Hey V,
Wrist is still f**ked, had an appointment with the hand therapist and she has given me another couple of things to try. Will see how i get on with them , although i have 10 off in November so she wants to see if my work is aggrevating it.
Have booked to go upto visit family in Scotland for 10 days in November, its going to cost a fair amount but to be hoenst i dont care, i havent been upto see my granddad's for ages and after losing Gran at the begining of the year it makes you realise they arent always gonna be there. Also it will do me some good to get away. Flights have gone on my empty Barclay card as much for protection as anything else and will get paid off in the interest free period.
It is going to cost appprox £500 without spending money (£250 for me and £250 for gf but she will pay for hers)
We are hiring a car which although not very cheap is essential for when im there as will be doing trips to see family members so buses etc. Also the car needs to be a 4 door so granddad can get in and out easily and the same with my other grandad and his partner.
So the Scotland costs/savings
Flights £175
Car hire £176
Online Damage Waiver £20 Approx (need to look into)
Accomodation £115
Total £486 before spending money.
Really looking forward to the time off and think its just what the doctor ordered! Again not helping my debts go down but family is more important than any amount of money.

Morning all,
Busy day today, Dentist again and my car is in getting fixed! Nothing else to pay at the dentists and will find out whats wrong with the car. Hopefully once the car is sorted (and i know what i'll need to pay) i'll be able to transfer somemore money to my savings.
So no changes at present but will update later hopefully!

My BArclaycard is standing at £346.91 (Flights and car hire) Girlfriend has transferred in £175 to my account which cleared today so have paid that that plus my £70 that i had saved towards it off it, leaving £96.91 to pay off.
Have quite an expensive weekend so am going to wait till monday to transfer any money to my savings/make any payments to barclaycard.

Well done on all you've saved! You're really putting the rest of us to shame! Where in Scotland are you going on hols? I'm sure you'll have a fab time - well, as long as you don't mind the rain! :P
What company did you book the hire car hire through? I work in car rental, so just wondering if you booked one from the airport that you're flying into? Cause they're a tad more expensive - although since you're a veteran MSE I'm sure you probably got the best deal out there anyway! :P

Hey CWM.c
We are flying into Edinburgh and although slightly more to get it from the airport it means not having to mess about with taxi's or buses etc.
I made a school boy error and forgot to check quidco before i booked it so i could have got 9% cashback but price wise it wasnt awful.
£176 for a mondeo or vectra (need 5 doors for when taking granddad's out) for 9 days hire which i didnt think was too bad, i check plenty of company's and this was the cheapest i could find, i used Easycar and the car is from Avis, then i'll get an excess waiver off the net rather than getting it from the company as they charge alot more for it.
Can you beat that?! :rotfl: as im sure i can cancel it upto 7 days before without penalty.
Also have updated my signature to take into account this months loan payment which i had forgotten to do!Debt Now~Total-£14,366.72~CC-£1,600.00~Sofa-£1,349.01~Loan-£11,417.71
