or do you wait for the buyer to leave feedback first?
Or do you just not leave any feedback at all?

I generally wait for the buyer to leave feedback first, although most people just do not leave any at all any more (even though they receive the item next day in most cases!).

I will never understand why eBay removed the ability to leave buyer's negative feedback. Surely if a buyer doesn't pay, or just abuses the return's policy, sellers should be able to reflect this in their profile to warn others??

  • I leave feedback when I have posted the parcel at the same time I upload the tracking number so well before the buyer has received the parcel and left feedback.
If a buyer gves me money I am happy with that and dont expect them to praise me as well before thanking them for  buying

I too leave feedback when I post the buyers item, I also mention it in the f/b so they know the day I have shipped said item. I only receive about 1 in 20 F/B from buyers.

Another seller who leaves feedback after posting.
If they've paid promptly, why wouldn't you?
They've fulfilled their side of the contract.

I only leave feedback once the buyer leaves it for me. That way I know that they are happy and the transaction is fully completed.
If the buyer turns out to be a pain in the !!!!!! after receiving the item then I wouldn't leave them feedback.

It's a very old school way of thinking :) eBay needs buyers, sellers will always be in a place where buyers are present, feedback doesn't mean much these days but when it did eBay didn't want good buyers put off from buying due to poor sellers leaving them bad feedback if they dared to justly complain about something.

In theory the background measures of non-payment strikes and monitoring buyer abuse should assist sellers more than bad feedback ever did, after all once the buyer hits BIN it's too late to look at their feedback and decide not to sell, although I'm sure there could be a debate over monitoring buyer abuse but eBay have gotten better at it over the years.

I will tend to leave feedback in batches when I happen to be on the feedback page for whatever reason, but I will always leave it.

However, it seems that less and less buyers seem to do so these days.

If a parcel is still in transit I will sometimes hold off until I know it has been delivered and a few days have passed for the buyer to raise any concerns. (I realise this is slightly old fashoned as I can't leave anything negative anyway, but at least the thought of them not recieving an extra positive may make them think twice before potentially being awkward or leaving unreasonable feedback).
    • The rich buy assets.
    • The poor only have expenses.
    • The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I buy far more than I sell. I leave feedback once paid when I'm selling as they paid me and so far never had a problem. As a buyer I won't leave feedback until the seller has as I have fulfilled my part of the contract. I have a number who haven't done it yet so see no need to give them a positive

What a strange attitude.  I leave feedback once the transaction is complete (I have my item, or a refund on the rare occasion something's wrong with the item).  Then the seller knows it's done and I'm not going to give them hassle.

    +1 to this.
As long as I've received my item and it's as described, the seller has fulfilled their part of the contract.

    This.

As far as I'm concerned, feedback is for an entire transaction from start to finish, not because some has just paid or an item despatched.
