Thanks MFD and MF. MF - he swapped out the battery before quoting for it - if he'd told me first I'd have looked at alternatives.
I have finally got around to booking a chiropractor appointment (which I can reclaim on my health scheme). Hopefully he can advise me what is causing some of my issues and suggest treatment. I can claim back up to £375 - but it renews in mid August so that may last me until then... Who knows?
I submitted my gas meter reading today and it was much lower than I expected so that was great news. I should get the bill early next week.
I have a day and half's leave coming up in a week or so's time. Can't wait. Will go and see my parents and then DS. Having the chiropractor appointment the day I come back. If I don't sort my flexi out soon though I may have to work a part day... I have a big meeting next week - after which I should have more direction and that should then help...
I'm considering putting my AVCs from April as I'll be spreading my annual leave purchase over 12 months instead of 6 from then.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done on the lower than expected gas usage - I wish I could say the same chez moi.
it's lovely to read about your DD. It's good when we see our children flourish and grow into people that we are proud of (there was a time when mine were mid teens when I couldn't imagine them becoming "nice humans". Luckily they are lovely now 😀

Thanks Blackcats. Reassuring to hear others go through similar stages.
DD is going out tonight - but as part of ferrying her around she wants to go to Mr M to buy alcohol, K place for speed food and then be dropped off at friend's house. Thankfully someone else's Dad is bringing her back. She is going to see Ex at some point tomorrow but is probably coming back so not sure how much peace that will buy me.
I'm neglecting my art, writing and fitness at the moment so want to address that this weekend. I also need to do the washing. I gave in and did a food order for Mr A tomorrow and just put it on the CC for a few days. There's enough to pay it from my float still but for the sake of 4 days decided not to. I had a weird experience this week of having my cash withdrawal declined despite having enough money in the bank. It is obviously unhappy with how low my balance is (my £ is spread across about 4 accounts!)
The smart meter people are coming back for gas as they've accepted that it isn't communicating to them or me but that will be April now.
I got a piece of work done today that has been hanging over me. My problem was having too much info and trying to condense it for the audience rather than too little. I've also consciously made up hours this week. If I make up an hour a week between now and the end of March I'll be sorted.
In general the dental bridges I had have settled in - but the last one is still twinging sometimes like now... My cheek has gone all puffy again. Other than 3 biscuits I've only eaten soft food today so don't know what's triggered it again. Will try cleaning my teeth and take ibuprofen and see if between them that helps. Planning on left over turkey casserole for tea. Should be tasty. May have that first.

Lots going on but you are achieving loads.
Hope you are managing to have a relaxing weekend."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Hi savingholmes, glad to hear you are having the smart meter fixed. Its odd because it was our gas one that wasn't working when we moved into the new house. Hope your gum is feeling less swollen. I've got a crown that used to give me problems, I but I realised that I have to be ultra-careful with cleaning around it as there's a food sized gap. I have dental floss, interdental brushes and a waterpik (bought when on special offer) and touch wood its not swollen up for a long time."Think of many things, do one"

I have gappy teeth too and I don't think you understand what we go through unless you have gappy teeth yourself. DH never has plaque and has hardly a filling; our NHS dentist has just written to say she will no longer be doing NHS work and she was the last in the area. I'm staying with her as she is the kindest dentist on earth...teeth, what a design error?! Love Humdinger xx6
