Ooh - forgot - the Octopods delivered our lectrickery bill by return of the meter readings on Friday. Thanks to them taking a little longer with the last one it is only a 20 day bill, but it was also only a £47 bill so we're pretty chuffed with that! I need to remind MrEH to read the gas meter this evening so I can get the reading through on that, too. There is currently £264 credit sitting on the account with them anyway - the gas will drop that by on the region of £15 I reckon, and then the DD will go across this week and top it up again by £115...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

It's good to see credit balances re-building after an expensive winter energy-wise, isn't it, @EH? It will be doubly useful with you not yet knowing what your energy bills will look like once you get into your new house.

That's a good bit of credit. Ours is currently on £224 with the next reading/bill due on 17th, but as we are away from the 5th-16th, I'm hoping for a really low bill this time.
Its exciting getting ready for holidays isn't it. I've just been food shopping ready to fill up the cold box and will start on sorting some other bits out later. I'm really ready for our cheapo caravan break now.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Hi Foxgloves - it really is - I was quite impressed that in spite of only moving to our current supplier in October we never once dipped out of credit all winter - certainly the £66/67 payments helped with that, but even without them we'd still have done OK. I'm currently allowing £200 a month against projected energy costs for the new house and it is one of the areas where I am hoping there are savings to be made too - I think there will be.
MAB getting ready for holidays is indeed very exciting! We take our cold box too although on the way up it will be mostly empty - just bottles of water plus if there is any open cheese to take from the fridge at home we take that rather than risk it spoiling by the time we come back. It'll be full on the way home though as we bring all sorts of tasty goodies back!
One thing I need to do later is meal plan for the days after we get back to use as much as possible from the freezer as there will be stuff we bring back that we'll ideally want to freeze. if I can get out food for Monday and Tuesday at least as soon as we're home then that should help.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
