We've already touched on the possibility of the new meds changing the way you think about your current home/situation, haven't we...and you have acknowledged your impulsiveness in the past too - I do wonder whether the approach at the moment could be to give the meds a good 6 months while you settle on to them and learn to manage them and the changes they bring about before you make any sort of big life decisions.
When we were originally thinking about looking at houses, we brainstormed a big list of all our "wants" and then went through that list to make a decision about whether each one was actually a "need". That then informed the things that we knew we could compromise on if required. We also noted which if our "wants" would be something that potentially with the right house we could add if needed. We then revisited that at various stages of the process. Actually just going through the needs and wants like that was what eventually made us realise that neither of us wanted somewhere we would have to do any substantial level of work - and that then informed the decision to add to the budget and look for somewhere at least 95% "done".🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks everyone.
I've worked a 10 hour day today despite taking a 2 hour lunch break to see a house with my sis that I saw last week. We both concluded it was too small and I would bump into things and injure myself that way. Even the shower wasn't really wide enough to support access without injury. There's a house a few doors up with the same stupendous views where they've added a huge conservatory and where it has an integral garage that they've split into part storage and part utility that looks a better size for me. They've put the kitchen at the front of the house where you are most overlooked and created a huge lounge dining space at the back to maximise the view. They also arranged the bathrooms better and created an ensuite. Unlike the other house which had space for one car on the drive it had space for 3-4 and was block paved. It's up for £70K more than the other house but it's been up a while and is over-priced so there's a good chance I can bargain them down. They weren't available to view at lunch so I'll have to go back a different day.
I gave feedback on Saturday's house and the EA put the phone down on me while I was still talking!!!
Bungalows tend to be over-priced around here - I'd prefer to get a house where there was space downstairs you could convert to a bedroom if needed later but that still gives space for guests upstairs etc in the years before I have those kind of needs. I tend to stay mostly on one level during the day as it is.
Tomorrow I have a hospital appointment first thing and am then in the office for important meetings. I'm hoping I get to go to my fave outdoor catering cafe and pick up some steak and chips, mushroom and onions.
DD drove herself over with her BF for the first time in her car. Exciting milestone. She brought two bags of washing (roll eyes). She goes on another holiday tomorrow and is very excited.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

What a rude EA! Thankfully you won't be reliant on someone like that to progress your move! Please try and be kind to yourself. 10 hour work days as well as house viewings could really take their toll on your health and well being.4

Bungalows are more expensive everywhere I think. If it comes to the crunch all you need is a decent stairlift. I'm still considering one even though I am pretty much off the crutches now. But I just think what if I do need one, there is nothing quite like being prepared even if all it gets used for is carrying the washing upstairs. Although the scare has made me think hard about emptying the loft.

Life has definitely turned round for DD and she'll have loads more freedom due to passing her test.
Keep looking for the right property and draw your list into must have, be nice to have and I'll sacrifice this if the other two sections meet requirements; you'll find the one in time.

The second house sounds great, with the modifications already made, so no major works for you to consider. Fingers crossed they will negotiate down some, but as you said before, you can find the extra money for the right house. Also, hope this house isn't using the same estate agent! What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Absolutely unacceptable for an EA to behave like that - they should be used to hearing constructive feedback and that is the sort of thing that is helpful to pass on to the sellers as it is "stuff they can address" rather than personal feelings.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
