Hey P, Sorry i missed you the other day will a cuppa today do (along with bribary Jaffa Cake to make up for it!)
Hows things with you? Hows work? HOws the OH front?
Thanks rags, it is hard work alot of the time but im lucky enough to be in a position where i can still treat myself occasionally.
I was in a similar ish position to you last year and have halved my debt in a year so it can be done, you just have to make sacrifices (sp!) and change your attitude to spending on things and how you pay for them.
My phone calls to Abbey have finally paid off (its only taken 4 months!) so no £1 interest this month.
Going to put some money from my wages over to an account for xmas shopping. Already got £150 in there for gf's xmas so only need to do about £50 a week and for a 3 weeks and that'l be xmas paid for (going by last year)
Just paid £50 off my Abbey card so that is now under £4k. Will transfer more when i find out exactly how much my car insurance is going to cost me, Got £400 saved which is what it was last year (plus £45 breakdown cover) and they are trying to charge me £449 this year (plus £45 breakdown cover so £494 in total). No accidents etc so i dont think so! Just waiting for them to get back to me.

Hey all,
Well been sorting out my car insurance this week. Originally paid £469 including breakdown but then got a better quote which the company have matched so getting a £70 refund! :j Total cost £399 so a £95 saving over what they originallly quoted me!
Going to pay £100 off my Abbey card when that comes through as the totals on that havent been moving asmuch as i would like the last few months!
Got to start my xmas shopping yet, not looking forward to it but not going to be putting it on plastic (managed not too last year aswell! just after my light bulb moment)
Talking of which i've nearly been on this site a year now and have paid off over half my debt so that isnt too ad going!
Still havent found another car yet but still looking, hopefully find one soon though!
Not alot else to report at the minute!

Morning all,
Well got alot going on this weekend.
Im striping my car for selling, its gonna cost me about £150 but the parts that will be getting taken off are worth more than that.
I've got to get my private plate transferred off aswell so that is another £105
I've gonna look at a new car on saturday so might be changing it soon. Should have really done the above before now but have been busy with holiday etc. So gonna have an expensive week this week but hopefully this will then be sorted and out of the way!
Not alot else to report, going to have to miss debt payments this week due to the above but should be able to scrap it with my refund for the insurance last week.
Also for got im dog sitting for my mate this weekend, really looking forward to it as havent had a dog for years, im thinking a walk on the beach on sunday!
How is everyone? Anyone got any plans for the weekend?

Morning all,
Well paid to get my car stripped ended up costing me £120, havent done my plate yet but will try and get to the dvla sometime this week.
Im hopefully going to see a car on saturday and have my mate that is a mechanic coming with me to look at it. Its not as expensive as some of the car of the cars i've been looking at.
If i do get this one then im going to do the dreaded C word and get a loan for everything. I know this is against all MSE advise BUT i think i have truely learnt my lesson and wont be doing this again. I will be getting rid of one of my credit cards (not sure which one) and then get saving for either renting or buying a house with my gf.
I feel that this is what i need to do now as i need some space of my own. I've had a pretty s**t year and want to start next year on a high!Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71

Granted it isn't recommended but if you keep an eye on it (and keep posting on here!) then hopefully you will pay it off soonish and then you will be FREE!!!!! It is nice that your mate is willing to give the car the once over for you and I hope it is okay! Now have a :coffee: and unwind a bit!:rotfl:Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
