  • Hey all :hello:

Well the loan money cleared today and i have now phoned and paid off old loan! :j

Had ordered cash at bank for going to see this car at the weekend but just re read and it says they take debit card which i would be much more comfortable with!

Going to wait till all expenditure relating to new car is done till I pay off CC, as its on 0% it doesnt make any difference at present!

Just hope this car is gonna be worth all the hassle!

    Time for a :coffee:

  • Morning all,

Well i've got a new car :j So can finally stop looking! Got what i wanted for mine and knocked the seller down a bit aswell so all good!

It was slightly more than i was gonna go but shouldnt leave to much on my credit card (around £750) which will be my main target to clear, hopefully by the end of January.

Need to do a new SOA with everything in so i can see where i am aswell and never fall back into the same situation.

    Jobs to do

    1. Check all payments are out of bank account to make sure calculations are all right!
    2. Update signature with new figures
    3. Do a new SOA
    4. Decide what credit card to get rid off

That should keep me busy for a while!

    Time for a celebratory :coffee:

  • Morning all :hello:

Well i've updated my signature to what it now stands at.

Yes dragon getting rid of the CC is now my priority again! Then might try and pay off the TV (not included signature) even although i'll get given money for this.

After that its not going to be debt busting, it will be saving and letting the loan do its work. Then once me and my gf have decided if we are gonna rent or buy and are settled and used to paying the bills i'll look at saving to clear it.

Credit card wise im thinking of getting rid of the Abbey card as its the one with the silly limit (£11,400)

My Barclaycard has a limit of £3,480 which is more than enough for emergencies. Also Barclaycard show payments the next day not 5 days later like Abbey

SOA im going to need to sit down and work out what my car is gonna cost me to run a year and then split that into a monthly amount to transfer across.

Right time for a :coffee: anyone else for one?!

I'll take a :coffee: please!! I think you are right to get shot of the Abbey CC, and if possible to get them to reduce the limit on the Barclaycard - as you said it would only be for emergencies!

it could be worth putting together a mock SOA with your gf - most rent for instance is up around £400+ a month which really wipes out your available income (especially with things like gas and electric to come off as well!)
