Any decent business should know that delivery is their responsibility so I also agree that a bad review is in order.
Glad you got the chain sorted, annoying on the way to work though.

Just seen a picture of the rather beautiful coronation invitation from the Palace now - wonderful, but it does appear to have a demonic version of Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh in the bottom left hand corner...Debt free and Keeping on Track5 -
Haha - yes Mrs P - Paddington would have been perfect!
Jwil, TMV That is precisely the point I made to the camera company - that my contract was with them, not with FedEx! To raise any sort of claim with FedEx myself I'd also have to raise it for "delivery not made" then hope I could further explain the circumstances as if course it was made, just to the wrong person! It's blatantly a case of they can't be bothered, so they think they'll make me spend a bit of time on it and then just let it drop. I will let it drop, as I'm not prepared to waste any further time on it, but I'll definitely make sure people know.
It was OneStop Digital - based in Hong Kong - for anyone else wondering. The camera is a grey import (which doesn't particularly worry me, especially as I bought a 3 year international warranty alongside it) and the price was excellent (Nearly £150 saving on the UK price even once I'd paid the extra for delivery and the warranty) but their attitude to the screw up over the delivery, and the fact that clearly they use a budget service with FedEx without telling their customer that this means they won't get the usually expected tracking etc. It's a shame because I've used them before - I'd go to their main rival over there for anything I wanted to buy in that way in the future though. Annoyingly they don't have much in the way of Trustpilot reviews at the moment - but you never know, it might get the information out to someone who needs to know.
The chain/bike thing was most annoying MAB, not least as it made me slightly late arriving at work as well (not that this is a huge issue, but still irritating!). At least I got the chain back on eventually thiough - I did have visions of needing to push wretched thing the 2 miles back to the car tonight as well! With a standard derailleur gear system TMV it's pretty straightforward to pop the chain back as a rule - you push the very bottom bit of the gear system forwards - so towards the pedals, and that creates slack - and you can then fit the rest of the chain back where it need to go. Doesn't work so well when it wedges itself round the sprocket though! And definitely add a pack of wet wipes to your handlebar bag once you have it too - makes such a difference when something like that occurs! I confess on the puncture front not only have I long since forgotten how to fix one other than in theory, I don't actually have a repair kit right now either. I probably should - for the big bike at least as I do go further afield on that one.
A small win in that I've discovered that I DID in fact win on the PB's this month - I'm sure it wasn't showing yesterday but I got an email today confirming! Another £25 on bonds in the pot. Oh - and another is that M@rcus are putting their interest rate up again so it now matches my At0m E/A rate. Hopefully Atom will decide to put their up again next!
Oh - and adult me is back - I've registered the camera warranty AND emailed a copy of the paperwork back to myself.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good work!
Nuisance about the bike - and you've reminded me I need to get on my foldy one at the weekend and see whether they ever made it better, or whether it's just consigned to the shed til I win the premium bonds 🙄 As for punctures, I confess I put green slime into all my bike tyres and then I largely don't have to deal with them 😁 I CAN fix a puncture, but I don't like doing it 😂 Slime will fill most holes unless you literally slice with glass or a giant nail (which you wouldn't fix with a puncture repair kit anyway). Slime and a spare inner tube is my go-to kit!4 -
(Not that I've done any actual cycling for yonks anyway, but still...)5

Will have to look at my bike more closely EH - the motor is on the back wheel, so not sure if that affects the chain/heating. I have paid extra for Schwalbe puncture protection, but no real idea what this means - Mr MV does though as he deals with cargo bikes for work, so I just followed his suggestion! Thanks for letting us know about the company - always worth knowing who to avoid. Not likely to buy any camera bits soon, but you never know.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
