Looks like a bit of a cold night tonight, so I’ve brought my tomatoes into the utility room overnight to avoid any check to growth. Regretting planting out the courgettes up at the allotment this morning. It’s always a bit colder there as it’s out of town0

This has gone very quiet. I planted all mine out into the greenhouse about 3 weeks ago. They had got a bit leggy, so I buried them all a good 6” deeper than they were in the pots as they always run out of space at the top of the greenhouse.
I’ve been busy so done nothing to them except an occasional soaking, but when I did that yesterday they started to fall over so spent an hour today staking them and removing all the side shoots. The Sungold are the first to flower as usual with some onto their second truss already. The first sowing of Gardener's delight are growing very vigorously and seem to want to turn into a bush rather than a corden. Brandywine and the purple cherry both looking healthy.
How are everyone else’s doing?2 -

I have some in big pots in the tunnel, 'cos I'm still moving earth around in there this summer. One of them, Moskvich, has a fruit about 4 cm in diameter. Some others might have the beginnings of fruit. All plants have been grown at the base of a south-facing wall for the past month."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country."
