Got PCN ticket

Hello.

I have received yesterday a ticket from JDparking in Leeds. I did parked on a premises land however, the premises is not in operation anymore. Is shut down.

So I'm thinking to appeal, is that worth it?

I tried couple of times to pay online, however looks like my fine is not on system yet. Even appealing, doesn't work.

Any advice.

Thanks

On your windscreen, or a notice in the post?

Just because a premises is shut down, doesn't mean you can rock up and park on the car park at will.

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, which will explain the steps you should now take.

It was on my windscreen. Where I can find that post?

  • I checked that post, however slightly confused. Do I have to appeal it now, or wait for any letters?

Did you read the part about appealing a windscreen ticket around day 25/26 after the date of the parking event?  That's what and when you appeal.

I'm assuming that you are the registered keeper of the vehicle and it's not a hire/lease/company vehicle. If so, please tell us.

If you do a search on "jd" in the parking tickets board you will find lots of people who have had to deal with these cowboys

Yes, I'm the vehicle keeper. So I have to wait till day 25/26? Is this will affect somehow my credit score?

Also, do I appeal online or POPLA?

    Thanks in advance.

Even the the signed is not clear. It does say private land, however not that you are not allowed to park.

You need to read about how a credit score can be affected by a private parking charge, but to save your legs ....

A credit score is affected by a County Court Judgment that hasn't been satisfied. That is, the parking company (PPC) sue you, you fail to defend, or fail to turn up in court, or you lose your case and fail to pay the judgment by the date given to you by the judge. So, if you do get a credit score-trashing CCJ, it will only be your fault.

The PPC have 6 years to progress this to court, so if you move address at any time in that period and your parking charge is still unresolved, you must inform the PPC in writing of your new address.

Thanks. Then what are my chances that I can win this PCN appeal?

Virtually nil, but that is the wrong question. 96% of PCN appeals are rejected, it is part of their scam business model.

If you had asked "what are my chances of winning?" the answer would be

That depends upon  you, follow the advice, read the sticky threads and chances are very high indeed. But you might have to go all the way to Court to do so.
