this all seems so complicated, I did download it but couldn't be bothered with it, plus now Asda prices seem sky high so it has actually put me off going there. Wonder how long it will last?

It isn't complicated at all: you scan it every time you shop and they give you money (well, they used to give me money!). It is no different to Clubcard in that respect. What they want you to do is look at it, see there are "special" products that give you extra rewards so that you buy them when you normally wouldn't. I'm not having any of that manipulation so simply do my regular shops, and they gave me quite a lot of money.

I have emailed ASDA again today about this as it doesn't seem right. I have spent about £200 across my last eight shops and have received 50p (two Star products)!! 

Under the old system I would expect to have made maybe £5 - £10.

UPDATE: My email bounced with "This email is no longer in use..."!! Something else they have discontinued then! Fed up, going to Lidl!

No supermarket is consistently going to give you 2.5%-5% back as that is their entire profit margin.  They will have been generous initially to encourage customer to sign up for Rewards and get them into the habit of using it every time they shop - now they've achieved that, they will revert to <1% cashback.

How does this work when you're at a self scanning checkout?

I usually wait until I've scanned my last item, then open the app and scan the barcode - there's a beep, but apart from that, nothing seems to happen or change, no numbers increase and there's no confirmation message.

Do you need to press something on the self checkout screen before you scan the app's barcode? Or maybe scan it during the payment part rather than before it?

You should get "Coupon" come up on the list of items on screen and "Asda Rewards" as the final shopping item on the paper receipt.

Once again I got cash for items that were not marked in store - I knew what I was buying this time though - and the Weetabix 72 is still showing as a star product well over a month since it went off.

Press Make Payment then scan the phone barcode before making your payment method choice. It will then take you out of the payment choice screen, so you have to press Make Payment again.

It will show on your phone as "You earned £x" today (something like that) and you have to dismiss that screen. When you do that you see your balance increase.

Agreed. The amount it paid in the first month of using it was insane; I remember thinking they can't keep this up! It settled into still being pretty generous though over the last year, or however long it has been since launch. I have always thought they couldn't keep this up, it will bankrupt them!

Seems they have finally realised! Although they tell me that under the new system customers will see their cash pots "boosted a lot more"! Common sense says the opposite is true and this seems to be the case since 1st April with my lack of rewards.
