I was thinking the same, just how big the difference is between our usage figures.
I guess there is a big variant of types of houses, insulation, and people.
Then there are the people that work and maybe have the heating on maybe an hour or 2 in the morning and evening versus the people that are home all day have theirs on all day.
There will also be some less well-able-bodied people home all day that need a higher temperature heating, and also have medical aids and use more wash loads etc.
Basically, loads of variants to take into account.

:) The 5-bed house came with a job. Nice enough but I'm glad to have left the bills behind and a small house is fine.
3 bed det. built 2021. 2 occupants at home all day. Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30i combi boiler heating to 19-20C from 6am to midnight, setback to 17.5C overnight, connected in EMS mode to Tado smart modulating thermostat. Annual gas usage 6000kWh; electricity 2000kWh.

Going cold this week barely above 0C daytime and below freezing most nights for a prolonged spell so most of my storage heaters have gone back on from last night. Usage will easily double now compared to last month

2 Bed end terrace house East Midlands (1930's build) except for relaid loft insulation last summer poorly insulated. 2 adults at home all day. Gas CH with combi boiler but no gas in kitchen therefore electric cooking.

November figures showed similar reduction to 2021 figures like those reported in the October thread. Note dual fuel. Last year on a fix (ended July 22) so now on EPG

    Electric:
    2021  204.07 kWh = £81.09  (fixed)
    2022  156.64 kWh = £65.43  (now EPG)

    Gas:
    2021  490.73 kWh = £58.77  (fixed)
    2022  238.56 kWh = £32.96  (EPG)

Gas not directly comparable. Last year CH on from 1st November. This year has been milder so not switched on until 15th. Also reduced thermostat 1 degree. So need to wait until December for good comparison. However if the forecast for this week (3 degrees max and -3 overnight and sleet/snow showers next week) is true may need to turn thermostat back up.

2 of us in an old solid wall detached 3 bed cottage in Somerset.  Turn on gas heating when needed with no set times or temperatures.

We've made a real effort to cut electricity use this year so we're down to 170kwh this November from 333kwh last. Very pleased with that.

Gas, not so much !  Despite having our old gas Rayburn de-commisioned and replacing with a combi we've used 742kwh this month compared to last years 850kwh despite it being mild.  I was rather hoping for bigger savings here and am beginning to think that the 40 year old Rayburn was not as ineffient as I thought !
