I like the idea of garlic - as even if I neglected it - it has lovely white flowers....
I was rescued from my spiral by being asked to go and entertain my sister's kids today. Got to play with paint on bird and insect houses and planted some seeds in soil and a propagator. Also played games and watched them make a den. I had fun. Later my sis and I had a cathartic talk.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Congratulations on the mortgage milestone Savings. You are doing so well. I hope you are feeling better after your fall from the chair. And if you didn't get an understanding, empathetic reaction, it is pointless going back. What would she say about your creative writing, if she reacts that way over a physical calamity?
I had to dig up some garlic I threw in the corner of the garden. t grew really well, to the point the cat stopped sitting there - it was his favourite sun spot. But the smell was so strong, he stopped using it. Now the garlic plants have gone into the bin, he is using his corner again. Very easy to grow. Throw in a corner and leave is my gardening style! What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Being creative is deffo a responsibility at times @savingholmes but if the muse has you in her sights, you can run but you can't hide, no? I think I've heard a theory that creatives are in touch with the whole collective subconscious...bound to be tiring at times. What a success you're making of it, on top of everyday living and navigating finances. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx4

I think I have a way to go before being one with the universe LOL. It was good timing though for my sister to ask me to go over. Kids can be irritating particularly if they are your own - other people's kids can be life affirming (in small enough doses)
DD looked stunning when she came back from her weekend away. Her time with her friend had agreed with her.
I had to go into work today. It was boring at times but had some laughs. Got a piece of work done that has been hanging over me. Had a couple of catch ups with friends too.
I still need to get my key battery fixed - the place I wanted to take it to is shut when I am available. I am going to have to try during the work day which is irritating but grateful I don't have worse problems.
Grateful too that it looks like the energy price will be held for a few months rather than go up.
I have to confess I haven't been using my free trial of the gym classes other than the first night - despite buying new kit for it. I have been in the office more often than usual though. Will aim to use it tomorrow night instead of going to the writers group. That will be a healthy use of my time.
Just over a week until pay day - limping along now having eaten into my float somewhat...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks MFD. My DD did the dishwasher - unpack and pack - and made the kitchen more respectable before my cleaner came today which was lovely. I have to drop her somewhere early tomorrow - which is always a pain!
I had to be in work early today - complete with shower first. I was about 5 mins late but they forgave me. I seen to suddenly owe quite a few hours at work - so need to actively work on resolving that. I have enough to do so not sure why really...
I skipped the writing group last night - to one of my friend's disappointment but we are hoping to meet up in a couple of week's time.
I got the car key battery resolved yesterday and a new patio door key cut - £24!!! Rip off but good to have it off the list.
I've taken some Xmas uncooked turkey out to defrost - a couple of legs - so hopefully that will do me a couple of meals. I'm running out of meat as I am about a week from pay day. I am trying to limit my spends - but have about £15 in cash I could spend on some essentials to keep me going... Will make macaroni for another meal. Have one portion of Bolognese sauce left. I have some eggs and cheese and jacket spuds. Loads of freezer type veg - so probably just need meat and some more milk to tide me over.

DD is definitely growing within herself and hopefully she's noticing a difference too.
Ouch to the car and key cost. Try independents when you need things like this and ask your cleaner to swap fob batteries.
Can you bulk your meat out with veg, lentils, beans etc to make it go further. Having £15 in your purse is good to hang on to for the random coffees or meet ups.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4
