Yes nice to have a little unexpected refund from the water.
It sounds as if you had a nice time on your day out.January spends - £587.583 -
Hey all - thanks for popping in! It was a nice surprise - when they mentioned us qualifying for the compensation I guess I vaguely thought maybe it would be £7 - £8 or so, although we were suffering from a significant impact to our water pressure for close to a week - having said that we were affected less than some of the flats above as the pressure down with us is generally speaking quite strong and gets lower the higher in the building you go - we also have the tank for supplying the immersion and the bathroom of course, and that being slower to refill than usual doesn't really affect us. The only major difficulty was that we did have several days where the shower didn't work at all as the pressure was too low.
Bank just checked and all OK - MrEH fed his oyster yesterday but that was expected, and he did it on the homeward journey too which stretches it a little further! I was trying to think as I walked to the office this morning how much longer I reckoned we'd get away without topping his car up too - mine got £10 of diesel at the weekend as Neil was going to need a little more than was in it for MOT and physically driving it back to us later - but I think MrEH's car might go right through this week yet which would be handy.
A couple of small spendy decisions - the first just affecting my personal spending is that I've adjusted my Graze box to weekly from fortnightly. I did consider this a while ago but at the time we were still suffering with seriously delayed post and I frequently wasn't even getting the fortnightly one until anything up to a month after it was due - those problems seem to have sorted themselves out though so I thought I'd switch it to weekly for a while and see how it goes. The second is that we have decided Friday night will be takeaway night as we've not had one in ages! That will be covered between us from personal spends.

Sounds good @EssexHebridean. Hope you enjoy your Graze boxes! I wonder if my water company will get in touch to give me a rebate due to the low water pressure I had for a couple of weeks just after Xmas? Maybe it is one of the small print legislation rules they have to follow? I shan't live in hope, but it would be nice if they did. I got several apology texts and one or two letters at the time so it was definitely something they knew about.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Just catching up and I agree that the Coop offers can be really good when stacked! Have definitely had very cheap milk from them before in that way - and I think one of their pizza meal deals where I had a coupon for money off one of the elements worked too.

Thank you for the coop vouchers prompt. I do have the coop app and we do have a local shop which we occasionally use. I checked my card and there was £1.83 on there and I've downloaded this week's money off milk voucher so another happy home with cheap milk this week.3

Elisheba you never know - our issues were back in December, so that gives you an idea of the timescale for them to get organised with distributing compensation - we're with Affinity but I guess they all have broadly similar timescales they are supposed to work to?
I've heard nothing on the car so far TMV so I'm seeing that as god news - generally Neil will let us know if there are any issues but if it's just tiny bits that he knows we'll be fine him just doing he'll just go ahead - at least I can hopefully assume that she's not failed spectacularly anyway!
Cheery I'm trying not to be too far lulled into a false sense of security over feeling like things are under control - I'm sure I'll remember something I should have done soon enough!
Blackcats I'm a complete convert to the "random bits from C0-0p" idea now it's occurred to me - generally speaking we make really good use of the card and the app when we're in the Hebrides but half the time I never think to go in at all when we're at home - yet that £1 off your shop offer often seems to be there and essentially particularly if we're walking past on foot (which we do, ridiculously often!) it's essentially free money!
Honestly it has just got greyer and greyer and more and more chilly here today - having planned to ride the foldy bike car > office this morning I realised when I went to get it from the back of the car that I had obviously stuffed my cycling gloves into the pockets of the coat I was wearing on Friday. Decided in a heartbeat that it was waaaay too cold to ride without them so walked instead, but that in turn meant I had to walk back to collect the car at lunch - cold spitty rain all the way! MrEH has put the gloves where I will see them when I get in so at least I'll have them for tomorrow. Bizarrely I've just glanced out of the window and there are actually patches of blue sky appearing all of a sudden though!
Meals are nicely as planned this week so far - we had the slow cooked mutton stew last night and the remainder of that will feed us on Thursday too although I'll give it some more time cooking before that as the meat wasn't quite as tender as I might have preferred. Tonight will be Tuesday-Standard-Couscous - tonight featuring assorted veggies from the fridge, roasted, plus halloumi and the usual scattering of toasted seeds, sumac and a drizzle of yogurt and mint dressing.
MrEH has also finally given me some feedback on the order we were going to place for spices etc so I'll give some thought to getting that organised this week, I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've never used co-op vouchers. Our nearest one is 11 miles away, and not in a place we go very regularly. There's not one by work either. However, free money sounds great 😂 so I shall investigate for the times we're there.
Yes, the temperature has definitely dropped here too. I was in the garden with no coat on this morning! 😮😂4
